Always Fresh Donuts. Super soft and delicious. Esp their glazed donuts, they melt in your mouth similar to Krispy Kreme's. I also love their soft Croissants, and their Ice Blended drinks are excellent as well. Special mention to their Apple Fritter as well.... I would not come back to this place. The lady was rushing us and was being rude. We were debating on which donut we wanted and she brought out any donut we mentioned and got angry when I told her we didn't ask for the donuts she had in a bag! The Thai tea was the only drink that wasn't blended and she said that it's supposed to be blended, which it didn't taste like Thai tea. Very disappointed, have given this place several chances ( due to the convenience of the location) and every time is worse than the time before. The female is always rude and in a rush and she overcharged me yet again. The prices on her board did not match what she charged. I was hoping to indulge in a hot, fresh glazed donut before heading into work. Something about the overcast day caused a necessity for a quick pick-me-up. Donut Star would have to do the trick. I was surprised with how bright it was inside, and how clean the display case and display racks were. It's nice to see owner/operators taking pride in their business. I wasn't so impressed with their donuts though. They were neither hot or fresh. But to make matters more interesting, they were nearly twice the size of a regular donut...not in width, but in height. I had to break the donut apart just to create bite-sized pieces. This isn't the easiest thing to do with a napkin and its seriously messy. The hardened glaze was cracking all over the table. It seemed like more glaze was on the table than on the donut by the time I was through. I also ordered a chocolate frosted donut and was met with the same result. Although the chocolate milk I ordered to complete the sugar rush was very good, it wasn't good enough to salvage this place from receiving a 2-star rating. Great place the Owners have changed and it is awesome go there when you can the coffee is great and the donuts are awesome but the criossants are great I would reccomend to anybody in this area and it is right next to stater bros so when I buy my groceries I can have a warm delicious donut. They also have so many drinks from energy to chocolate milk to Starbucks. read more

I've been coming to this Donut Shop for years, shame on me for not writing a review earlier. Donut Star always has the freshest donuts, made fresh daily. My favorite are in this order: chocolate cake, glazed donuts, buttermilk, tiger tail, cream cheese and blueberry danish and chocolate frosted custard filled donuts. But don't limit yourself to a sweetie. A must try is their absolutely tasty egg rolls, beef or chicken you can't go wrong, my preference is the chicken. They also have a very tasty ham and cheese. The shop owners are a very nice couple always super friendly. This must be the cleanest donut shop I've ever gone to A rating. If you're in Riverside give this shop a try. read more

If Krispy Kreme sets the bar, this place wins the ribbon for second place. Another thing, who walks into a donut shop with an attitude of "I better have good service or else!" Hmm? I'm just like, hand me a good donut and a cup of coffee and I'm good! How much service and exertion does it take for a human being to do that? What I'm trying to say is, do people really believe that doing business in a donut shop calls for 5 star service? I don't even know how the donuts taste, but the customer service was atrocious. First, they try to fit a dozen donuts into a little cake box, making an absolute mess of any glazing. Second, she wouldn't let me see my receipt and told me a random total. Her total included an extra dozen that i didn't get. If I was terrible at math, wouldn't have caught it. Third, she still got away with cheating me slightly. After she deleted the extra dozen, I still couldn't see the receipt. Somehow she calculated that my change from giving her 30 for 28.25 was 1.30.
