First off, be aware that this place is drive through only, which makes it a tad tricky when you're on a motorcycle. Never fear, they double bagged the burritos for me :-) and I had saddle bags on my bike. Don't let the sketchy look of the building scare you off either. They are super friendly. The reviews on this place were spot on. I was super hungry, and so went overboard and ordered two burritos. Boy did I ever over-serve myself. Totally worth it, even if I couldn't finish the second burrito. The first one was a pork chili verde burrito, which had huge tender chunks of pork in it, with a great flavor from the sauce. The second burro I had was a chicken fajita experience like no other, with slices of bell peppers and onions galore. I've been here twice on my travels from NY to NM and I made sure to come back a few years later, I was still thinking about the epic burrito I had on my prior visit. This is a burrito stand and everything is made fresh and they're just so good. And big! I had mine for lunch and dinner. Get avocado and green chile on your burrito, it's so good. This is drive-thru only - often there's a line and, since the driveway only has a capacity for 2-3 vehicles, you may have to wait on the adjacent Corbin Street. It's worth the wait. DJB is our favorite burrito place in Silver City (and other venues are good too). DJB has both breakfast and lunch burritos and you can customize as desired. We routinely buy Don Juan burritos as they are delicious and very filling. The past two visits have been less than ideal, though. Recently, we stopped on our way to Arizona to get our usual vegetarian burritos. We were well on the road by the time we unwrapped them and they contained some kind of pork! Not cool ... This morning I returned for two breakfast burritos and the lady at the first window was real sweet. Pretty close to perfection. 99 times out of 100, we grab up too many burritos here with the following only: Potato, green chile, egg, and cheese. The green chile is like no other, a sweet slow burn that lingers. I wish I could figure out how to do that homemade. Maybe I need to get a job here to learn the secret. They just re-opened after remodeling. I went there late in the afternoon and they told me they were out of anything breakfasty. After pouting, I decided to just try a chicken burrito, which was basic, but still had that incomparable Don Juan slow chile burn. It's not expensive. The only bad thing I can think of is that the drive-through is really partly made of a through street, but they keep things moving and soon you will be in the safety of the actual dirveway, and soon after that you will be parked on a side street wolfing your purchased treasure in culinary heaven. Doing my best snowbird imitation, I pulled a hasty U-turn and joined the lascivious lineup yearning to fulfill the desire awakened by the luscious scents wafting from the tiny windows of the canary yellow hut. After going back three times, once for breakfast and twice for dinner, this addicting little burrito joint has earned back one of the stars my last review took. Upon my first return, everything was great - except for my once favorite Chile Relleno burrito. Yet again, the chile was chewy and tough, and I had to eat around it until I could remove it from the remainder of my burrito. My other burrito was great; it was the Combination with green, and so tasty. If the relleno burrito hadn't been a repeat of the one prior to it, both stars would have been added back on to this review. Since that visit was almost perfect, we decided to try their breakfast burritos. We were SO PLEASED with that visit, as everything was delicious and made exactly right. I had the steak, egg, green chile, and cheese breakfast burrito; I asked for them to add potato, and it was THE PERFECT morning meal. I could not have enjoyed it more! Our most recent visit was for two Combination burritos, one with red and one with green. Both were so yummy, and made perfectly. They hit the spot, for sure! Came here for the weekend from Tucson which I consider the Mecca of Mexican food and I have lived many places in the southwest. Don Juan's was recommended by our Airbnb host. It is ok at best.
