Great meal and Marg's. Waitress was great. Hidden gem in an area with few Mexican establishments.

The…read morerestaurant was not far from our Airbnb and it was easy to find-it was located in the downtown area. We parked across the street and walked over funny enough with another group so when we entered they thought we were all together. The Hostess told us it would be a few minutes for our party(4). We were seated in the bar area at a table that had a long booth seat down the wall and then 2 chairs. The vibe of the restaurant was cool, it was kind of dark and had cool lanterns in the tall windows, black and white posters of Pitt State Gorillas throughout that were fun. The was a lounge area in the back with a couch/chairs to sit and hang out while you're having drinks. Our server was friendly and greeted us promptly. She recommended a drink when I asked her which of the two I was contemplating-I went with the basil lemonade. My friend's drinks were a Moscow Mule, Amaretto Sour and a Paloma-we all enjoyed our cocktails. For dinner I went with the Steak Frites, which was delicious! My friend's dinner-1 had the crab cakes(app)with a side salad. 1 had the club sandwich and lastly one had the pork chop dinner(which looked amazing) We all had a bite or two of the crab cakes which were fantastic! Over all we all enjoyed our meal and the vibe of the restaurant. I would recommend trying this place out if you're in the area.

TRIP ADVISOR: HOTEL EXPERT LEVEL 8 Brick and Mortar,…read morePittsburg, Kansas "Bartender" or perhaps manager does not understand hospitality My wife and I have enjoyed dinners, and entertained guests at Brick & Mortar, in downtown Pittsburg, Kansas several times during our visits to my alma mater and area I grew up in. So, this early August 2026 visit, we planned to treat our friends and some family to dinner at Brick & Mortar, as we had in past visits. First evening in Pittsburg, we decided to check out Brick & Mortar with a light dinner. We had house small salad, wonderful crab cakes and, eventually a pizza. ALL the food was excellent! What spoiled our experience was with interaction with "Bartender" or perhaps manager. When our excellent waitress asked for our choice of drink, we requested the Bread and Butter Chardonnay that we'd enjoyed on prior visits. She informed that it was no longer available. OK... Her advice was Estancia Chardonnay, and we ordered one glass to try. That wine was fine. But... "Bartender" or perhaps manager visited our table to explain in detail how that wine was selected to replace the Bread and Butter Chardonnay. His table visit was also just fine as "Bartender" or perhaps manager displayed our shared passion for quality affordable wines. We went on to enjoy our excellent meal, took leftover pizza boxed, tipped waitress and departed. As we walked out past the bar, I walked near walked, shook his hand and thanked him for his insight on wines. He responded to the effect "We [our restaurant] loses money on wines, only profit from mixed drinks." To which I thought: then STOP selling wine, or stop telling customers not to buy wine! Overall, our experience was good. So I told "Bartender" or perhaps manager that we enjoyed our meal and we would return with friends. To which "Bartender" or perhaps manager replied: "IF.. I allow you!" So... we did NOT allow "Bartender" or perhaps manager to exercise that option. Never returned to Brick & Mortar during our remaining stay. Hope "Bartender" or perhaps manager gets help to understand hospitality

It's a very small place with a classic "U" shaped bar. Like most dives the seating revolves around bar seating, with a few tables in the back for a more social setting. Full bar, and some of the coldest beer I've ever had. They also have some decent bar food. Burgers, nachos, pizza, pork sandwiches, and pretzels. The good- drinks are extremely reasonable, and the food was great for bar food. Nice outside seating, plenty of parking. The Bad- Smoking, I know these small towns at till allow it, but yuck especially in a small place. Cell phone service can be nonexistent for some providers, and finally it took over an hour to get my food. I understand there's only one tender who makes drinks and food, but an hour is too long.

It has great atmosphere and they really know how to treat you. Rick the owner was there and never once mentioned he owned the joint. He just sat there and had a few drinks with me and chatted. Dan the karaoke man is about the friendliest there is. Oh and by the way they have wifi. That's right people a biker bar with a homey feeling to that welcomes everyone has good food, great beer (they will now have Guinness) awesome bar staff. The bar tender never let me sit with an empty beer. If you are on a ride and need a stop this is the place, if you are needing a drink at a place that judges no one and accepts everyone this is the place. If you have just had a long day and need a cold beer and a laugh this is the place. On the weekends they also have the wet tshirt contest and jello wrestling.

We started out with two appetizers, Fried Ravioli & Popcorn Shrimp Basket. To be honest the Fried Ravioli wasn't worth ordering. Pretty much flavorless! The menu read stuffed with cheese & jalapenos. I don't think either existed in the ravioli. Had great potential but just didn't deliver. The Popcorn Shrimp was a step up and we're actually pretty good. The dipping sauce was rather strange - it seemed to be a spicy teriyaki which was okay just not a dipping sauce I expected. Maybe a choice of sauces would be a better option. Four of the 5 choose burgers and I think everyone truly enjoyed their choice. I chose the KC Special - pastrami burnt ends, w/two 1/4 lb burgers with cheese and a side of Freedom Fries. Two others chose the Heavenly Bacon and the last picked the Mushroom Burger. I think it's fair to say everyone enjoyed their burger. The lone dissenter felt the need to be on the healthier side and he went with the salmon. He described it as dry and over cooked. Luckily he choose the French Onion soup as a starter and he said it was one of the best soups he's had! Another one in the group also ordered the same and he said it was delicious. I'm mad at myself for not ordering because that is one of my favorites and can't believe I actually passed on it! Our server was GG and she was very pleasant and she was good at checking in on us to make sure we were doing okay. We enjoyed her waiting on us for our lunch meal. If we ever make our way to Pittsburg again I think I would definitely try this place again and look at trying other items on the menu!
