    Dress was left too big
    Sarah C.

After spending almost $900 on alterations, I was very disappointed when they told me at my last appointment to use double sided tape to keep my straps in place. I was recommended to this salon from other people from work that used her. Once I got there, I was surprised because I always felt like I was a burden and that I needed to hurry up so they could go tend to someone else. My last appointment, I expressed that I felt the bust was too big and my straps were moving too much. It was at that time I was told to use double sided tape. You could see the pads into my dress in SO MANY of my wedding photos. I also tried to keep my shoulders shrugged as I felt I was one move away from a nip slip at any point. My last appointment was also disappointing because they told me to get into my dress and didn't come back for 30 MINUTES. Then they ignored my concerns and I was left with a dress that was constantly falling off. I'm giving 3 stars because my dress was wearable and they didn't lose anything. My advice is to shop around, and try a smaller place where you will get more one on one attention and feel heard.

Donna Beth saved our day. I chose a custom made dress which was ultimately made to the wrong measurements. The dress had to be sent back to Israel, remade, and did not arrive until 6 weeks before our wedding. Donna Beth graciously accommodated our short timeline and provided me with the most beautifully fitted, hemmed, and bustled gown. Thanks for being our hero!

My photographer fixing my dress ON my wedding day after failed alterations by Donna Beth

They completely ruined my dress. My photographer was cutting my dress 2 hours before walking down the aisle. After 5 weeks of attempting to reach Donna Beth about the dress, she openly reports she refuses to talk to us about it. We have multiple texts, emails, and pictures of them admitting their mistake before the wedding and now they won't take responsibility. Based on reading more reviews, this appears to be a common theme. Proceed with caution if you use this business.

Donna Beth was amazing!!! When I ordered my wedding dress it needed quite a bit taken in, she did an amazing job keeping the lace detail perfect, and the fit was amazing, while also adding some buttons and detail to ends of the sleeves. The service was impeccable, everything was done on time, super easy to get ahold of, while also being so friendly and helpful. I last minute decided to get a jumpsuit for my wedding a week before I left for Mexico, she had no problem getting it fixed up for me and it was perfect! Thank you!!!!

I cannot thank the team at Donna Beth enough! Like many I was a Covid bride, I bought my dress in a different state in 2019 so had to find a new boutique for alterations once I moved to Denver. They were wonderful from the first meeting, always accommodating my requests even though I changed my mind part way through. They're wonderful and would highly recommend to anybody

I was referred to Donna Beth Creations from my bridal shop and so glad I went there! First of all her space is huge and gorgeous. Each appointment I felt more and more beautiful in my gown, it looked incredible! I also had to postpone my wedding due to covid and they were so sweet and accommodating - held on to my dress for 5 extra months. This dress fit me like a glove and definitely looked like a "made for me" dress! Just gorgeous. Highly recommend.

Lace attached to train. Also took in backside for a little more booty definition.

Donna beth did such an amazing job making my dress & veil vision come to life!! I originally picked my dress in Dallas and planned to do all my alterations there, but when COVID hit, I didn't want to travel back for my final few changes. I found Donna Beth based on a couple recommendations from friends and I am so happy I did! they were a little pricier than my original plans, but it was well worth it. I wanted to add some lace to the train and they created the most beautiful train! I even had some extra lace, so they helped me create a custom cathedral veil and it was absolutely breathtaking! I plan to visit them again to get my dress altered into a cocktail dress that I can wear again. I would highly recommend them.

The entire wedding industry is a racket. I stand by that statement, even after purchasing a dress and having it altered by a really awesome tailor. But you know what they say, don't hate the player, hate the game. Donna Beth is as good as it gets. At least in my experience working with alterations people over the years. This shop specializes in wedding attire -- bridal gowns especially -- but it looks like they also offer bridesmaid dresses, veils, jewelry, pretty much all the necessities for a formal wedding. The gals at Donna Beth originally took my measurements before I purchased a dress. It was a $25 fee that was paid up front, and that $25 was credited to my account for alterations made at a later time. When I purchased my gown from another store in Denver, an estimated delivery time was given and all I had to do was call Donna Beth and schedule a series of fittings before the wedding. Yes, it's a series of fittings, usually about four. Normally a size 4-6 in regular clothes, my wedding dress was ordered in a size 10. Needless to say there were some areas that were too big and too long. Donna Beth and her team took care if it like pros. They've seen just about every designer and gown and, as a result, are familiar with the look each bride is trying to achieve. They asked other important questions too, like the location of the festivities, so your dress matched the venue and time of year. For my gown, I had cups added to the bust and a bustle on the train. The DB team did just what I wanted and my dress looked lovely on my wedding day! I ended up getting quite a bit of dirt and wine on my gown, and it's currently being cleaned at a professional shop in Denver as well, but that's another story altogether. If you're spending $$ or more on a fancy dress, might as well go the full mile and go to a local expert. Alterations ended up being about $800, but that's not nearly as much as my dress cost from the shop and it's one of the key pieces to a fancy wedding. I would wholeheartedly recommend Donna Beth for your special day dress needs.

Donna Beth and her staff are miracle workers! They made my dress fit perfectly and were so flexible with appointments, despite COVID-19. I could not be happier with the way my dress turned out. Thank you for making me feel confident and beautiful like a perfect bride!

Donna Beth was recommended to me when I bought my dress at Luv Bridal in Denver. I decided to go with this seamstress since she has experience working on designer gowns with lots of lace/beading and I just didn't want to risk any issues with my alterations, even if it meant driving up to Denver (I live in the Springs) for my appointments. When I ordered my dress from Luv, I had already paid for a custom length dress (I'm 5'1), but I needed to take in the sides, add an S curve under the booty, get the dress bustled, and take in the hips. I was pretty shocked that the cost of these alterations would be another $500 on top of the $150 I already paid for the hem/custom length, I thought it would be more in the range of $200-300. Anyway, I decided to go with Donna Beth since she was recommended to me by Luv. I went to all of my fittings by myself, and during my first appointment, I felt pretty comfortable and welcome. When I went back for my second appointment, I was horrified to find that my dress had been taken in to the point that it wouldn't zip up the last 3.5-4 inches (when before it was loose). I was told not to worry (but of course I did since my wedding was only a few weeks away), and to come back for my final fitting on the evening of Monday 3/13. I expressed my concerns because I was flying out for our wedding on Wednesday 3/15 (less than 48 hours later, and I live in the Springs and wasn't looking forward to driving to Denver 3 days in a row), and needed everything to be perfect. Again, I was told not to worry. When I went in for my 3rd and final fitting, Donna enlisted the help of another girl to zip me in to my dress.. again I was worried it was way too tight, since she couldn't zip it herself, and I felt squished and like I could barely breathe. Donna assured me that the dress would loosen up over time, which thank goodness it did! Overall, I was happy with the final outcome of the alterations - but the stressful part in the middle where I was left panicking about whether or not this dress would zip up on my final appointment (a day and a half before I flew out for my wedding) added extra, unnecessary stress during an already SUPER stressful time! The price of the alterations and the added stress of having the dress taken in too far are my reasons for not giving a higher rating. Otherwise, I do think she did a great job with the alterations to my dress and I do believe she pays great attention to detail.

I recently took a $2K couture evening gown to Orhan for fit alterations (it was too big) and a…read moreredesign of one element of the dress. The fit alterations need revision as the top half of the gown does not fit and feels twisted on my body. The problems are: a. The center of the bodice is no longer in the center, clearly evident due to the sheer illusion panel in the front (see photo). b. The waist was taken in too much so it is tight and causing puckering at the back waist and the zipper is misshapen (see photo). c. The skirt of the gown has puckering (that I have experienced in the past caused by the lining not being adjusted correctly when the dress was shortened). Orhan said he left room in the waist that could be let out to fit, and he thought this would also correct the problem of the off-center bodice. He denied that the puckering in the skirt had anything to do with the lining and took great offense to my blaming the puckering on his workmanship. He said there is no puckering. The puckering all the way down the diagonal front seam is obvious (see photo). He agreed that he would address problems a. and b. at no further charge as I already spent $650 for the original alterations. In the same sentence he also offered to refund my money. Then he threw out a zinger...he said "I think you have had a problem with us from the beginning". I wasn't sure if he was accusing me of ethnic racism or something else. I told him of my long history with Erol and Feliz before the business was sold to him and his partner, and he said that Erol and Feliz were good business people but horrible tailors, and that he was the excellent tailor. He repeated "you have had a problem with us from the beginning". My husband spoke up this time because I have been unfailingly polite to him and everyone in his shop. I did want him to fix the dress so it was wearable but after him going down this path I decided to take the refund and leave. When someone claims to be "the best", "an expert", "tradition of quality", holds considerable experience in dress alteration services", and charges the prices they do, they should expect to be accountable when there is a substandard outcome, especially when working on such an expensive garment. I took photos and measurements of the altered dress because the naked eye doesn't always see everything, and this seemed to offend him too, but it helped me understand why the dress felt twisted. He should have been embarrassed by the work product, not angry at me. I do not know if the gown can be fixed. The two shoulders are no longer the same width. The left front bodice is not the same length as the right front bodice when measuring shoulder seam to waist seam. Same problem in the back of the bodice which clearly does not have a level horizontal waist seam anymore (see photo).

To say the least, this was a traumatizing experience. After asking questions about additional charges that were dropped on me, he proceeded to attack me regarding the fee's; he accused me of being difficult to work with, lashing out at me over text messages and adding fake fee's to my bill, including pet feces clean up. I am unsure where she got this notion. The job was supposed to be measurements, creation and hanging the new curtains. Once I started to question these phantom charges, he sent me a message basically saying I did not read the terms. Yes, there were terms, but he was lying about the fee's she was adding to my invoice. I begged him to honor our original quote, but she was not giving in. I told himthat I would write him a bad review and his response was that since i was going to leave a bad review, he did not have to commit to our agreement. Guess what? My curtains were left in front of my apartment building, on the curb in TRASH BAGS. And just so everyone knows, I paid the invoice in full despite the traumatizing experience he placed upon me. I am now left with trash bags and wrinkled curtains that I was trying to have hung for my family thanksgiving meal. See pictures attached. I also have text messages. Way to go "Trim and Proper". I really hope that she comes to her senses and realizes this is horrible ethics before it's too late for his business.
