This is a hole in the wall kind of place serving old fashioned donuts. They have a seating area inside and a drive-thru. Get here early because once they're gone, that's it. I almost always read Yelp reviews before I go somewhere. This time the Yelp reviews made me super excited about having a Blueberry Fritter because I love blueberries. They no longer serve those, the nice man replied "only Apple Fritters". So I scoped out the expansive case looking for something else in order to give this place a try. I found a large Blueberry Muffin and decided on that. In my excitement about the Blueberry Fritter, I had forgotten that it's cash only unless you spend more than $5. Don't make my mistake. The nice man replied "one for tomorrow too?" But I decided to get two Strawberry filled donuts instead. First time customers no longer get a free donut, but it's really not that expensive. My large muffin was $1.99 and my filled donuts were $1.39 each. This place probably deserves better than 3 stars (from a donut lover) and I'd give 3.5 but they don't let you give half stars. I'm not a big donut fan so I can't really judge those (it tasted exactly like the donuts of my childhood) and I literally only came here to try out the Blueberry Fritters, which didn't happen. The Blueberry Muffin was pretty bland, but then again it's a donut shop.

I generally try to only say good things about donut shops I visit but unfortunately this was not a good experience. I heard others rave about Gourmet Donuts in Mt. Juliet, but I was very disappointed with their selection and, in particular, this over cooked apple fritter, which scrapped the inside of my cheek. Hopefully, this was just an off-day and not typical but I had high but unmet expectations.

Amazing donuts! I would go back again and again if I lived here, but then, I LOVE donuts! The gal seemed a little miffed that we were there, so customer service isn't good, but frankly, when they have a delicious product that you take home & devour, does that really bother me a whole lot? Um, not particularly, although it might if I were a local & frequented this place.

Seriously the best donuts in town. We drive from Providence to get them. The owner is SO NICE and when he's behind the counter will give my kids each a free donut hole. They even have a dining area if you choose to enjoy your treats without waiting or getting your car dirty!

I work in restaurants and this makes it high risk for mistakes. When "our" order was ready, she made direct eye contact with us beckoned us over to pay. It wasn't until after we made it out and home we realized it was the wrong order. There is certainly a gap in training because another individual was taking and calling out names for orders. What I received was somewhat similar to my order but extremely plain and lacking. (No offense to the person who originally made this order.) We also believed it would come out in order so we were called forward shortly after the people who were in front of us checked out. The ambiance is decent, the restaurant is cluttered and the ordering system is poor. The outside of the restaurant has two different signs and entrances/exits. I heard multiple people in line confused about this choice as well. My suggestion to ownership would be to make one entrance an exit only to avoid new customer confusion and streamline the ordering process. The bagel I received was tasty, but fell extremely flat because it was plain on the inside. Again, I received the wrong order so it wasn't at all what I was expecting. I would like to give this place another try and hopefully I receive someone else to take our order.

Parking wasn't too bad unless you have mobility issues. Despite their whole thing being NY-style bagels, I actually selected a Reuben on Pumpernickel. I wasn't feeling like eating a whole bunch of whipped cream cheese or a chicken salad. Portion sizes were pretty good, actually. I think the main things for me would be to simplify the menu and offer size options. Something like half a bagel or like a "classics variety" (like a variety cheesecake). So you could pick and choose quarters or maybe thirds. I was happy to see they had savory cream cheese options because they are so underrated. I also got their honey lavender lemonade which was fire and not too sweet. The staff were all great and it is clearly a pretty popular spot. Overall no issues and I will probably go again.

Quick stop. Grab a bagel. Keep it moving. After all, it's just a bagel, right? Wrong. What shows up in your hands is not a bagel. It's a statement piece. These doughy masterpieces are hand rolled like someone actually cares about what they're doing. Then they get boiled in water that's engineered to mimic the kind that made New York bagels legendary. You can taste it immediately. That slight chew. That perfect crust. That moment where you stop mid-bite and go, "hold on... what is this?" And then the plot thickens. The cream cheeses? Made in house. Not scooped out of a tub with a shrug, but crafted. Each one feels like it had a little meeting before being served. The kind of detail that makes you reconsider every sad bagel you've ever settled for. "The difference between a good morning and a great one is about 200 degrees and a properly boiled bagel." Yeah. That. The people behind the counter don't just serve you, they set the tone for your day. Smiles, energy, the kind of friendliness that feels real and not rehearsed. You leave in a better mood than you walked in, which is saying something before coffee fully kicks in. And if you want to dress it up, go for it. Eggs, meats, cheeses, stacked and loaded. But here's the twist. These bagels don't need the help. You can tear into one plain and still feel like you made an excellent life decision. This isn't just a stop. It's a recalibration. Make the time. Go out of your way. Because somewhere between the first bite and the last crumb, you'll realize something important... These are the best bagels I've had south of the Northeast. It's in a small shopping center at the north limits of the Crieve Hall neighborhood. You can normally find a parking spot in the lot or if you know someone in the neighborhood, walking is an option too. Walk in and order at the counter. Be sure to check the available bagels that day AND any specials, especially the cinnamon bun special. Every time I have been, the staff has been extremely helpful as you navigate the choices. (note - there is a separate window outside to pickup online orders, delivery orders etc. so that helps with inside congestion). There is almost always a line but it moves quickly. On my last visit, they had just completed the March Madness bracket and were featuring the Cheddar bagel with chive cream cheese- $1. As I said, always check the special! They will feature some interesting coffees, bagels varieties and let's talk about the Cinnamon Roll. The first time I sampled the Cinnamon Roll special it was a blueberry pancake version, imagine an amazing cinnamon roll(yes, it's sweet but not overly and has great flavor), with blueberries and cream on top! The only downside is they are very large, but that means you get one to share with your people. Their bagels are really good! You can eat them plain or get some spread for them. (note that bulk bagel orders are not sliced). They also have breakfast sandwiches. To top it off, this has the feel of a real neighborhood spot. Plenty of folks greeting each other, friends connecting, families gathering. Indoor seating with books for the wee folks and some outdoor tables too. I understand they have another location but this is original CHBCO. Definitely worth checking it out!
