I come here every year just to water ski clean boats big lake I never see people water skiing anymore I think it might be out dated, you can rent other equipment to have fun. It's better then camping.

We've been here twice we love this place to camp it was our first time seeing a tarantula out in nature this time we came ! We will be coming back just being more mindful of where we walk lol !

    The view from our campsite.

I camped here in mid October as part of a larger group. It was my first time here. I had a really great time and was really happy with the campsites. Each site had a private parking spot for one car, a cement picnic table, fire ring with flip over BBQ grate, and a locker to keep your food safe from animals. There was also plenty of room to comfortably place your tent and gear. We camped at the Fleming Meadows camping area. It was $30 per night. That includes admission to any of their camping areas which worked out great because the hiking trails are down at the Blue Oaks camping area which is a mile or so back up Bonds Flat Road. The trail is about 3 miles and walks along the side of the lake. If you are into hiking it's a nice flat and easy hike with great views. Having seen both camping areas I recommend Fleming Meadows because the sites are very near the water and there is great beach access. Do not come here if you are bothered by tarantulas. They are everywhere. We saw at least 3-4 each day. They are harmless and leave you alone so if you are unsure don't let them scare you off. I gave them 4 stars because it's such a long uphill walk to the bathroom/showers.

There were boats and people swimming inside

When we arrived there was free of charge, but as soon as we got there. It really was empty and nothing else but the lake. I wish the place had more tables and restaurants for entertainment. Other than that the lake was more than a simple lake. I also want to include that I hope the people in charge of the lake enforce stricter rules on how one can bbq. For the reason, that some people were throwing their red plastic cups on the floor, and trash in the lake.

    Huge roaches

Been coming to this place for over two years ( flaming meadows camp site) until today 5-30-2022, I noticed there are huge roaches all over the campground. They swarmed the fire pit, rv hook up station, and rv tires. I didn't see them during the day, but it is completely different at night! I urge you to be extremely cautious when coming to this camp site you might bring this infestation to your lovely home. Truly disappointed and disgusted!! Will not be coming back to this place. wish me luck with this back home.

    Time to roll up

Water water water...... They have a fire work show here and it was really nice. Took the family out for my birthday weekend 6/27-6/30/2019camping and i had a blast. We will definitely use another camp ground though because I couldn't help but to think we were going to fall off the cliff every time we took the boat out.

Favorite lake in California, even in early November! Gates were wide open and the lake was still calm and clean.

We were looking for a vacation within a few hours of home and stumbled upon TH…read more Looking at the rentals we noticed some had access to this private lake, which sounded great, so we decided to check it out and found it was totally worth it. At first the long list of rules and the $8 fee per person may be a bit off putting, but once you get there you'll understand the benefits that come from them. The beach is incredibly clean and large enough to accommodate quite a few families and there is ample parking. There are large trees shading benches along a well kept concrete path, all perfect for resting your belongings on less busy days. The trees also cast shade a good distance onto the beach, so you have some options for shade. I would still say a good umbrella is recommended, as the shade could fill up. The water feels cool when you get in but once you're under it's really nice. The water and lake are also very clean, with a nice sandy bottom. If you go out a little further you may encounter some algae as it gets deeper, but all in all it's a fantastic lake to swim in. There are water slides, sunning platforms in the middle if you swim out that far, great space for paddle boards and kayaks, and even a diving board in the deepest part and granite beach next to it. After 6pm it's free to enter and you can fish along the dam too. They said it's stocked with trout but we didn't find any. We did catch some bluegill though!

Being out on the water with friends, music going, and just enjoying the lake... unforgettable memories every time. We also added jet skis, which made the whole experience even better. Everyone was so friendly, patient, and made sure we understood everything before heading out. They explained all the safety details clearly and made us feel completely comfortable getting on the water. If you're planning a birthday, group outing, or just a fun lake day, this is 100% the move. However we ran into some trouble not being able to start the boat so we didn't return until 11am. There was no penalty. All the staffs were kind. This time we were welcomed with a choice of water, soda, beer or mimosas. Of coarse we opted for the mimosas. Not sure if this is a new thing but we did rent the biggest boat, the 60' Escapade II. We weren't offered drinks in the past where we rented smaller houseboats. They do have a store where you can get some food including ice cream, drinks, apparel and this is also where you check in. They also have an ice and water station. Houseboating is so much fun. The house boat had everything we needed to enjoy our getaway.

There are noisy/drunk/obnoxious groups of people who do not respect the quiet times and curfews. I understand music on (not blasting), until 12/1am sure. Not until 4-5am. Yelling, not caring who is around or near. We were told there is no monitoring or assistance pretty much over night at that camp ground. What happens in case of an emergency? You have crazy crowds or rude selfish people, and nobody to check, regulate or control any of it. This place no longer feels safe if you are going with kids and family. There are burrs, goose poop and spiders everywhere. Tent campers are allowed to reserve FHU RV sites, and many do. There is absolutely NO enforcement of quiet hours. Other campers keep their music loud and the party going all night, every night. They literally never turned it down and were blasting it like they were at the club... 12am, 2am, 4am, 6am... ALL NIGHT. My kids and I couldn't get a good night sleep because of it. This is not a true family campground. It invites all the wrong elements, because they don't enforce the rules. Most of the campsites had WAY more than 6 people per site, which is another campground rule that definitely wasn't enforced. This is not relaxing camping. It's just non-stop loud music and partying. I would NEVER recommend this campground to people I actually like, and will never be returning.
