New Hunter Douglas Silhouette PowerView shades in our living room, in the tilt position

We have a living room with large windows facing the city view. We had Don's Drapery install Hunter Douglas Silhouette PowerView shades and absolutely love the new shades! They are beautiful and transform the room to give it an upscale look. The "Internet cloud-enabled" shades automatically raise, lower, and tilt depending on the time of day, so now we can enjoy the view during the day without having to remember to close them at night. The automation flexibility is amazing. I'm setting up the shades so that they will automatically open whenever it starts raining or the Santa Ana winds blow faster than 40mph (because we like to watch interesting weather outside the window). This is easy to do by registering and linking the Hunter Douglas cloud service with the popular IFTTT service. We were able to get the best looking shades because Don's showroom has so many displays and fabric samples to explore. It took about 2 weeks for the shades to arrive from the factory in Denver Colorado. The installers are always very nice and helpful showing how to operate the system. It's backed by a lifetime warranty so that was another important consideration. I'll see if I can figure out how to post a couple photos here..

We had all of the windows in our home replaced by Legendary Cal-Rep Windows in 2020, and…read moreunfortunately, our experience has been incredibly frustrating ever since. Shortly after installation, we discovered that the large staircase window leaked whenever it rained. Over the past five years, their "fix" was repeatedly applying messy exterior silicone that looked terrible and never solved the issue. At one point, they even suggested the leak might be caused by something within our home rather than the window itself. Eventually, they replaced the window and discovered the original installation they had ordered the wrong size window and had tried to just fill the gaps in and make it work. The second replacement was faulty, requiring yet another order and installation. Now, in 2026, the newest window was installed but still does not function. A Milgard representative inspected it and confirmed the issue is due to improper installation. Despite all of this, we still have no resolution, and there has been little to no proactive effort from the company to make things right. We are extremely disappointed with the product, installation, and overall service. Messages are ignored or we are told they are "checking on the status" but we never hear back. I will update this review if we EVER receive a proper resolution! I am in the customer service business myself, so to have a company treat you this way is so very disappointing.

Because of the construction dust, I couldn't see the glass clearly at first. But after a thorough cleaning, I was shocked to find deep scratches all over the brand-new glass. Here is why you should stay away: Absurd Pricing: I was charged a staggering $15,000 for installation alone. They sent only two workers for two days. That is a lot of profit. Damaged Goods: They installed scratched, low-quality glass. Ghosting Customers: When I tried to reach out for a resolution, I found out that many other customers are reporting they "changed ownership" as an excuse to avoid taking responsibility for their previous mistakes. They take your money ($15k for labor!) and leave you with damaged products, then vanish. This is not a "Legendary" company; it's a predatory business. Save your money and your sanity--Stay away from Legendary Windows!  It wouldn't allow me to give 0 star

They explained the process before starting and we're considerate when the front door entry was limited access while they had the stucco dry. They also verified the small detail changes in the door handle and had me try the door several times before they left. I was impressed by the end result. I made an appointment, and they completely stood me up. Later, they claimed they tried to call me or left a voicemail to change the appointment, which is not true. They never called or left any message. I have documentation as evidence, but I chose not to continue the conversation because Max kept defending himself and arguing instead of trying to resolve the issue. They also had my mailing address incorrect. I spoke with Max the day before my appointment to correct it, yet there were still multiple errors. Overall, the business seems very unorganized. The receptionist told me Max was in the office, so I was surprised when Max later claimed my appointment was with a different representative. This inconsistency felt very unprofessional and questionable. I took time out of my day for this appointment, and it is extremely rude and unprofessional that they never showed up. I do not recommend doing business with this company. There are many other businesses that provide much better customer service.

The windows I ordered are beautiful and top of the line (Simonton energy efficient vinyl windows),…read morebut the installation was poorly done. Within five months of the installation, I noticed the trim they installed on the inside along one of the two new windows had come almost entirely undone, to the point that there were huge openings and I could see the insulation foam they used in the gaps. I even had a bee somehow get through into the room thanks to the poor installation. For the amount paid, I was frustrated to realize they hadn't done a better job. Next time I'm in need of new windows etc., I'll be sure to look elsewhere. Update: There also appears to be gaps along the top exterior side of the other window - I heard some kind of large insect (we get alot of bees and wasps around my building) buzzing and trying to escape from inside there. Luckily the interior trim remained sealed on this window at least. But once again, I find myself disappointed with the installation.

All other windows in the house had been replaced previously, and most companies had a minimum order quantity that didn't make sense for our project, or had long lead times that would have been problematic for the timeline of our project. The sales rep Tim was on time to his appointment, quickly assessed and measured the window, and got the process started. He was readily available for updates, and the window was available very quickly! The install was done well and matches the other windows in our house. We are VERY happy with Cal Replacement windows and will definitely use them again in the future for any other windows we might need.
