My niece is attending this college and was in this season's first production of Romeo and Juliet (she was the Nurse). The location is easy to find within the campus and is right on Jamestown Rd up the street from the Restoration area. There is plenty of parking available for performances not too far from the entrance. The seats are arranged in typical stadium style but unlike some other college theaters, they were very comfortable to stay in for a 3.5 hour performance. The stage is large enough that you could hear/see everything without too much trouble. There are box seats available for a more private seating. While it isn't an overly large theater, it was still sufficient space for these performances. Ticket prices are very reasonable in comparison to the park. I really recommend supporting these students that work so hard to entertain.

It appears very unassuming from the outside. At night, there are some really nice lights that come on. There also seemed to be an outdoor stage setup. The concert I saw was amazing and everything sounded great. My only complaint: most of the patrons were so loud and obnoxious and more interested in their own drunken banter, which made it difficult to hear the music even though I was front row. If you're going to a concert (or doing anything else for that matter) and feel the need to get drunk or high in order to enjoy it, then that's a problem of your own that needs to be addressed and dealt with properly, not by subjecting others to it and robbing them of their own natural ability to live life. Other than that, it was a great evening. Nice place and I wouldn't mind returning to see another show. I just hope that the crowd there will want to see a show too and not take away from who we actually pay to see.

Came here recently with my parents since it had been on our list of spots to try ever since they moved to the area. You might think you're in the wrong place when you walk in and see a ton of pianos for sale, but nope: the manager comes right over, escorts you to where the museum itself starts, and sets you on the path. He was very personable and was a veritable museum of musical knowledge himself, great intro to a great experience. This place is nothing short of a mesmerizing medley of some of the strangest musical instruments you have ever seen, along with an incredibly cool collection of memorabilia from esteemed Virginia musicians, some recent and many from days long departed. I thought the automatic banjo machine was particularly cool, never seen one before and probably never will again. The entire thing took us about three hours to work our way through and it was quite an education. It is mostly reading though they have a few interactive exhibits on the top floor, and they seem to be actively planning even more which is always nice to see. If you have a passion for music both old and new, I definitely recommend stopping by!
