Needed a repair on a Maytag washer that wasn't agitating. I did a certain amount of troubleshooting and was somewhat sure it needed a new timer. But I wanted confirmation before ordering the part, so I called Don and he came out the next day. In about 2 minutes he confirmed it was the timer and recommended that I just go ahead and order one from Amazon and put it in myself since I had done a good job figuring out what the problem was, and it was not that difficult repair for a DIYer. I gave him a 5 star rating because while he was there he offered to check and clean the dryer and replace the dryer vent hose for an additional $10 (just a few dollars more than the cost of buying the vent hose myself). It was good that he checked it because it really needed to be replaced. In addition, his service call price was about 35% less than another service I called. Don was quick, courteous, very knowledgeable and reasonably priced. Next time I have an appliance issue I will be calling him. I did order the part from Amazon as he suggested and was able to complete the repair myself. Washer is running great again. read more

Don has been our appliance repair man since 1986!! He knows all about every kind of appliance. He has repaired my (still working) 40 year old double ovens, washer, dryer, and dishwasher over the years. If he can't fix something, he will tell you so. He also will let you know if something is not worth fixing. I appreciate his honesty and professional approach. He is on time, and if runs into a problem, will call. Once, during the Christmas holiday I had a houseful of people staying for 10 days---obviously not a time for my dryer to stop working! I found Don's through another review online. I was having issues with the notoriously troublesome GE Arctica fridge at my parents' condo. I left a message and got a call back with 10 minutes or so, and spoke with a very helpful fellow who gave me some great advice. He didn't try to sell me anything or talk me into some big repairs , and he spent several minutes talking with me about the fridge even after he realized there was nothing in it for him. I really appreciate this type of customer service, and always make it a point to leave a positive review when I come across it. I phoned Don and left a message that I needed a repair of our clothes washer. Soon thereafter he returned the call. He asked me for details of the problem and how old the washer is. The problem was in the electronics and the washer is 10 years old. He answered that it would cost about $300 to repair the washer. And said that's a lot of money to spend fixing a 10 year old washer. He didn't try to sell me a new washer. I requested his recommendation for what washer to buy, and he provided both make and model. Don is a high integrity guy. We called Don to fix a dryer starter switch I had "self-repaired" a month before. He arrived the morning after my call, had the dryer control panel removed within two minutes, and diagnosed the problem almost immediately. His solution was simple and inexpensive. He also checked to confirm that the dryer venting system was not plugged. He was quick and thorough, and the charge was very reasonable. I sent Don an email thru Yelp this morning and within 20 min he responded. He was able to come to my home within 2 hours of initial contact to fix my washer. He was very honest about my repair cost vs new washer. As he was here he looked at my dryer and replaced the vent at no additional charge!
