Upon my first bite of their Buffalo Cauliflower, I instantly face-palmed... Why haven't I visited this spot sooner!?!? It was love at first bite (and sip!) and I've officially found my new favorite neighborhood bar, according to my several visits within the past couple of weeks! The inside is cozy and welcoming with a few tables surrounding the bar and they have sidewalk seating with an outdoor TV, making it the perfect location to catch a Phillies game or enjoy happy hour. Even though you may not be coming for the food, their extensive menu is not to be missed! Besides their buffalo cauliflower, some of my other favorites include their homemade perogies, wings with Kelliann's sauce (hot sauce + garlic parm ), and their turkey BLT. As far as drinks, they keep it simple with some rotating drafts, a range of cans/bottles, and some specialty cocktails. This spot truly has something for everyone! Last review I leave here since I have left many. Returned last night to grab dinner and watch the sixers game. Arrived 1.5 hrs before the game, which was great because we got good seats. It got very crowded on a Monday night closer to game time so keep that in mind if you do plan on catching the game. Ordered the elote dip for an app. Get the fried pita chips rather than tortilla (or mix like what we did). Creamy, cheesy goodness. The fried chicken salad gets a solid 8/10. Perfectly fried and had all the right toppings. If you don't pay the extra $3, you'll receive a bag of chips. So pay the extra $3 because the fries here are very good. Walked into Kelligan's on a Sunday afternoon to pick up wings because I'd heard they had the best wings in the city. The place was popping!! There was live music and plenty of TVs showing the Olympics and the Phillies game. It made me want to stay and sit at the bar. Regarding the wings, they definitely lived up to the hype. The chicken was incredibly tender, falling right off the bone. Their KA special sauce was unbelievable, and I also enjoyed the habanero mango sauce. Our favorite neighborhood bar! We love this small little sports bar! The food here is excellent. We always get the wings with Kelliann's sauce (hot sauce mixed with garlic parmesan), which is my favorite buffalo sauce. The wings are large, juicy, and reasonably priced ($12 for 10 wings). The thing that we love the most are the French fries. They are always served piping hot and come with an addictive Sriracha aioli and only $4 for a large basket! We only wish there were more beer options, but on the plus side they have good cheap domestic beer options. The bar is small, but they have some outdoor tables too. Can get a little crowded on game days so come early to snag a seat. Overall, some of the best food I've ever had at a bar! read more

Went with 3 friends during a big Eagles game. We did not have a reservation, but my friends had fortunately grabbed a table. Unsurprising as it was game day the place was packed but not uncomfortable. We had to order at the bar, but the service was quick and people let us slide through. For food, we ordered fries, a taco salad, and French onion soup. The food was quite good and exceeded expectations. We also had drinks including their game day buckets which were a good deal. It was loud, but that's to be expected on game day. They rang a bell for every Eagles touch down and kept the energy going. My only note would be before the game started, they had a live musician who was very loud. He was talented, but started competing with the crowd over volume- maybe end his shift a little before the game. read more

There were so many people here watching the Phillies game and they had some tables outside for people who just want to soak up the good weather. Found this place down the street from my apartment and saw they do trivia on Wednesday nights. We can around 7:30 to eat before. My friend got the french onion soup as a started and ordered the turkey club. I got the loaded fries and buffalo tenders. All the food we got was good. The fries and french onion soup were best. The trivia was super super fun. We knew none of the answers but the guy was great and it was a good time. We also got two drinks (Trashleys). They were alright but not very strong. Our waitress was awesome. She was super sweet and very down to earth. We had great conversations! Here's my downsides: I know it was busy but it took us forever to get our food. The waitress gave me regular tenders and when I told her I ordered buffalo ones, she sent it back just to have the sauce poured over it. The tenders were alright but I didn't finish them. My friend never ended up receiving her turkey club. We couldn't remind the waitress because she didn't come back for 45 minutes after she brought out the rest of the food. We even went inside to try to get her attention but couldn't. By the time we got her, my friend decided just not to get the sandwich. We also were seated out front with promise that we could hear the inside trivia from speakers. But the speakers were on the side of the place, not the front, so my friend had to stand in the doorway to hear the trivia answers. Overall, I'll definitely be back. Wouldn't go here on a normal day but the craziness is worth it on the trivia night! read more

The four cheeses were very well Blended and there was a lot of cheese. The four cheeses really dominate this cheesesteak. * Sidebar * This reads harsh but I really liked this cheesesteak. I gave it 90/100. * One of the cheeses must have been a greasy cheese because this was a greasy cheese steak. There's a decent amount of meat but it was dominated by the cheeses. I could see all the extras but most of the taste was dominated by the cheeses. It was a traditional roll. The roll was a victim of the greasy cheese and had a blowout. Lovely neighborhood bar and eatery. I usually stop by to get out of the house or after work. I haven't tried the cocktails as they often have really tasty beers on tap so I use my visits to explore and expand my palate. I usually eat the same thing each time which is the seared tuna as a sandwich or atop a bed of mixed greens. I've really tried to try other things but, I like what I like (insert half shrug). Oh, and add the house balsamic - bellísimo! I like to patronize places that make me feel like Cheers - where everybody knows your name - and though I don't think they know my name, they definitely remember me (or do a convincing job). If I came more often I know they'd remember my name. I've been coming here greater than 10 years and have watched the family and business grow and remember the father who owned the place (rest his soul), so occasionally, I'll find myself in conversation with the owner or his wife - I remember when they had the first kid. Lots of people hang out here that work at the local businesses - they have great specials each weekday. If I ate meat, I'd check out the wings... they certainly smell yummy! read more

Small place with a lot of personality. Good location for a quick ride into the city on the train or trolley. I come on Wednesday's for their wings, beer, and quizzo specials. The intimate setting makes room for only so many teams, and some days it's packed to the brim. Crowd is grad school age and up, more sophisticated than Temple and college bars, but still sporty and fun. Waitstaff are all super chill and quick with the food, drinks, and have good recommendations. Wings are worth the price and they have more than one flavor, which isn't typical of wing night bars so I love that. Trivia is slightly unique but super attainable if you come with a friend or 3! Great prizes, and 3rd place gets shots! Also some outdoor seating on the warmer days of its packed or if you want some fresh air, nothing special but it's an option. They have a good selection of beers and drinks. I had the warm apple cider with rum and it was delicious. They had a decent sized menu for a bar along with specials. For my entree, I had the crab Mac and cheese. I was a little worried to order crab Mac and cheese from a bar, but it was amazing. Everyone in our party was happy with their food. Service was great. Prices were reasonable. I am going to go with 5 stars even though I have only been here once, hopefully they are just as good next time I come back. read more

I like this spot. Because it's one of the oldest bars in Philadelphia. I would say that one of the staff members wasn't the friendliest. I think that he was a little bit off. I think he was sending text messages to the bartender while I was sitting there. Which I thought was really freaking rude. But whatever. I think the bartender I think her name was April she was super nice to me. So I don't think that I really have too much of a problem with this spot but I don't know that I would come back every time I'm in the city. But I would go there just to have a shot. Maybe something called a citywide. It's overall just not too classy, I would recommend it. I know that's a contradiction of terms, but I don't want to bash a spot that I've been going to for 20 odd years. So I would say that the pierogies were freezer burnt. We also split the cheesesteak eggrolls which had a very cheesy interior and crisp outside. It came with a tangy dipping sauce. Classic pub grub. UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE I came here for the wings & stood at the bar for 10 mins trying to place an order. I noticed there was only one bar tender serving as a server/bartender. I said ok he's probably swamped let me wait. After 5 more minutes I approached him and asked him "is he the only server" , he said yeah and said "it's too packed and you have to have a table, not serving from bar". I said well that sucks but now I know. He then walked past me and the only other black couple, who had been waiting there longer than I (20 mins) and served another group of ppl sitting at the bar, who happened to be white. This could have been a bad day for the server given he was swamped, but my experience WASN'T PLEASANT. I felt discriminated against given my race. I will not jump to call the establishment RACIST but I will allow the reader to make a decision given the facts. I've been a server and no matter how swamped you are acknowledgment is key. SUGGESTION: the pizza place next door gives great service & good food. Try them out! read more
