The self-order kiosk was easy to use, and they text you when your order is ready. I tried the pork belly sandwich, and it was hearty and well executed. The pork had a great fat-to-meat ratio, the sourdough was nicely crisp with a strong tang, the pickled onions added a subtle sweetness, and the cheese pull was super satisfying. I'd definitely order it again. The lumpia, though, looked a little malnourished- very thin and underwhelming. The filling wasn't very memorable either, since it was sparse and simply seasoned. Guy behind the counter was cool and helpful. Talked us into getting the belly grilled cheese which was delicious. The belly bowl was also really good. Let them know if you're not a fan of spicy mayo cause they really pile it on. I wish I would have said something but I was able to scrape some off. Finally made the plunge to give them a try and the result wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable either. We came in on a weekday for dinner with a moderate crowd at the Haven City Market. There was virtually no interaction with staff at Belly & Snout despite there being two workers in the kitchen. They have a self-service kiosk, which is fine, but it wasn't clear what the next steps were going to be after ordering: Should I wait there? Will I get a text to return? Is there an estimated wait time? Who knows? The two guys were consumed in a conversation and were completely disengaged with the handful of us waiting, unsure of our next steps. When an order was ready, they were quick to just leave the order for someone to pick up instead of handing it to them. Again, they weren't even that busy! I ended up ordering the Chicken Adobo Grilled Cheese because I LOVE chicken adobo and I LOVE grilled cheese. The sandwich was a good size and had a good amount of chicken, however, the flavor was lacking. There was barely a hint of any adobo taste and the garlic crema listed on the description of the menu seemed to be nonexistent. The sandwich just tasted like a plain grilled cheese with chicken in it. Perhaps I came on an off day for them or I just ordered an off item from the menu. I ordered the Milkfish Rice Bowl which was fresh, very well plated and tasty. I can't say much about the service, considering orders are meant to be placed using an electronic kiosk, not a live person. Thoroughly enjoyed this place! We were probably their first customers of the day so they were still setting up but once they opened it was on! Ordering at the kiosk was easy...the hard part was choosing what to indulge in. Adobo was not available that day for some reason so pork belly was the theme of the day. Went for pork belly grilled cheese, belly fries AND belly boxed lunch which included pork belly, lumpia, salad, rice, pickled onions...a sorta sampler platter and a great way to try a little bit of everything (although there are waaaay more things to try!). I usually don't indulge in pork belly too often but this was really tasty and everything went well together. Love that they have a kiosk to order your food. I find it less stressing and convenient because they have pictures of the items on the menu. I came on a Saturday and was able to order right away. I ordered the adobo chicken bowl and an order of lumpia (4 pcs). My food came out pretty quick and the worker was kind. The adobo was good...I wouldn't say the best. My husband and I had a very disappointing dinner experience here last night. We ordered the Adobo Rice Bowl, and from the very first spoonful, we noticed the rice had a strange, gritty texture. I asked my husband to talk to the staff for their opinion and to observe the staff's response and attitude. When he spoke to the server, the response was simply, "All of our rice is cooked like that," with no hint of an apology or willingness to improve. I tried to give the dish another chance, but it was truly unpleasant and difficult to eat. I brought it up again, hoping for a more understanding response, but instead, I was accused of being aggressive--when in fact, the server himself was speaking to me with a very condescending and arrogant attitude. If the server had simply acknowledged our concern and shown a willingness to check the food quality from the beginning, there wouldn't have been a second confrontation, and I wouldn't have felt so upset. Even if he couldn't taste the rice we had already eaten, he could've at least apologized and checked the rest of the rice in the kitchen instead of insisting, "That's just how we always cook it." Customer feedback should be seen as an opportunity to improve service and quality--not as an attack or someone trying to start trouble. After going back and forth for a while, the server did refund us, but he did so with a very smug and dismissive attitude. I tried their pork lumpia served in a long lighty crisp roll with sweet sour dipping sauce. It needed more meat and crispier. I also had the Pork Adobo Bowl which was served with braised pork belly on Jasmine rice and topped with fried egg and pickled red onion and Aïoli gravy ( not a fan). tl;dr: No flavor, no go. Honestly, when I was thinking about writing the review as I was eating...It was 3 stars for me. While writing it a day later, I really don't know what's going on here with their tacos or meat. This establishment needs to up their game in a food court with so many options. If you're going to have Guy Fieri's autographed poster on the wall, it better taste like how he tried that shit in da kitchen. I got three tacos just to try their meat because I was already full, Belly & Snout already has established itself in 2014, so I had to give them a go. First, where's the flavor??? The pork belly barely, if at all, had any flavor in terms of marinade, braise, brushed, or sprinkled on. It tasted as if I cut up pieces of a wonderful pork belly, threw it into the air fryer with no seasoning or rendering whatsoever and gave them to customers. I was eating pork fat and pork protein with some onions on top. I could've made this. There's nothing Filipino about this. I don't even want to talk about the meats anymore, just like how there's no seasoning to savor over. I'll keep it concise from now on. The spicy pork tastes like Mexican chorizo if someone forgot the paprika, cumin, and salt. The adobo tastes like unflavored carnitas; full of protein but no caramelization. I'm not saying it has to be Filipino, even if it taste straight-up Mexican, I would enjoy it despite its branding. Does this place even know how to work with pork? You can't have an establishment that nearly every dish depends on le pig and not have flavors. Damn...its store name is literally about pork. Some may say I didn't try their other stuff but they're just variations of carbohydrate(i.e. sandwich bread, rice, fries) with their meat on top. Upon arrival, I was saddened to see the old staple favorites of the Oxtail Fries nor the Sisig Hot Dog / Tacos no longer on the menu. My son and I ended up trying the Spicy Pork Bowl, Pork Belly Sandwich, and Adobo Fries. All I can advise is don't forget the dishes that got Guy Fieri to sing your praise. If your known as a Filipino-Fusion eatery, make dishes that have Filipino flavors or techniques. The only dish that had that essence was the fries. The porkbelly in the sandwich was very tender and delicious but nothing reminded me of being Filipino. The pork bowl was void and lacking of any Filipino flavors I've ever had. After looking around a lady arrived from behind us in the general area as opposed to the back of the kitchen. Anyhow, once the order was placed we got drinks across the way from the Acai Superfoods place and grabbed a table. This was mid afternoon and not busy at all. The food came out a little faster than the quoted time but maybe it needed more? The Adobo had little flavor and no sauce as seen in other people's pictures, the rice could use a pinch of salt too. My beef was ok but in the context of the surrounding vegetables and rice it lacks something I cannot fully articulate. The fried eggs on the bowls were pretty crispy, I'd almost prefer hard boiled. What can I say? I been going here for a couple of years now and never disappoints me, my son's favorite was the spicy pork bowl with the spicy aoli sauce - no jalapeños. Mine was the lumpia and the adobo grilled cheese. The cheese is oozing down with a crunchy toast on the outside but gooey yummy cheese with adobo chicken, soft and season to perfection. The adobo was not too much just the right amount that paired well inside the grill cheese. Ask for the chipotle aioli with it on the side. Next was the delicious lumpia, you can tell it's not those frozen ones you buy at the grocery store and fry them up. It was handmade and long. All the cooks and customer service in the front were nice. Although I could've ordered from the kiosk which was easy to navigate I still ordered in the front. Highly recommend this spot.
