Instead of our intended stop for lunch in Deming we thought we'd stop here, located in the former Kranberrys location. It was very busy on a Thursday at 1 packed with lots of locals and a few of us transient travelers... good sign! Service was a bit slow but very friendly and it was clear they were maybe a bit short on floor staff so being patient was not a problem. Portions were hearty and the food was really great... particularly if you are a fan of the New Mexico style Mexican food and love Hatch green/red chiles. My husbanded LOVED his Huevos Rancheros (he is always super critical), the red salsa was gold standard and my Chilaquilas were prepared exactly how I love them. The place is clean, family owned and operated and we will definitely stop back in! Side note- some reviews complain about the tacos... it is an actual thing for ground beef tacos to be deep fried using a hamburger patty... can't recall what they are traditionally called but that will be my next order as I am a fan.

Driving through the town of Deming in SW New Mexico and saw this restaurant off the 10 freeway. We…read morewere warmly greeted by the owner who told us to pick a table we preferred . There's a small u shaped bar seating and larger dining areas on either side . I noticed a couple of ribbons on the counter and he mentioned his salsa , red chili snd BBQ has won local awards . He brought out a complimentary basket of chips and green Hatch chili salsa to start . Oh boy! This was the best salsa! Tasty with a kick but not too spicy . My daughter scooped up every last bit. He suggested the special burrito. ($13?) I took his advise and got it . It was humongous! Definitely enough to share . My daughter wanted the salmon dinner which was standard fare so, she helped me eat my burrito instead . My burrito was way better . It had everything but the kitchen sink in it . Sooo good . Even though we ate until we were full , we still had 1/2 a burrito left! (Ate the rest for breakfast the next day !) Glad we found this gem driving through on our road trip. * The owners Hatch chili salsa should be sold in jars !

Glad we stopped because the Chile Relleno was one of the best I had in a long time. The shell was very crispy. Wow covered with sauce. Hard to make crispy inside. The rice and beans came with. It was really good too. We're also order the steak, medium rare, but we had to send it back for a little more cooking. Overall, the flavor was very good. Came with fries and a salad.

When I got…read morethere a party of seven kids were ordering, and running in and out of line to check out The Godfather's pizza slices available further down the counter. I figured I was going to be there a bit, but the employees were super efficient and had them handled no problem, even keeping track of the shell game the kids were running with their purchases so everything was rung up right. Irritated the kids something fierce while the rest of looking on grinned knowingly. The sandwich was fresh, and the prep counter was clean which was nice to see. Granted it's still Subway, so not gourmet dining, but it did the trick and I would order here again.

I didn't know that my tried and true Subway restaurant chain had completely jettisoned their menu for a "new" one. I asked if it was unique but he assured me it was nationwide. Sadness?! May the Italian BMT RIP.... Why five stars? The four individuals on the other side of the glass! They were a machine and we were happily out the door soon after. The Super Meats sandwich doesn't taste Italian; it's more a combo of three of the old sandwiches. It was not satisfactory and half of it was trashed. What on earth is going to replace Subway? It was a staple. Sigh...
