a fried donut on a plate

I went to Donut Days to buy my co-workers an after-Thanksgiving treat. I am not a pastry connoisseur. There is no menu available, so I apologized when the woman came to the window. I had to ask her (very friendly looking older lady) about item names and 3 specific requests. The first were apple fritters and the second was a jelly-filled (rasberry?) donut with a white-icing on top. The third was chocolate-icing with creme-filled donut. She nodded with apple fritter request. To the 2nd request, she replied, "I only have jelly-filled glazed." And, to the third request, she said, "Long-Johns?" I answered, "Yeah, that sounds right!" I asked her for a dozen of the glazed jelly-filled, 6 of the apple fritters, and 6 of the long-johns. The order came to a little over $42.00. Everyone was surprised that I actually picked up something other than biscuits! Unfortunately, the main request was the apple fritters. There were 4 people that requested them specifically. One person had asked for the chocolate creme-filled. One of my co-workers bit into her apple-fritter and said "Ow!" I won't go into the whole exchange, but it turns out that the pastry was extremely hard and burned. I asked 2 others that got the fritters and they said that theirs were burnt as well and not very good. Like I said at the beginning, I'm not a pastry connoisseur. However, I do know my trade and if I were a baker or a bakery employee, I would have easily seen the burnt edges and bottom of the pastry that indicated they were over cooked. Greatly disappointed and will not go there again.

Stopped at Donut Days for, what else, donuts, and I needed bread. There was a single loaf of salt rise bread, so I purchased that, a jelly donut and two glazed. The aroma in my car tempted me, but I resisted until I reached home. Growing up, jelly donuts were one of my faves. This one was pillowy and filled with a tart jelly, which I liked, but that New York jelly donut of my youth still has no comparison. The glazed donuts are for tomorrow. There's a counter for indoor eating and a drive thru for your covenience. I give it an OK. 61

I stopped in a few moments before closing on a Sunday. The woman was sooooooo sweet - she gave me extra of EVERYTHING but was such a NINJA about it, I didn't notice until I got home. I ordered a peanut butter cookie and a double chocolate donut. She gave me 2 donuts, 3 cookies and an Apple fritter. Such a generous offering. I am thankful!

Best donuts in Lexington! Everything is made from scratch!!! The nicest lady works here and she will go above and beyond to assist the customers! Prices are very reasonable!! This place even makes birthday and wedding cakes, any occasion and these are made from scratch too!! Check out Donut Days Bakery, you will be happy you did.

Stopped by on a Saturday for a quick doughnut. They have a great selection and also do a great bakery cake (which I have ordered in the past). The soda machine didn't seem to be working well that day, but a cream-filled long John satisfied my doughnut craving perfectly.

Donut Days will make you never think about getting Krispy Kreme ever again. There's just something special about handmade donuts that really wins you over. The bakery whips up a generous variety you'll find yourself with a different order each time you visit plus they also do cookies, cakes and bread! You must try a custard filled Long John it is stuffed to the brim unlike some where your first bite is just bread no need to worry here, also the blueberry cake donut is amazing like a blueberry muffin but with that donuty glaze making for an even sweeter treat, and lastly the strawberry frosted donut comes in first place it's so overwhelming flavorful and I tasted no artificial flavors it was truly to die for! No one likes a dry donut but this bakery they guarantee you freshness every single time. In conclusion just about any kind of donut you decide to go with it'll definitely be worth your dollar and I didn't mention this but the people are some of the nicest on the planet they treat you well I'd go as far as to say they're as sweet as the donuts. I make a trip just about weekly in response to how good service there is and the quality being phenomenal I hope you to will. Local business' took a huge hit from covid and it is our duty to support the ones we love after all.

I visited the Donut Days Bakery drive-thru with my cousin during a Lexington visit. We had driven through and gotten coffee elsewhere, and we wanted a sweet breakfast treat, so we opted for this spot. It's kind of no frills, with a simple drive-thru and no real menu to check out. We asked for options and they handed us a paper menu to look at in our car. They have the usual bakery options, with lots of doughnut flavors, but the thing that really got me was the prices. Everything is SO cheap. Doughnuts are around a dollar. Unbelievable! We opted for a few different flavors. While these doughnuts are no frills compared to those you'd get from a specialty spot where you choose your glaze/icing and then add on ridiculous amounts of unique toppings, they are simply delicious! So, if you're looking for some simple delicious doughnuts on the cheap, Donut Days is the spot to check out!

This is the worst donut I've ever had. It's stale and full of air. I could've gotten a better donut at a gas station. It doesn't even look appealing outside but I gave them the benefit of the doubt for being a bakery. I think these donuts could honestly be over a day old. Will not return.

Very good yeast and lemon filled donuts. Busy place that has been here 40 plus years. Small parking lot. Clean inside. Fast service. If you like yeast donuts these are very good. Close to where we stayed and glad we came here. Not as soft as Krispy Kreme but very tasty. Worth a stop.

I LOVE this place. I grew up on Donut Days donuts and in my opinion they are the best in town. Their donuts are so light and airy (can easily eat a dozen by myself). I'm a traditionalist and love their Glazed and Chocolate Glazed, but you really can't go wrong with any of their options. Fully local and great staff! 10/10 would definitely recommend!

I must admit when I saw the size of her donuts I laughed because they were so big. Long story short what she got was a cronut not the traditional cake donut. Previously I've had the raspberry filled donut there and it was really good. The caramel turtle is also a cronut. She asked what kind of dough it was my guess was brioche because of the texture. I could be wrong. I liked my donut although it was a little messy to eat . My friend on the other hand didn't care for the cronut. The coffee though is always on point and it didn't disappoint. As for customer service they really are on point. I've been there a total of three times so far and every time they've been friendly and patient. Plenty of seating indoors and on the patio. I think after 1 pm they do donuts made to order (I didn't see the sign when we first walked in until after we placed our order). I just thought they sold out but the woman at the counter told me they do made to order.

Unfortunately they only had about 5 different pastries to choose from and they did not appear to be freshly made. We ended up leaving empty handed. It was very loud inside and the layout was confusing. People were going different directions to line up so I'm not sure which way you're actually supposed to line up. This place is more like a Starbucks than a donut shop which isn't our vibe.

But the next morning, Hubby was craving donuts so we headed straight to the Greyline Station location. First impression, the interior is much more spacious than I expected! Also, I really dig the music that is played. I inquired about the music, and they were playing Indie Coffee Shop Vibes on Spotify. There are a few cushy chairs to sit in, lots of tables, chairs, a few booths, and a tiny library with children's books about donuts. One wall has a colorful mural, and near one of entrances behind the coffee counter is a poser of Britney Spears with a speech bubble containing the bathroom code. Looking at the donut selection, there was one vegan option. I believe they always carry one vegan option with a rotating flavor. On this particular day, it was a Vegan Snickers Donut. It's a chocolate donut, two icings (one being chocolate), and crushed peanuts. The flavor brought me instand joy! I especially liked the little bit of crisp biting into this cakey donut. Yum! https://bit.ly/4hJoppT I also had a Earl Grey Tea Latte with Almond Milk. Not sure where they get their tea but I was wowed on that first taste. The barista who helped us was welcoming and friendly. I appreciated that she shared her favorites while we were making decisions on what to order. I wish we had an opportunity to visit a second day while visiting Lexington for the week. Will definitely come back the next time we're in town.
