I went to the same school as their son and whenever we had a potluck I'd look forward to whatever sweet treats he'd bring. It does get busy but it's absolutely worth the wait. This is the place that is filled with locals on a Sunday morning with a line out the door. The staff is super efficient and sped through the line. So know what you want! Highly recommend the apple fritter and all of the drip coffee was pretty good. We also got breakfast sandwiches which are simple and better then Starbucks. read more

These were surprisingly good donuts. My department ordered a dozen of teir donuts. They were awesome. I was really surprised. I had a bite of the apple fritter and they were good. My all time favorite donut...the sprinkle. They did my sprinkle donut justice. I will be going back here to order a box of donuts in the future. read more

Stopped for gas in this town and came across this donut shop. My family and I love donuts and eat them often. These donuts are so delicious and fresh. If I had to point out a negative, it is that they were nearly sold out when we were there,so the selection was slim, but I had a bear claw with a really tasty apple filling. Nice staff too. This place is definitely a locals type breakfast spot. Busy but super fast service. These people know how to run a breakfast place. I had a delicious meaty cheesey bacon egg croissant that was perfectly flakey and delicious for a great price. My husband had the sausage egg and cheese croissant and we each had a coffee. Usually when I see the word "DONUTS" as part of the store name I'm thinking donut heaven. Unfortunately this one left me confused. I came In around 9 am and was sad to see that there were barely any donuts there. I'm even wondering if they had any assortments at all to begin with. All I saw were their donut balls which tasted good but not like wow which what I read on other reviews. I also saw for donuts just glazed circle donuts and it wasn't an exciting g taste either. More like "ok, I see what you mean" So when I say confused I mean, the place barely had donuts of any variety. Perhaps I came late? No clue. But what it did have was on the right side of their board was a load of bagel menus to try. It was a whole variety. It's amazing actually! I wish I had an appetite for that when I came in. I will definitely be back to try them and to hopefully provide better pictures for this business. Also, the customer service was great. The family that works there are very kind. read more

They are quick, food is fresh and the staff is polite! Their bagel sandwiches and donuts are delish. The only thing is that i can never get a fresh pot of coffee. They always fill up the old coffee that's been siting there (even if it sits there for less than an hour)with the new pot instead of just putting out the full new pot. I dislike the taste of the coffee when they add the new one to the old pot that still has some coffee in it. I understand that they don't want to waste coffee but you can taste that the coffee tastes old or burnt. I drink a lot of coffee and used to be a barista so these minor differences are very noticeable. If it wasn't for the coffee they would definitely get a 5 star. read more

This is a great place to grab a quick breakfast. They have a variety of donuts, including my favorite Apple Fritter. I've had their breakfast sandwiches, which are served hot. I don't like that the cheese on the sandwiches taste like process cheese. I'd pay $0.25 more for real cheese. The shop is dated, but they keep it clean. read more

Super busy in the mornings, but they're fast so it's no problem at all. Their donuts are extremely affordable and delicious. They have a couple of tables, but I wouldn't bring a huge group of people here. They have a good selection of hot and cold drinks, so that was nice to go along with my half dozen donuts. This location used to be Little Caesars back in the day. When Donut King opened up (what 1999?) I did not expect it to be around for this long. It's become a neighborhood hang out spot Saturday mornings. So that tells people this place is here to stay. The only downside is parking. It's horrendous because the lot is so small and there are a lot of double-parking in the area. Also this place is cash only! read more

I ordered two egg and cheese sandwiches to give this place a try. This isn't my normal donut shop but since I needed something close to me at the time, this place didn't look half bad. The place is located right across McDonald's and from Contra Costa College. There is a tiny parking lot for guests only which is nice. The people that work here are really nice and they bring out your order quickly which is great, especially in the morning. Inside there is a small seating area which you can tell is kept clean. The sandwiches I ordered were really good, had a lot of taste to it and was super hot when I got it. Overall a cute spot, glad I tried it out, make sure to try it out as well if you are in the area. read more

This truly is a great donut shop! The customer service is really good and the shop is really clean! They seem to keep the shop in pretty good shape, they are nice, professional, and very patient! When I went in, they greeted me with a smile plus a friendly hello and when I politely told them I wasn't ready, they were very patient with me! They have quite a variety of donuts and they are soooo delicious! The prices of the donuts are pretty good and they don't over charge like some other donut shops I've been to! They sell different cold drinks but also sell coffee and they offer a bag for free for the things you purchased! Donut King in San Pablo doesn't keep their posted hours and doesn't answer their phone. I tried to patronize them on Saturday, February 13, 2016 without success;. I tried to call them at 11:30 AM and they wouldn't answer their phone. I drove over there at 1:30 PM and they were closed. No excuse or apology was given. The business hours posted in their window list 5 AM to 2 PM everyday. I now know why they always seem to be closed when I passed by on mid-days. The teen-aged manager seems to have a regard for customers that is measured in negative numbers. I spent my time and money to try and patronize them and they completely failed me. In this particular case, a score of zero stars is appropriate. read more
