The Donahoos in Ontario is by far the best out of all 3 locations still open, the customer service in there is out of the world you can walk in and they treat you like family, but not only that they are the last location with the original recipe and its amazing I have been coming here for roughly 17 years and it's by far the best chicken restaurant in The IE and I'd go as far to say it's the best I've ever had, the owners are amazing people and they love what they do and they have younger kids working hard to keep us fed and satisfied, I have been to Pomona and I can tell you it's not the same, Ontario does it right every thing made fresh to order and made with love, it's very clean in there aswell, I would recommend this place to you a million times and probably a million more just so you can try this amazing restaurant and be greeted by such amazing people. I went here for the first time today and i am a very picky chicken eater! I have had a lot of strips in the past from a lot of different places and i was very skeptical of it but i was impressed with the chicken strips they are very hearty pieces i had the 6 piece with a side and roll. I upgraded to the potato wedges not my favorite at all. They did not have enough flavor at all. They also tasted like grease. The roll was yummy warm, buttery and soft. My favorite was the actual chicken tenders full of flavor, perfectly breaded, and big juicy pieces. Amazing!! Next time i will get just chicken strips and rolls. The homemade ranch, and Donahoo's sauce was really good! I definitely recommend it! And it is pricey but you do get a lot of food for your money. Big portions! read more

Long standing fried chicken spot located in a strip mall in Ontario. No seating inside with the exception of a bench /seats to wait for your order. Can't remember if there was or were benches outside either. Either way, I believe they do most of their business by take out. The folks here are as friendly as can be and the fried chicken is crispy, fresh, and delicious. It should be noted that this place is not fast food so allow time in your plans for pick up or a wait, etc. The place itself is pretty chill. I came in and didn't order in advance, but had no issues waiting for my order. I ordered the 6 piece 'snack' with chicken tenders which came with fries and a roll. I really enjoyed my meal when I got home. I hope to come back soon and order one of the 4 or 2 piece chicken meals or even some of the wings. Heard so many good things about this chicken that I decided to try it. Ordered chicken and "home" made rolls. At first glance, the rolls looked beautifully baked and soft. Unfortunately, the rolls we're flavorless, dry and got hard after 1 hr. of bringing the food home. Rolls needed flavor, butter and a hint of honey. Chicken again was a bit flavorless and very greasy (you can taste the burnt/dirty grease and a weird after taste once I took a bite ). On a crunch scale from 1-10, 10 being extremely crunchy, I rate the batter on the chicken a 5. Chicken needed seasoning on the chicken itself and was dry. I did notice that seasoning was sprinkled on the chicken once it came out of the fryer. I really wanted to give this place a high rating but unfortunately I was very disappointed. If you're looking for fried chicken that is better than Popeyes, don't come here...you will be disappointed. Spent $42 and the majority of the order went to the trash - I would not reheat this chicken. One last thing, I gave my dog some of this chicken (without the batter) and he tasted it and didn't want to eat it??????? Not a good sign..... Lastly, I felt a bit nauseous after eating some of this chicken. This location is so much better than the one in Pomona! I had the chicken tenders and a two piece meal and both were hot, crispy, and full of flavor. The chicken was super juicy inside exactly how it should be. The sides were just as good. The macaroni salad was creamy and fresh, the fries were hot and perfectly crispy, and the coleslaw had a nice, tangy flavor that pulled it all together. Service was quick and friendly, and everything came out fresh. Definitely my new go-to spot when I'm craving great fried chicken. Highly recommend checking this location out! read more

I was in town from NY and looking for some lunch, after scrolling for a bit I came across this gem! I had a feeling they would be frying chicken fresh and I was right! I did not mind waiting for the food to be ready! When I got there, a few people were waiting but that was a good sign! By the time I checked out the area and juice bar next door, my food was ready about 10mins after coming back from the juice bar! The chicken was fresh, hot and well seasoned! Since moving to Ontario this is the only place we get our fried chicken. It's a small little take-out restaurant, but I think it has other locations. The chicken is cook to order so it does take some time and the family meals usually come with rolls. I heard that it does sell out sometimes so make sure to order or come early. I came right before 6 pm and it got really busy after that. I ordered the 8 piece family tub. The rolls are the best and they are a good size but we only got 4 when ordering the 8 pc which I was pretty bummed about. Other than that the chicken is delicious and juicy. So I went to this place with my daughter, been visiting the Pomona location for many years, but happened to see this one on social media so decided to give it a shot. Glad I did. I got to meet the owners Andrew and his wife, and they were such a joy. They make everything to order so everything is piping hot and fresh. The place that itself is small. It is basically just order to go. There are no tables for seating so we found a spot up the street at the park in the shade to eat. We ordered the four piece, tender snack box which came with a hot fresh roll french fries and four tenders. They gave us a choice of sauces. There are a few that are a separate charge for including the ranch, which I definitely wanted to try since I heard it is made in house. We got our box and the fries were crispy, hot and fresh. The tenders were so juicy and crispy. Love the flavoring. I thought they were delicious. The rolls are soft and hot. The inside has butter, which makes it even better. The ranch was definitely delicious. I will definitely be going back whenever I have a chicken tender craving. Best place for pretenders in the area for sure. It's located in a small strip plaza. There's no seating. Pretty much takeout only. Best to order and call ahead of time and pick up. They really do mean made-to-order fresh because they're dropping the chicken according to orders rather than most chain restaurants that already have big batches made. We called at opening and it was already a 35 min wait. The employees are really nice. Patient with us especially since it was our first time. We ordered two 4 piece chicken meals which include your choice of salad (green salad, Mac salad, potato salad, or Cole slaw), French fries, and bread. We also ordered the potato wedges. Check your food before you leave that you have everything's. One of our meals only came with 3 chicken pieces in it instead of the 4 that we paid for. When we came back to let them know a piece was missing, they already knew the mistake had happened after we left and apologized and gave us our missing piece. With that minor inconvenience overall the food was great. Potato wedges are GOOD. It's battered and tastes entirely like the crispy and seasoned texture of the chicken. First let me say I grew up a block away from the Pomona location and had been going there since the 80s. Today was my first time at the Ontario location and I can say that I'll never go back to Pomona!!!! The service was quick and friendly everyone there ( a guy and two ladies) were super nice! They let me know my wait time right away, and even told me about how great the house dressing are! So I ordered two ( homemade ranch and blue cheese a $1 each). They quoted me about 20 minutes but it was less than that. The chicken was fried fresh with clean oil that I saw them pouring in. The store itself was tidy and neat. They take Apple Pay and card. I visited on a Friday evening and it was very busy. The place is pretty small and no dine in available. There is limited seating inside for those waiting for their orders. Customer service is excellent. Pro tip is to call ahead to order and just pick up when you arrive. It is located in a plaza with limited parking. You can however park across the street. They have fried chicken bone in as well as tenders. However, i would only recommend their bone in chicken. I ordered a 8 pieces with their wedges, macaroni salad and chicken tenders. Everything is made fresh so you will have to wait. The food usually comes with 1 bread which appears very popular and is baked fresh. Our food took about 50 minutes. Their fries and wedges are great and fresh. They batter the wedges and fry them fresh. As for the chicken, wow the crunch is insane and the chicken was flavorful and juicy. The potato salad was very very good. I prefer the potato salad over the mac salad. The tenders were on the drier side...Their ranch was very good also. I will say it is on the heavier side but its fried chicken so yeah its heavy. I was only able to eat a few pieces before i felt very full. This place exceeded my expectations (except for the tenders). Fresh, crispy fried chicken with great sides.
