Be the first person to sing praises for Doom on Yelp? Don't mind if I doom (https://youtu.be/OxzpVaiP6eg?si=Ph7WmtiZ84_nymLW)! When I first heard that the space that used to house old Whiskey Dix and Voltage Lounge was becoming Doom Bar, and saw that artists like Doomed Future (https://www.instagram.com/doomedfuture/) and Sea of Doom (https://www.instagram.com/seaofdoom/) were contributing art to the interior I was instantly curious. Then when I heard that it was designed to cater towards casual and diehard fans of all things metal, horror, and dark art I was all kinds of sold! Seeing that its first art show was happening after my friend's holiday cookie exchange party was the perfect opportunity to check it out, and I enjoyed everything that it had to offer. Sea of Doom's stained glass windows, Doom Future's bathroom art, a freaking bone chandelier, and then some added onto the overall aesthetic of the bar. The upper balcony area played host to the art show curated by Sue Moerder (https://www.instagram.com/suemoerderskullart/), and there should be new art gallery displays semi-regularly. Instead of things like sports, it was also cool to see the televisions showing things like classic horror film trailers and scenes. While the old music venue stage was changed up to have table seating that included old church pews, its not implausible to think that a heavy metal bar near a music venue like Franklin Music Hall could have music events in the not-too-distant future. If I weren't dining with vegans I likely would have savored in sharing the communal bone marrow with the table. But Doom had an enticing menu for vegan and meat-eating diners alike. The Sichuan dry rub seitan nuggets were a fiery house of spice that I just couldn't quit. Yet somehow it also wasn't the hottest thing on the menu since the DOOM sauce is labeled as really fucking spicy!!! The libations manu included plenty of enticing cocktails, spirits wine, and a non-alcoholic Sacred Tea. But I was happy to see a draft list that featured plenty of local offerings from the likes of Attic Brewing,, Carbon Copy, and Space Cadet. It's only been open for less than a month now. But with events like its art gallery showing and photos with Krampus Doom is already off to a good start, and it gives good reason to check out their Instagram for the latest on even more events (https://www.instagram.com/doom.bar/)!

Great vibes for metal fans - and good spot to pregame before a concert in Franklin Music Hall or Union Transfer which are nearby.

I didn't expect to enjoy this arcade as much as I did. I went this past Memorial Day and…read morethankfully, it was not packed AT ALL, it was basically empty. I do think if I went on a day where it was packed, I would not have enjoyed it as much. The racing simulators are pretty cool! The chair shakes while you are racing in order to give it as much real effects as possible. As your driving/racing you have to pay attention to the guides on the floor in colors red, green & yellow signifying you to slow down on certain curves and turns on the different tracks. When you pay for a race, five rounds of racing is included. You can pick your level of difficulty for each round. I went with "rookie" for all of my five rounds and each track was different. It was neat not knowing what to expect each time you began and it was cool to know you could enjoy it even at the most basic level, which is rookie. The food was not bad, but I could've done without it. The fried chicken sand-which was kinda salty, but I was a fan of the truffle fries. The prosecco was good, light and extra bubbly (not pictured). I think the interior was very nice! Being that there was barely anyone, I got to capture some pics which was nice! I see this as being an arcade you enjoy, when it's not many people, as couples and with some friends. Not a place to frequent often, I think.

Very disappointing experience at F1 Arcade Philadelphia during NBA Finals Game 3…read more Our group of eight professionals chose F1 Arcade to watch the game, order food and drinks, and support a local business. With approximately five minutes remaining in the game, the TVs were suddenly turned off without warning. We initially thought there was a technical issue, only to be told that everyone had to leave because it was after 11:00 PM. The issue wasn't that the venue was closing--it was how the situation was handled. No one informed us beforehand that the game would be cut off before it ended, and when a member of our group respectfully expressed his disappointment as a repeat customer, the security manager on duty, Dante, responded aggressively, used profanity, and stated that he "didn't care" because he makes more money than any of us anyway. Customer service and professionalism matter. Unfortunately, the manager's behavior turned what had been an enjoyable evening into a negative experience that left our entire group questioning whether we would return. We hope ownership takes this feedback seriously and addresses both the customer service issues and management conduct at this location.

They had a really good DJ and it was a fun atmosphere Now the service left something to be desired. While our server was nice, the food was slow to arrive and it took awhile to get our check as well. Woo child!! To be young again!…read more it's my sister's annual birthday week and we finished the night off after walking philly for what felt like 2 hours (25 minutes) and stumbled upon this club! the bouncers at the door were hella friendly (thanks billy) and the security inside kept a tight room. we joined in upon like 4 birthday parties and a full bottle service. needless to say the shots being poured were plentiful. Thank you to the really nice bartender in the orange hat (also a millennial) who grasps the concept of 'it's so loud in here' like it's not a nightclub. anyway the prices of the drinks were great. NO cover charges (that night) the floors were covered in confetti, and it was awesome watching jake paul get his jaw broken on someone's phone! #netflix ps. if you have a video of me acting up in a sombrero--no you don't.

Dear reader, Little…read moreGay Pub was quite easily one of our favourite spots in Philly. We went with a group two nights in a row, and everyone had such a great time both nights, which I think says rather a lot. It is not every place that earns an immediate return visit, let alone the very next evening. The music was good, the drinks were great, and the staff was super nice and friendly the entire time, which made the whole experience even better. The place was also really clean, and it never felt too crowded, which was especially appreciated with a group. There was room to actually enjoy ourselves without feeling packed in or shouted over. The rooftop was absolutely the crowd favourite and was so nice with the great weather. It really gave the whole place an extra bit of charm and made it very easy to settle in and stay a while. The location is also excellent, which made it a very convenient spot to come back to. Overall, this place delivered a thoroughly fun time, good drinks, and a very easy atmosphere to enjoy. We would absolutely go back and would happily recommend it.

The name sounded so cute, we had to pop in!…read more EXPERIENCE: ID's are checked at the door. There's a staircase that leads to an upstairs and a possible rooftop deck but it was never open when we went (Monday & Tuesday nights). A small seating area with quirky decor, high tops, a long communal bench and booth greets you, followed by a few bar and countertop seats thereafter. Monday night featured a "DJ" taking requests and playing musical show & movie tune videos which was fun but they oddly closed at 12:15 am when the place was fairly busy. Tuesday night was boring with nothing going on. LIBATION: Male bartender made a pretty good espresso martini. SERVICE: No friendliness here. Bouncers were like robots with no personalities. No waitstaff is available so head to the counter for everything. Bartenders were alright. OVERALL: Okay place to have a drink and talk. Head elsewhere for dancing and liveliness.
