    The river at Dairy Queen
    Heather H.

Ok hadn't been here for quite awhile..I prefer another local place. Now this place isn't bad but I don't think it's as good. Hot dog was decent and burger was very thin..fries where very skinny ? Crinkle cut..never seen them like that..it ok..but nothing like years ago. Friendly enough staff and nice dining room overlooking the river.

This has to be one of the prettiest Dairy Queen's in America. The front is deceptive because the back dining room has huge glass windows that look 180 degrees at the new river. Takes eating a Blizzard to a whole new level.

This is one of the most unique Dairy Queen's in the United States! It's truly the last of its kind! It was built to over the New River and has huge bay windows that over look it! You almost feel like your on a fancy boat while you eat your food! You order right at the little window just like the old school way! The buns are grilled and you can get fresh Cole slaw on your hot dog! It's so good and a southern style hotdog! You get quality food here and I always have to stop when I come home! I hope this stick around and I get to take my kids here one day and let them experience the old school Dairy Queen way!

    Kids love this place!

Probably the prettiest view of any DQ in the country. I live to sit and look out over the river when we're here.

I was in the mood for some Biscuits & Gravy. We were informed they were out of that and were not making more. So I decided on Eggs over easy, Country Ham, Wheat toast and Grits. Then, because I don't find them often, I ordered Fried Green Tomatoes. My wife ordered the Breakfast Special with Eggs, Hash Browns, Sausage and Fried Apples. I also got a bottle of Apple Juice and water and my wife got Coffee. We sat down, enjoying the view and talking. And talked. And talked. Finally after 50 minutes our food came. It had obviously been sitting since all the food was cold. Had we not waited so long, we would have asked for a refund and left. And on top of that, the waitress forgot my Grits. She went back to get my Grits and came back 10 minutes later with hot Grits, but after I had finished the rest of my meal. Now this is a place that requires the payment and asks for a tip when you place the order, then food is brought out to you. I entered a 15% tip and would have also added more if service was good. Ok so in the future I will opt out of tip in advance. I know staffing is low in many places but that is no excuse for cold food and spotty service. The only reason for two stars is for the great views on screened in patio by the river. But we will not be back at Kirk's.

Visiting The Stashe in Fayetteville…read more While visiting the ring shop in Fayetteville, we stopped by The Stashe next door. We were in West Virginia with family and our dog, and were happy to see they offer a pup cup for dogs. I went with the Blue Panda after some deliberation, but also sampled the Dark Chocolate Raspberry--both were excellent. Portions are generous for the price, and even though my cup looked small, it was still a great bang for the buck. Here's what we had: * Pistachio (cone) * Blue Panda (cup) * Cappuccino Crunch (cup) * Pup Cup (for our dog) Every flavor was delicious, and we'd definitely come back when visiting Fayetteville and the surrounding West Virginia area.

There's a little bit of outdoor seating and a few tables inside but it's mostly to-go. They serve Hershey's brand ice cream and have a large selection, including sugar free and dairy free options! The space is very cute and has lots of fun stickers/posters/decor. Service was fast and friendly! I wasn't wowed by the flavor selection -- it didn't super suit my preferences -- but we did come at the end of the day at the end of the week, so I certainly could've had better luck at a different time. We all wound up with Moose Tracks (vanilla base, fudge ribbon, peanut butter cups) and it was enjoyable, like all Moose Tracks! We were happy and it was a nice way to round out our time in WV. If you're looking for a treat, this is a good option!

I had no idea exactly what this place was. My colleague kept referring to it as just a Moose. And a lot of use know that means something else, more in lines with a bar. The person that invited us out to here for the event didn't give us much information about what we should expect. But I am happy I came here, because of how unique of a place this is. Most people would assume that this may be a place for ice cream and you'd be partially right. This place is a mix of things that you would not expect. First and foremost, it is a well used coffee shop. Even though there is a well known national competitor right up the road. There is a steady stream of vehicles in and out throughout the day. Inside, in the coffee portion of the space, it gives definite coffee shop vibes. Couches, armchairs, tables, books, magazines, etc. That coziness could be a big draw on a cold day. I had myself a chai tea latte from here and it was delicious. They are quick with their ordering process and making of the drink. What else is here you ask? Well, let me tell you. There is an ice cream parlor tucked away on the opposite side of the coffee shop. You can enter this through the coffee shop or from the outside entrance on the side of the building. This area, then leads you to another location on the lot. Putt-Putt. Behind the building, there is a miniature golf course built into the hillside. One that is West Virginian history themed. Another thing this place has is an indoor climbing wall. I didn't get a chance to check that out.
