Meet of my friends here for lunch, I arrived a few minutes early and decided to be seated and proceeded to order a Peach/Mango marg it was soo good while I waited for my friend to arrive. I ordered the snapper with scallops on top with rice and I added refried beans, so good! My friend ordered a grande burrito, we both enjoyed the food and fellowship! The ambiance was nice, nice crowd there for lunch. Its in a plaza with plenty of free parking, will most definitely be back and all of the employees I encountered there was very attentive and friendly, cuddos to them!

Our bartender Donavon was awesome. The prices were really good. Warm atmosphere. Bathroom was clean. I had the Texas Burrito which was out of this world. Family friendly. Great spot for drinks or to grab a bite.

When you walk in the vibe is vibrant the staff is friendly and the food it smells amazing. We started with the 8$ margarita special . Sadly it missed the mark it was mostly lemon sour and the salted rim was very overpowering that the drink just tasted like salted lemon water what made it worse was that the drink was very very warm not sure if this is a premixed pitcher just sitting at the bar but it should have been shaken first or maybe even refrigerated sadly by the time I took a sip even tho it had ice it was very warm. I ordered the super steak chimichanga and my sister the super shrimp chimichanga. Though it presented well , we were disappointed to see that it was a burrito covered in cheese ( the distinction of a chimichanga is that it's deep-fried, ) this was not . As I cut into it to taste the steak I was disappointed at how flavorless it was I've had many steak chimichangas and to my surprise this was stuffed with strips of steak with unseasoned onions and peppers and loads of sliced tomatoes. It tasted flavorless my sisters shrimp was also flavorless . We added salt ,pepper, pico and queso to bring it to life but sadly nothing could save the meal We barely ate half . Our waitress Jennifer was great , very polite and attentive but what ever is going on in the kitchen needs to be reevaluated . Queso is good, the smoked chipotle salsa is also good , nice warm chips that needed salt but not a problem to add . The speed in which the food came was almost too quick imo which is prob why it tasted so bland. Prob won't be back .

Prompt service, excellent food. I can't believe all the bad reviews from pretentious folks who have to nit-pick and complain about everything. The tacos were great, the beer was cold, my mug got filled in a timely fashion. Absolutely no complaints. Some of y'all are too picky and too full of yourselves. Have another beer and be quiet.

I come here all the time and this has been the worst experience! Server doesn't speak English and won't get help from anyone. The socalled female manager came over and she gave nothing but nasty attitude. She actually tried to argue with me over the order I tried to place for MYself. She practically yelled at me!! They raised the prices extremely high. I can see why they don't have any customers

The food was pretty good and the service was quick as we ordered takeout. I will say the cheese or queso that we ordered for takeout isn't a little 2 ounce container and it's probably not worth the amount that they are charging unless you're sitting in the restaurant. Our food overall was good and fresh. I would love to try this restaurant again and eat inside.

Ehhh...not really impressed! Went here today, 11-28-2023 for lunch with my husband. First off, the health score was an 87...not bad, but not GREAT either! The hostess was eating lunch, which wasn't a big deal, b/c as soon as we approached, she came and seated us immediately. Our waitresses...yes 2, b/c the primary waitress looked to be in training and also needed an interpreter, b/c she couldn't speak great English. But it wasn't bad. I ordered the chicken taquitos. The chicken was kinda tough and not seasoned well, but the presentation was very pretty..pics attached. My husband got the large chicken nachos! And by large, I mean Gigantic! He should've gotten the small b/c it was a lot of food! He said it was good though! I will add, that if you like sour cream and won't extra, please be aware that it's $1.30 for a side of it.... say what now!! I wish we would have known, b/c we would've told them to keep it. I mean, sour cream isn't an expensive product and for the life of me I can't seem to understand why restaurants charge an arm and a leg for a side of it...oh well, I digress! Would I go back? Maybe, maybe not.

Great service. We sat at the bar and Jenny did an amazing job. Food and drinks were great! Clean establishment and welcoming.

    Chicken skin

Went for first time today for lunch. Ordered a chicken taco salad. The chicken had so much skin and gristle in it. When I finally got the waitress and told her, their solution was to take off $3.

    hair in food

Ordered the fajita nachos and this time it came with hair cooked into it. I called the restaurant and the manager told me to fix it with uber. So yes, I will get a refund likely but the restaurant refused to remake the meal. Overall disappointing. I would've liked to actually be able to eat my food.

I was not disappointed. This place was great - food, drinks, and service!! I have struggled finding a good Mexican spot in the area but I think this may be it.

    Hair in my food!

It was…read moremy first time there under the recommendation of my bestie but the Yelp reviews made me a bit hesitant. But I went with the vibes! Located in Lithonia, Don Tello's is located in a busy retail area and I loved that parking wasn't an issue at all. There were 2 arcade games at the front which I'm sure come in handy on busy days when children may become restless if their parents are waiting for a table. As we walked up to the hostess stand, I noticed the printed signage that so many mentioned in their reviews regarding no refunds, remakes, etc. Kinda makes you cautious! But we were quickly seated by friendly hostesses and we weren't turning back. The restaurant was huge and filled with plenty of space for hungry guests. I read reviews regarding their Cinco de Mayo celebration being on swole, and I can definitely imagine that! There were only a few people in our seating area during our visit, but I definitely appreciated that. Our waitress was sweet but quite forgetful. On a number of occasions we found ourselves asking for items two or three times. We'd ask a question and she'd respond in a calm "duh" kinda way as if we knew what was happening in the kitchen, lol. I'm a guacamole purist so when I ordered the Texas guacamole dip, I asked for it to be prepared tableside as that was listed as an option on the menu and I wanted a hand in deciding how much/little of each ingredient and enjoy the prep. When I asked about this, our waitress said, "No. No that's not possible." I asked why not and she said, "The kitchen, they prepare it in the kitchen. Ever since.. yeah, no." LOL not much of an explanation, we were all so puzzled. But I was set on the idea and knew I didn't want the regular guacamole dip because in pictures it looked like avocado puree. Moving along. The menu is extensive but not overwhelming. I really appreciated that there were a number of a la carte options (as I never eat my rice and beans) and they were all priced under $7! Such a great deal. I ended up going with a shredded chicken chimichanga along with the guacamole dip and my girlfriends opted for tacos, a beef quesadilla, a burrito and an order of nachos. I'll say this - the portions were insane. My friends' quesadilla was filled up with meat and covered the entire plate (but wasn't cut up) and another girlfriends' nachos could have fed two people. My guacamole was a nice portion as well and I could tell that it was fresh. It was good, not the best I've had, but tasty. I could have used another avocado in the mix and just a litttttttle less lime. Overall, an okay experience but I'm not sure if I'll be rushing back anytime soon.

I had heard whispers in the barnyard for weeks about this place. "Authentic." "Life-changing."…read more"Unlimited chips." Naturally, I assumed it was another one of those trendy farm-to-table establishments where everyone stares at you like you're both the customer *and* the menu. But after one visit to *Tellos*, I can confidently say this was the finest dining experience of my entire porcine existence. First impressions matter. The moment I trotted through the door, my snout was assaulted--in the best possible way--by the smell of roasted peppers, sizzling onions, cilantro, garlic, lime, and slow-cooked meat. For a brief moment, I forgot my own species. I forgot taxes. I forgot the electric fence incident of 2023. The aroma alone nearly made me levitate. The décor was immaculate. Colorful papel picado fluttered from the ceiling like festive little flags announcing, "Yes, pig, you are safe here." Hand-painted tiles lined the walls. There was a fountain in the corner that made me emotional for reasons I still don't understand. The music? Soft mariachi mixed with upbeat Latin jazz. Loud enough to feel alive, quiet enough to hear myself chewing. Now let's discuss the chips and salsa. The chips arrived warm. *Warm.* Do you understand what that means to a creature accustomed to eating room-temperature pellets from a dented metal trough? These weren't chips. These were crispy golden fragments of divine intervention. Perfect salt distribution. Structurally sound. Not one snapped under salsa pressure. And the salsa... sweet mother of mud puddles. It arrived in three forms: * Green salsa: tangy, bright, slightly smoky. Made me kick my back leg uncontrollably. * Red salsa: deep, roasted flavor with enough heat to make my ears flap like helicopter blades. * Habanero salsa: briefly allowed me to see through time. I consumed all three with reckless abandon. The waiter--whose mustache alone deserved five stars--recommended the carnitas tacos. I froze. As a pig, this was morally complicated territory. It felt like attending a family reunion and realizing everyone else was on the menu. But curiosity won. Reader, I have no words. The tortillas were soft and fresh with just enough char. The carnitas were crispy on the edges, tender in the middle, juicy enough to make me tear up. Topped with diced onion, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime so perfectly balanced it could've resolved international conflicts. Every bite was a spiritual crisis wrapped in corn. I spent several minutes staring into the middle distance afterward. The rice was fluffy instead of dry. The refried beans had actual flavor instead of tasting like edible wallpaper paste. The guacamole was prepared tableside with such ceremony and respect that I almost stood up and saluted. Then came the horchata. As a pig, I normally hydrate from puddles and occasionally garden hoses. This drink changed me fundamentally. Creamy cinnamon sweetness with ice so cold it made my tiny curly tail vibrate. I drank three glasses and briefly considered learning piano. Now we must address the service. Not once did the staff make me feel unwelcome despite the obvious tension surrounding my species. No strange looks. No whispered conversations. No "special pork menu." They treated me like royalty. At one point the waiter even said, "Take your time, amigo," and I nearly cried into my enchiladas. The only negative part of the evening occurred when I became overly enthusiastic near the salsa bar and accidentally knocked over a decorative cactus. Instead of anger, the staff simply nodded with the weary understanding of people who have seen true chaos before. Dessert was churros. I didn't know churros could exist in this dimension. Crunchy exterior. Soft center. Cinnamon sugar coating so perfect it should be studied by scientists. The chocolate dipping sauce was thick enough to qualify as emotional support. By the end of the meal, I could no longer physically stand. I had to be gently rolled toward the exit like a large satisfied beanbag chair. As I lay in the parking lot staring at the stars, belly round as destiny itself, I understood something profound: This restaurant didn't just feed me. It healed me. 5/5 snorts. Would risk existential discomfort again.

Flavor-wise, the tacos were great overall, though there was one jalapeño that tasted a bit off. Luckily, that didn't ruin the dish--the rest of it was really enjoyable. Everything was served at a good temperature, not too hot and not too cold. Portion size and value were both excellent. It was definitely worth the price, and honestly, I'd eat here again without hesitation. I've been coming here for years--including for my 11th birthday--and I'd go back ten times over, no matter what. That kind of consistency really says something.
