Good breakfast! Bacon was crispy, just like I like it and the biscuits fluffy. However, I did see the picture of the cinnamon roll and wanted it but evidently it is not made everyday. What a great breakfast. I had the 3 meat omelete and hash browns. The portions were plentiful and the omelete was cooked just right. My friend ordered the French toast and the portion was big. What a neat little place and the breakfast was so good! When we first walked in, all the locals kinda stopped and looked like who are THESE people? I don't think too many non-locals go here....or maybe it was a slow day! But everyone was super nice so it was fine; just kinda funny! Or maybe we were getting stares because we just rolled out of bed and had planned on eating at the hotel, until we saw the breakfast selection...or lack thereof. Anywho, they had a pretty big breakfast selection and the prices were decent; sadly all they have is Pepsi products, but that's typical around here with the Pepsi bottling plant. We both got the #1 Breakfast Special with 2 eggs, mounds of bacon, hash browns, and either toast or biscuit and gravy. I got the biscuit and gravy and the biscuit was huge and the gravy had sausage in it....mmmmmm. The hash browns weren't shredded but were cubed, fried potatoes. Very good though I usually like the shredded kind better. The waitress was very attentive, and sweet although I kept waiting for her to say "Kiss My Grits" a la Flo from Mel's Diner... If you're ever in Pittsburg, check this place out....it was a great find on our last day there and better than the fast food breakfast choices! read more

We were headed out for a road trip and left pretty early. When we got to Pittsburg we were starting to get hungry and stopped at the first breakfast place that wasn't a chain. It was about 8:30 on a Thursday. The typical coffee shop crowd of older guys were sitting around reading the paper and gossiping. The place is dated, but clean and comfortable. Our order was out in about 2 second flat. We just had a basic breakfast: eggs, bacon, grits, biscuits and gravy. All was good except the biscuits and gravy were quite weird. I think the sausage they use in their gravy might be weird and I think they use sausage grease in their biscuits which makes them taste weird too. We left satisfied with a quick meal. Sometimes if you go in a place like this you are treated like aliens from outer space, but the patrons were friendly and welcoming and didn't stare at us like we were invading their space. read more

In town at the Casino for boxing and staying at the hotel but decided to go get a real breakfast. We looked up local spots and came across Otto's. From start to finish everything was good. We ordered food and it came out in about 5 min! Nice and hot and fresh. Wow ! So glad we came here. Waitress was great too. read more

Tried a place down the street and found it closed. Called and found out Otto's was open. How wonderful to walk in the door and people smile and speak to you! I have always liked Otto's, but have never been a regular. While it might seem kind of dinner divey, it holds up. Stopped in around closing one slow Saturday afternoon to get some food because we hadn't been there in a long while. I ordered the liver and onions, mashed, gravy and a side of Watergate Salad. Liver was cooked perfectly, not overcooked. Onions were caramelized wonderfully on the flat top. Potatoes and gravy were satisfying, salad brought back fond memories. Staff (Sally) was attentive, funny and accommodating. Definitely will return. read more

We was just visiting Pittsburgh and looked up places to eat and came across Otto's, we went there waitress was super friendly got our drinks right away which is a plus. We looked at the menu ordered had our food faster then we expected, it was hot and fresh and the portions was great and the price was really good! Not exactly a fan. While this place is very nicely updated and spotlessly clean, and service friendly as expected - I much prefer other area breakfast spots (Bradbury Bishop in Webb City comes to mind) which have equivalent or better food at FAR better prices. We stopped in during Little Balkan's Day this last year. The place was slammed with business. The waitress was friendly and helpful to my 11 year old son. We ended up just getting 3 hamburger baskets for me, my 14 year old daughter and my son. The burger was hand made, the bun was grilled and the fries were great. And the price, it was so low I thought there had been a mistake. It became our favorite local place for burgers that day. read more

Horrible, OLD food, despicable service, the half owner pady that was in there, screamed at me for chaning my mind about eating there at the request of my son, threatened to call the cops on me for ordering then telling her I had changed my mind and had my son crying and afraid, all in front of her customers..... Had a good breakfast! I ventured out and tried the biscuits and gravy....with caution after reading the previous review of a lady and her thoughts on the biscuits. Good biscuits and gravy! The reason they seemed weird to her is that they were not canned biscuits...they are homemade old fashion baking soda biscuits. Very much what I grew up on. Great coffee too! The food was marginal at best. The wait staff was excellent but definitely not worth the stop.

This is the worst service I have recievesld in my entire life. First it took 20 minutes to even be able to order coffee which wasn't refilled once in an hour. After 30 minutes we finally flagged down the waitress to ask if we could order which we only knew what we would like because we borrowed a menu from the table next to us because we were never given one. An order of 2 omelets and 2 scrambled eggs took another 35 minutes to come out. We did not recieve our toast hot 2 over hard eggs instead of scrambled and did not get our bacon. We decided to just leave. Askef the cashier if they could just take off the toast and bacon since we didnt recieve it but they insisted that we wait while they made it fresh but I wasnt willing to wait another half hour so I paid for the food I didnt get and left. I live in the local area 30 min away. My wife, son and I picked Otto's to meet some family for breakfast and was my first time there. The cafe is located in the downtown district which is very clean and safe. Parking is limited. The lot on side had reserved parking for another business. Otto's Cafe is clean and spacious. The "coffee shop" locals DO give you looks, yet go on about there loud discussions. The food was excellent. I had the biscuits and sausage gravy with scrambled eggs and bacon. Biscuits were fluffy, gravy just thick enough, eggs were moist and bacon was thin and crispy, all to my satisfaction. My wife remarked that her pancakes were the best she'd ever had. The waitress was friendly and on top of her game to keep drinks filled. She was also quick to get our bill to us which was an added PLUS because I dislike having to ask or wait for the bill. read more

Under new Ownership/Management since July 2015. Some of the same menu items you will remember from the past. Along w/ a new menu options of offering Breakfast All Day! They also have one of the most reasonable prices in town on a Burger an Fries. I recommend stopping by Otto's Café when in Pittsburg or checking it out again. I'm sure glad that I did. Service was horrible! Went in for lunch and was told i could sit any where. I sat down and waited...and waited. I was never asked if i wanted a glass of water. Waitress asked another table by me if they were ready to order...they werent ready so she said she would come back. Otto's has a new owner. He makes everything from scratch and uses local fresh produce whenever possible. He even believes that plate should look pretty. I love that kind of attention to detail because it affirms that the person in charge really cares. We eat there whenever possible. It's always good food and the wait staff have been wonderful.
