This time we showed up 10 minutes early and they said they were running 5-10 minutes behind because of "cleaning issues". Well it turned into 20 minutes late so thankfully we already canceled our dinner reservations. I think it would've been fine if it wasn't $250 for a family of five for 38 minutes and the ninja trials escape room was not as exciting or interesting as dragon tower. Also one of the equipment pieces we were given was faulty so that made it less fun for one of us.

Pelagos VR is a fantastic addition to the area for unique entertainment, and there are so many…read moreoptions within it! Just as a quick rundown, there are three main types of VR here: the front area where you are strapped into a VR system and can run in place, a virtual escape room, and a VR action arena (large room with VR cameras on the walls and you can physically run around). I haven't tried the escape room and I liked the strap-in ones, though it's the VR arena that really elevates this place. So far I have done Patient Zero and several rounds of the Urban Assault in the arena, and it's an amazing experience. Between the excellent physical tracking, the true-recoil VR guns, and the actual movement in the real world mapping to the VR world, it is insanely immersive and easy to adapt to. It is quite exciting too: I was fortunate enough to participate in their latest tournament and it was chaotic fun from start to finish. The tournaments are a special treat because for now the entry fee is only $20 while the regular experiences run a fair bit more, so it's an insanely good deal for the amount of fun you're having. On top of the excellent experiences, I would be remiss if I didn't highlight their incredible staff. This is mostly a family-run place and it shows with how kind and personable everyone here is, with positive attitudes, a true love for what they do, and excellent mastery of VR tech and training new players. I have met the owner twice and he goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated for their visits. The most underrated part here is actually nothing to do with VR but actually their bar offerings: the happy hour here is every day of the week (including weekends) and you can get $4 beers (including a few local drafts) and very reasonably priced appetizers. If I were in the area and just wanted a quick beer with a friend before doing something else, I would absolutely come here for it at those fantastic prices. Since Pelagos VR is attached to the mall, there is plenty of lot parking very close by, so no issues there. Really the only drawback of this place is the price, particularly if you come by yourself or one other person as their price structure rewards larger groups. I would absolutely come here with a friend group because of that though a date night here would add up fast. I look forward to coming here again with friends, especially for the tournaments. This is one heck of an outing to look forward to! Our group of 6 was able to escape but definitely used some hints along the way. One item malfunctioned requiring the attendant to come in the room with us, but we were still able to move on. Lots of nice and unique components. It is a good way to spend a cold or rainy afternoon but they often book up on those days. Currently, we hold the record for 62 mins to get out of the room (allowed up to 80 on this particular room)

So if you're interested in those categories, make a mental note of a few games so you know what to play instead of searching around. I also saw when playing Rotten Apple, the controller accuracy was a bit off. I don't know if the game needed to be updated or what because the accuracy was fine when I played Shooty Fruity. Overall, I would recommend people to try this place out for indoor entertainment whether it's with friends, as a date, or even by yourself! Also wear comfortable, breathable clothing because you put on headgear/goggles, a microphone, a vest, wrist sensors, and ankle sensors. It's not a time to be looking all cute . Be sure to have a team name in mind because they will ask you for one! You also get a handle you can create individually so your stats show up after the game indicating your accuracy, kills, and points if you do the DEADWOOD ZOMBIE games -- which I highly recommend. SO. FUN!!!! Arrive 15 minutes early (or more) because you need to find parking. Parking can be expensive -- just don't do the open lot close to Only Renee's; that one was crazy pricey when we checked. You can have a max of 6 players in a game. If you have less than 6, there's a possibility randos could join you. Fortunately, we did not -- we only had 3 in our group. I tell you, I was screaming my head off in DEADWOOD VALLEY. I'm surprised my friend and sister did not tell me to shut up. I was LOUD. When you finish playing you have an opportunity to do a back-to-back game for 20% off, which my sister and I did. We went for Squid Games, which was entertaining. The ones we played had 5 different mini-games -- somewhat similar to the show, some modified. I tell ya though, I had challenges getting back up from the floor when I fell because of the sensory balls that jut from your ankle bracelets. Staff were friendly and patient. Zeke was our original host -- he took the time to brief us on equipment and the rules. There was a slight hiccup where my sister's and my friend's avatars got mixed up. They were going to correct it, but we didn't want to lose play time re-doing the pics. If you're celebrating a birthday they do this cool thing -- I'll add that later because we're celebrating another friend's birthday soon and I don't want to give it away.
