We were concerned because I've never cut a tree down, my knees aren't great, and I didn't know how much crouching and lifting I would need to do. I didn't need to worry! They gave us a business card with their phone number and directed us to the area where the type of trees we were looking for were located, and told us to call the number when we found it. They then drove an ATV up, cut & loaded our tree in, and drove us back down. Once there, they shook and baled the tree for us. I was happy that it was such a fun and stress-free way to get the freshest tree that fits our house AND fit in my hatchback. I highly recommend Hughes Family Tree Farm for both people who want the Full Family Tree Cutting experience, as well as those who just want a better, fresher selection than pre-cut tree lots.

We had an idea of what we wanted, and within minutes they were gathering pieces from around the grounds and building two complete fountains right in front of us so we could compare styles, sound, and flow. They filled each fountain by hand, balanced them perfectly, and turned them on so we could experience the full effect. We were honestly blown away. The craftsmanship, the care, and the attention to detail were on another level. Stefan's pricing is more than fair -- especially considering we had looked online beforehand and anything comparable was well over $3,000. His deal was so good we couldn't pass it up. He answered every question with patience and expertise, and let us know they could deliver to the Fisher's Landing area after glazing the piece, which we requested. Just as promised, Stefan called on Wednesday and arrived promptly for delivery. He and his one man crew handled the extremely heavy base with ease and professionalism, bringing everything carefully around to our backyard. In under 30 minutes, they had the fountain set, filled, leveled, running beautifully, and even treated the water with algicide. The level of service was truly above and beyond. I picked my box up at the farm, but I had my choice of two farmers markets for pick up, too. It's convenient and fast. Lily, one of the owners, greeted me and showed me where my box was waiting for me. Lil' Starts' communication is clear and consistent: I receive an email every Sunday before my Saturday pick up on what to expect in the upcoming box. I signed up for a full share for every other week, which seems perfect for 2 people. I'm glad that participating in Community Supported Agriculture is so easy and delicious with Lil' Sarts--it's a prepaid up front in January affair, so it can feel like a bit of a risk. Trust me--it's a risk I'm glad I took because the pay off is wonderful, fresh food, and I'm supporting a local farm. Yes, I could do the same through farmers' markets, and I have. But this experience, and getting to see the farm and meet the farmers is important to me-- it's also a glimpse into how I grew up. The website for this farm indicates that the CSA shares are sold out for the 2018 season, which stretches from May to October. I can hardly wait for my next box and to see how the growing season expands into the next eating adventure.
