The theatre is small and classic with a little concessions area and nice bathrooms. It's a single-level theatre but the seats are angled well enough that no one's going to block your view of the stage. Really, any seat is a good seat. I attended the inaugural Virginia Cat Festival (day 1) here, with Jackson Galaxy as the keynote speaker. I enjoyed my visit all around and the venue was clearly clean and well-kept. I'd attend another event there in the future.

There were some excellent illusions, but what really made the show was the crowd work and enthusiasm of Brandon and Hannah Wagster. And again, the illusions were excellent. There were several moments my husband and I looked at each other and asked each other how it was even possible to do what they did. They also did a fantastic job of keeping the show entertaining for children and adults alike. Anyway, this is one of those spots that can easily get overlooked among all of the historical sites and things to do in Colonial Williamsburg, but it absolutely deserves a spot on the itinerary. It was fun, surprisingly impressive, and really something different to do on a Saturday evening. I highly recommend checking it out if you're visiting Williamsburg or even if you're a local looking for something different. We had a great time and absolutely look forward to going again next year when we are in VA.

They perform about six shows September through June, with a mix of plays and musicals in their own comfortable theater. Tickets sell for under $25 a show. Season ticket holders can easily exchange their tickets for another performance if they cannot attend the one they originally purchased. Parking is free in their lot. Concessions of beverages and candy support the theater. Local artists exhibit their work on the walls, which patrons can enjoy before the show and at intermission.

The vet said I couldn't pick uo the cat before 2pm. I called to ask to change to the 7pm show. You said I had to be there before 2pm. It's a 45 minute drive. I would not have made it to you before 2pm. I worked at a movie theater. People would call up all the time to change their tickets and I'd do it over the phone. This is sh!t customer service.

This is a great historical attraction, but you have to know how to navigate it. The signs around…read morethe historical section are not great at all. We stayed a few miles away, so we drove in and parked at the visitors center (paid parking). Go inside the visitors center to get your passes & maps (make sure you get the clip passes as every person manning the doors at the different houses will ask). Go down to the bottom of the visitors center and catch the WATA bus to go into the historical section. We started at the governor's mansion and walked from there. You'll easily get 10,000 steps if you see the whole property, if you have mobility issues you definitely should rent a scooter (there are quite a few rental spots around the visitors center). You can take the WATA bus to most of the big attractions, but walking through really gives you the whole experience. We made the mistake of going on a 95° day in August and quickly realized there is little shade on property. Be prepared to be in direct sun most of the day. We had someone in our group who was hard of hearing using hearing aids, and it was quite hard to hear a lot of the tour guides in the buildings with the echoes. Emily in the governors mansion was the best tour guide by far. A must see attraction, but do your research and plan your trip before coming

Colonial Williamsburg should be so much easier to visit than it is…read more We visited as a family and were really looking forward to the experience, but left disappointed largely because the wayfinding is so poor. The printed map is surprisingly difficult to use, directional signage is inadequate, and it is often unnecessarily hard to work out where you are and how to get to the next attraction or program. And it wasn't just us. I lost count of how many visitors we saw standing staring at maps, apparently trying to figure out where to go next. This was especially frustrating because someone in our party has limited mobility following recent surgery. Walking several hundred yards in the wrong direction isn't just an inconvenience in that situation. In 2026, a major attraction covering an area this large should have proper smartphone navigation. You should be able to select "Governor's Palace," a particular program, restaurant, restroom, or bus stop and get GPS walking directions from your current location, along with distance, accessibility information, and estimated walking time. Better physical directional signs are badly needed as well. There is so much history here and clearly an enormous amount of work goes into preserving and interpreting it. The problem is finding it. Colonial Williamsburg could be a wonderful visitor experience. Unfortunately, today we spent far too much time trying to figure out where we were and where we were supposed to go. This is a very fixable problem, and I hope they fix it.

I thought we were really running late and were going to l be rushing to get in before doors closed but we got in with 20 minutes to spare. Getting through security was a breeze. Allied Universal did a great job getting people through efficiently. I had a clear bag so they didn't even have to search through it. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the security at the door to the usher who helped us find our seat. We purchased our ticket on Ticketmaster and they were super easy to quickly pull up and scan using the Apple Wallet feature. The show was fantastic and Josh Johnson was hilarious. I do recommend that if you want to buy merch or have to use the bathroom you do so before the show ends because it's quite chaotic with everyone trying to leave at the same time. The location of the men's bathroom on the second floor goes against the flow of the crowd of you're on the first floor like we were. All in all though I highly recommend this venue and would not hesitate to see a show here again.

There was one bathroom to the left of the stage on the hill open for an event where there was 2,000 people! There was an additional bathroom a pretty far distance from the amphitheater towards the front of the park. There weren't any signs to direct you to the park from the parking lot or to show where the VIP area was. Hopefully this location works out the kinks!

I would definitely reccomend a show here just for the ambiance alone, the theater inside is stunning with so many things to look at. Why is it that I always feel like I'm taking a flight when I go to see a show. This is absolutely true here as well. I'm at 6'3" and my neighbor was about that wide. To say it was an uncomfortable seat was a crazy understatement. Oh well, taking a cue from a discount airline: pack them in. I wouldn't be cranky if it was just the seat. The Roman empire did better in logistics for shows. Trying to go to the bathroom was a joke and don't even think of getting a drink during intermission. This place is just not laid out for a full show logistics. GO for the Nutcracker. Anything else, might not be worth the squeeze.
