Take my advice and don't buy at Cowboy Dodge in Silsbee, TX. Don't make the mistake of trading in another vehicle on it, sell it yourself, I promise you will get much more than they are going to give you for it . I know I traded in a 2011 Ford F-150 4x4 off road with a lift kit and new tires and wheels from Pro-Comp. When I traded it in they would only give me $32,000 for it. A friend of my wife went to look at it and was quoted a price of $39,995 for it and even told her that they had given the previous owner $34,995 for it . I can see them making a profit but almost $8,000 off of 1 trade in. then you have to think about the $5,000 rebates that were assigned to the dealer, then it grows to approximately $13,000 that they had made off of this one deal. If that isn't bad enough the then stuck in $1,000 in cash as part of the contract. I really couldn't see why we owed them another $1,000. It was brilliantly hidden in all of the numbers on the contract. We signed it so we owed it. I thought that my wife had written them a check because when the hateful old lady with red hair had us sign the final contract my wife asked her if that was it, so I assumed that she had given them a check because the ladies reply was yes that's everything. a couple of days later I got a voicemail from the younger lady telling me that my wife didn't give them a check and that they needed it TODAY! A day earlier it had dawned on me that I couldn't find the socket to remove the locking lug nuts if I had a flat tire. The next afternoon when I got off of work I went to the dealership with the purpose of giving them a check & getting a socket that wouldn't fit my locking lug nuts. As soon as I walked in this guy who I later learned was named Zack and was the sales manager, Said where is Thomas Weaver? I said I am and he said it's about time you brought the check we've been trying to collect. I told him about the lug nut socket and he had a serviceman go to I assume was a demo , took the socket and said it wouldn't fit. I told them there was 4 more trucks just like mine so why didn't they try all of them because surely 1 of them would fit. Zack said he'd have it taken to the shop while I gave the red headed woman the check. When I went outside my truck was still parked in the same spot , with the same lug nuts on it. My wife stopped payment on the check and told them when I got the socket for my lug nuts they would get the $1,000. The next day the redheaded woman came to my job and began making all kinds of threats about charging me with a felony and grand theft auto among others. I was so embarrassed to have my business all out in the open because all of my co-workers said they heard what she was saying. I went straight to the band and got $1,000 in cash and went to the dealership to pay them and get my lug nut socket. I was told to see Zack, who immediately started almost yelling at me and saying I'm not going to let you hold this dealership hostage ?? I said you are holding my lug nut socket hostage but I had $1,000 cash on me and if he would just replace my lug nuts or give me the socket that fit the ones on my truck ,I would be more than happy to give you this $1,000 and be done with all of this. I said why don't you solve the lug nut problem and I'll solve the money problem. he said you haven't completed your side of the contract and I said neither have you, you sold me a $54,000 truck that I'm afraid I'm going to have a flat and be stranded and although it might be 1 small item I consider it a necessary part of the truck. Again he said you are making 2 things into 1 and holding this dealership hostage, he then picked something up off of the desk and threw it on the floor and said I am not going to deal with this so we are going to file a warrant for you and prosecute to the full extent of the law. I again told him solve my lug nut problem and I'll give you the $1,000 cash just as soon as I have a lug nut socket so that I can change tires if I had a flat. He just walked by me and disappeared. A couple of days later they called and said they had a new set of locking lug nuts with the socket that they would change out. They had to go out to the sales lot like I had asked them to do and found a socket in 1 of the other trucks that fit my lug nuts as soon as they removed the old and put on the new ones , I went to the cashier and gave her my credit card and she charged the $1,000 dollars and thank God I Hoped it was all finally over. Without my knowledge my wife put something about the charge with the card company requesting a detailed explanation of why we still owed them $1,000 . So today a policeman showed up at my job and told me about the stoppage of the credit card so I would need to go to the bank & get cash , which I did and payed them off, I pray, while I was there the officer asked if they were holding up registration of my truck and was told , yes. He then said you have the cash so now get his registration done. read more
