Ordered biscuits and gravy on DoorDash. Potion size looked promising but that was it. The biscuits were terrible. They had an old oil taste with some kind of fake butter. They were stale and really bad. The gravy had no flavor and while it was called "sausage gravy" I don't believe there was any actual sausage in the gravy. I did find a big chunk of gristle, however. This "hidden jem" of a restaurant, tucked into a strip mall on Tyler and 13th next to the Dollar Tree, serves generous food portions at very reasonable prices. The service is fast and efficient, with a friendly staff who go above and beyond (I am handicapped; the manager helped me with leaving and even getting settled in my van!). My husband and I were able to get out on our first date since having our little 10 week old, and we came to eat brunch here. Delicious! My wife I split the chicken fried steak. It was a large portion with two eggs, potatoes, and a biscuit (an upcharge). I had coffee. Gravy came on the steak, but we ordered a side for the biscuit. Kim was our server and she was ok, not overly attentive which is good IMO. My only complaint was it was a little pricey. We paid $21. Stopped in this morning for breakfast. They quoted us a 20 minute wait and they were almost spot on. We had the country fried steak, it was so big it could have fit on its own plate! Sausage gravy, fluffy biscuits, delicious coffee. The only downside were the eggs. We ordered them over medium and they were underdone, with whites still runny. Still, 4 stars. This is a decent place for breakfast. They serve all the basics. My wife had the ham and eggs with a generous serving of ham. I had the French toast with two eggs. The eggs were cooked appropriately on both plates. This place is a lot out of the way for us as we live on the opposite side of town, but if in the area we wouldn't hesitate to have breakfast here again if we were wanting just the basics. read more

Went for a celebration breakfast. We didn't receive bacon, sausage and one of kid's meals. Waitress had put everything on one ticket before we could tell her how to split it, including the items we never received. Took four attempts to get the tickets correct so we finally asked for the manager. The owner came out very rude accusing us of being rude to the waitress. He said we laughed at her when she interrupted our prayer. She didn't interrupt our prayer, she quietly and politely walked away when she saw us praying. After our prayer, we laughed at my mom who had said something funny. Because again, we were there celebrating. The owner then accused us of trying not to pay for everything we ordered and we assured him we were trying to pay for what we received and nothing more. He kept saying how busy he was and didn't have time for this. The owner said we came in with an attitude. We did not. And my question to him would be, if you saw us come in with an attitude, why did you even seat us? The owner said he watched us mistreat the waitress the whole time. We did not. My question to him would be, why would you sit and watch one of your staff be "mistreated". The owner said he watched us the whole time. Why? We were laughing and having a celebration and the only problem was with not receiving what we ordered but being charged for it even after reminding the waitress several times. The owner said he was being an ass hole to us and that he had the right to do that. He told us he wakes up every day with the right to see the world as he sees fit. Obvious since he "saw" so many inaccurate things. Apparently when you go there for a celebration, don't be a large black group. Don't laugh and enjoy yourselves or they will "see" it as mocking the staff. Don't question your ticket and request to only pay for what you receive. As a fairly recent transplant to Wichita, I'm always perusing yelp and social media for new places to eat so I'm surprised I hadn't at least heard of this place before. We were actually on our way to another breakfast place but our usual place had a staff covid outbreak (yikes) and the second place we tried was closed. So I won't lie, Egg Cetera was our third choice and after driving around all morning we didn't really care where we ended up. Place is quaint and decorated like your grandma's kitchen so you immediately get a homey sense of nostalgia when you walk in. The place was bustling. I can't speak for what some other reviewers have said but our service was incredibly quick, prompt and our wait time for our food was next to nothing. Perhaps people need to be a little more understanding of longer wait times considering there are staffing shortages everywhere right now. Also, it's a diner, so expect greasy food? Some of you all just crack me up with your silly criticisms. To the food! No frills, straight forward diner breakfast food. They do have a lunch menu it looks like but we were there for the breakfast. My fiancé had a pretty standard breakfast of two fried eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and rye toast. However, it was all done very very well. Eggs were cooked accurately and the sausage links had a very rich and savory maple flavor I believe. If I absolutely have any criticism at all, I'd say the bacon was not crisp. More floppy but I feel like next time we'll just ask for it to be a little more well-done. No big deal. I had the breakfast burritos. Yes plural. You get two burritos with scrambled eggs and choice of three add ins. I added sausage, monterrey jack cheese, and avocado. I was thrilled with the fact that there was lots of avocado! Every bite of those burritos had avocado in it. I cannot stand going to a restaurant and ordering avocado and you getting the equivalent of one or two slices for the price of highway robbery. This was NOT the case. I had the breakfast potatoes with it and I'll tell you. Best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. Super crispy on the outside without being tough and burnt while soft and hot on the inside seasoned with seasoning salt. This place knows how to do breakfast potatoes and I'm classically very picky with potatoes. We usually go to the Beacon but Egg Cetera's breakfast potatoes hit it out of the park in comparison. I really don't have anything negative to say about this place other than it's a super far drive for us so I won't be able to get there as often as I'd like.
