I decided to give The Color Coach a try after 3 weeks of agonizing over paint color for the interior of my home. I wanted to get it right since this would be the first time we painted our home since purchase 10 years prior. Up until this point, we had been living with white walls throughout. I contacted Paula who was able to come to my home a few days after our conversation and just 2 days prior to when the painters were set to arrive. She immediately got to work looking at the layout of my home and explained what she looks for to help choose the best colors. During a recent home renovation I was struggling to select colors for painting my walls and kitchen cabinets. A friend referred me to Kathleen Jewel, the Color Coach. Turns out Kathleen had painted fairies in our daughter's room almost 16-years earlier, as well as some decorative wall art in our kitchen. Kathleen recently helped my wife and I pick the paint for the interior of our house. We knew we wanted white but quickly became overwhelmed with the expanse of different undertones and options. I was very unsure of how to paint the front of my house since there is so much going on and I knew I wanted it to look different from everyone else. I called The Color Coach because I had been agonizing for weeks over finishes/paint/colors for our "Phase 1" outdoor backyard project. We are doing a complete backyard remodel with pool, fireplace and outdoor kitchen and I wanted the finished result to match my plan for "Phase 2" which is the new front exterior paint of our house. I was frustrated because other designers I had initially called wanted me to come into their studio to see colors, etc. That seemed like a waste to me because how could I choose colors in someone else's studio? I knew Kathleen was the right fit immediately as she recommended the consultation be at my house during the day to be able to see the colors in the lighting in my yard. That made perfect sense! Paula has helped me choose paint color three times in the last eight years and I had a fabulous experience with her every time. She can "see" tiny nuances in color depending on furnishings, carpet and light. She flips through hundreds of paint samples and zeroes in on a selection that might work in my home. As my style has progressed from Italian-ish (darker paint and accent walls) to coastal (varying shades of white), Paula's recommendations have always been right on target. From our open plan kitchen/family room to small baths, she is unerring in her recommendations. In addition to wall color, Paula also helpfully suggests ceiling and baseboard colors and sheen. I trust her so much I don't even get paint samples, I just use her recommendations. The cost of the consultation is more than made up by not having to get paint samples or potentially make the wrong decision and end up having to repaint (as had happened previously with designer recommended colors).
