I've been a loyal customer for many years, always bringing my dry cleaning to your Pleasant Street location before it closed and then to your Auburn location. The women at the Auburn location are professional, very kind, and helpful with specialty and designer garments. However, I am seriously concerned about the man who works there. I believe he's the only man who operates in the front of the store. I am writing this formal complaint because he is consistently condescending and passive-aggressive, which is in stark contrast to the other employees. This is why I feel compelled to raise this issue and escalate my complaint about the mistreatment I've experienced as a customer by this employee. On the 18th, while I was waiting at 9:00, he came out from the back, appearing annoyed that I was there, and mumbled under his breath. When he took my bag, he remarked, "You couldn't take it out of the bag?" and added, "I don't know if there is poop or urine on your clothes." I was shocked and disgusted by his tone. I want to make it clear that I would never bring clothes like that. That is not my character, and the other associates can confirm this as I am a business professional myself. When I asked him for his name and the owner's number, he refused both requests. I have never experienced poor service from anyone else there. This man behaves in a toxic and disrespectful manner and takes no ownership of his words or actions. He claims to treat everyone the same, but I have seen him speak to others neutrally. I hope your store's cameras and audio captured the incident because I want this behavior addressed to prevent harm to your business. I would appreciate a phone call if you would like to discuss this further. To resolve this, I request a formal written apology from this employee, a commitment that he will receive customer service retraining, and that you inform me in writing of any corrective actions taken. Additionally, please outline the steps the company will take to ensure respectful treatment of customers from now on and keep me updated on your progress. Until these actions are taken and I receive confirmation, I will not return to Dooley's. read more

I recently brought a comforter to be cleaned and pressed. When I went back to pick it up, I didn't realize until I opened it that it had not been pressed and was. full of wrinkles . I brought the comforterback to the sales person and told her that it had not impressed at all. She took my information and told me that she would get back to me. Proximately 10 to 15 minutes later we received a phone call saying it ready for me to pick up. We went back and picked up the quilt and took it home. When we opened it up still wrinkled. I went to Dooleys last minute with a bridal emergency. I had 5 days until my wedding and was in tears at the state of my gown. Barry and his team went above and beyond to help me and make my gown incredible for my wedding day. I am forever indebted to their customer service and skill at making everything from a disaster to perfect and on short time. Sorry to bother you by dropping off dry cleaning at your dry cleaning shop and then paying you for the service. Seriously, find a new job where you don't deal with people, like an undertaker perhaps. Beside a few dry cleaning items, I also needed serious alterations on 2 sets of drapes, in a hurry. Well, they did an outstanding job! We couldn't be happier! I was referred to this dry cleaners after having a terrible experience with Biz Cleaners on Southbridge Street. I've been going to Dooley's for almost two years now and everything always is perfect. The entire staff is warm and funny and makes it enjoyable to do business there. I can always count on Phil and the staff to accomodate me in a pinch. The ONLY reason this review is 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the friendly customer service I received from a female employee there one of the times I was in during this mess of an alteration experience. I brought in an expensive dress to be altered at Dooley's in December for a formal holiday party I was attending the following week. The dress fit perfectly, but was a long tea-length, (to my lower calf), and I needed it shortened 7 inches to make it a cocktail dress. When I picked it up, the sweet woman at the desk said, "now THAT'S a short number", and I thought the same looking at it in the bag, but I didn't try it on, (MY fault, but I trusted it would be fine since the 7 inches was a perfect measurement to where it was supposed to be). The night of the party, I realized in horror that it had been shortened more than 3+ full inches higher than we discussed, and that the attached slip underneath had been left uncut and visibly HANGING. It was unwearable, (thank goodness for a closet of cocktail LBDs!). When I brought it back to explain the situation, (after paying, and then not being able to wear it to the party, mind you), the owner acted SUPER annoyed and rushed...unapologetic, and he said for me to come back in a few days...he'd "let it down". Well, I picked it up...it's a little better, but still shorter than what we discussed, (it couldn't be let down any more because the remaining material was cut off), and at the end of the day I had to pay for a poorly modified dress that I didn't get to wear to a party. I feel that apologies, and a full refund should have been given to me, but the owner acted put off. Never again. read more

What nice, helpful, and courteous people at this place! I brought in a winter jacket with a broken zipper. They tried to fix it on the spot, but it wasn't so easily fixable. However, they did fix it later that day, and called me to say that I could come back and get it - and that there would be no charge. How nice is that? When I did pick it up I voluntarily paid a small amount; they should be paid for their services - but I appreciated the kindness. I agree with other reviewers that the young lady up front is especially friendly, which is always a nice surprise these days. read more

I would never use this cleaner. The man that owns it is soooo rude. It's as if you are doing him a real injustice if you either call his business and/or go in there to get work done. The information given over the phone, if you can get past his rudeness, is inaccurate and turns out to be a different story when you go in. I use another cleaner in town, and they are soooo pleasant as a business owner or employee should be. They have gone above and beyond in the times I have needed them to. I dropped off a winter jacket that needed a sleeve repaired. Nothing went right...the color sleeve out of stock. ...then I picked another color. ....long term out. I live two states away used them because I used to work not far from the establishment. They kept working with me to find a sleeve that would work. Because the jacket stayed their longer then expected just was drooped off today. Yes dropped off at my relatives house. Repaired. Cleaned.....and delivered. They shrunk two of my husband's suits. We had pictures of him wearing both suits a month before the cleaning, we got them back and the arms were now almost 2 inches shorter and tight. They said they would take care of it and get back to us. My husband called again told owner would get back to us and he didn't. I called and the owner not only didn't have the suits anymore, but accused me of lying and trying to get one over on him. My husband had used their services for over 20 yrs and would drive 30 minutes to bring his clothes there. The owner could have cared less and never made this right. alert!!! alert!!! alert!!! alert!!! dooleys cleaners beware of dooleys cleaners a person names barry will tell you anything you want to hear after they ruin your clothing. i sent my work jacket to them. they melted it. told me they would fix it. brought it in 4/9 pick it up finally on 5/10 and noticed that they did not fix it and it is no longer any good. after barry assured me it would be repaired. beware of doing business with this company. in my opinion doesnt get any worse than them. as you can see by the other reviews im not the only one with a problem read more
