Nestled in a strip mall in Hermitage lies Donut Palace, a small, somewhat barren shop that makes all manner of baked goods. The star of the show is unquestionably the Doughssant, which for the people who keep up with foodie trends, is the noble Cronut. And as far as I can tell, it holds up to the hype. Note to donut owner: You might as well just close at 10am. No sense in staying open until 2pm if you only sell the rejects left over from breakfast. For my 1st experience I admit it wasn't a normal donut eating time but I figured heck they close at 2:00pm it's only 11:45am I'll give it a shot. I asked for their specialty croissant donut (cronut) that I have seen on reviews. I was told, oh we sold those this morning. I thought to myself, hmm you are open 2 more hours you can't fry some up for me? I should have asked but I didn't (shame on me). Instead of offering to make some now. The donut worker said he can make them for me tomorrow and save them so they are left for me. Arg, not making me happy Mr.! I said no thank you with a smile and left. That was awful. I got a breakfast sandwich and a donut. Left the store and not even out of the parking lot took a bite of my sandwich and it is frozen cold in the sandwich. Donut was dry and stale. You'd be better off eat Dunkin and they suck too! I support small businesses and I hardly ever leave reviews. Hopefully they read this and make some serious changes on how they operate. I've been looking for a good, non-convenient store, place to grab fresh donuts. Donut Palace delivered, hands down. We tried the blueberry and chocolate cake donuts. They were lite and not dry at all. The perfect balance of muffin and donut! We also tried maple-glazed and traditional-glazed. Again, Donut Palace nailed it. Wow!!! I took a bunch of these donuts into work today and they were a huge HIT! The apple fritter and cronuts are amazing! The red velvet cake donut and the maple bacon donut were also a bit hit with the group. YUM!!! First off. They changed their hours to close at 2 p.m. second. They will close early. Up to 10 minutes early. Which sucks if you've got a hankering 4 those amazing apple fritters. These Donuts are amazing. Place is just a hole in the wall but very friendly people. My wife and I are from California and were amazed at the cost. They were so cheap. We got 3 donuts and a croissant. Donuts were nice and soft and very sweet. I would highly recommend this place as you getting more than what you're paying for. read more

Great little local donut shop. I got an assorted dozen to try and was super tempted by their version of the cronut but decided to do the jalepeno kolache. I'm also searching for 'the' kolache replacement to my Texas kolaches that are so missed. I've yet to find one. While this was good, it wasn't true to the style I prefer. Still searching. Went the other morning 1ST time & got 1 dozen glazed & 1 dozen variety & 1 dozen holes. LOVED THE DONUTS ESPECIALLY FILLED ONES!!! Lots of filling in them!!
