Holy cow this place is awesome! The drinks are great and reasonably priced. The food menu is small but mighty - and the food service is quick. Now for the fun part... [[HIGHLIGHT]]the stage upstairs is a magnificent space for intimate live music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The layout is awesome, the vibes were great, and the upstairs bar is well stocked.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had such a fun time here, and I was thankful the kitchen serves food until 1am so that I could refuel after the show. What a good night at JBs!

Johnny Brenda's is a great staple in fishtown. Offering delicious bar food and burgers this is a great spot to grab dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside with our pup and got great service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our burger was delicious and they also offer great local events with live bands. This is the place to be if you are music lover. I will be going back again to get their burgers.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside on a gorgeous day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside was dark, had a pool table when you walk in too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu was short for dinner, not a ton of options for a quick meal. The waitress seemed impatient and came back with a 2nd beer and put it down hard on the table as she walked away, it spilled on the table. The beets were good, but would have benefitted from a cracker maybe for as much goat cheese as there was on the plate. The Korean wings were sauced well, but were not crispy enough for me. The fries were very good (crispy and seasoned) with some kind of vinegar-flavored ranch that was so so good.

Literally this place charged me some sort of $50 fee to sit at their bar. Then they charged me for the food as well. I called and they said the charge is just temporary and it should be resolved. But 100% they have as of right now charged me $81 on a $31 bill because of some mysterious bar fee. The guy who served me was a complete asshole as well and forced me to open a tab which resulted in this charge. -EDIT- The bartender literally added himself a tip on my card after i didnt tip him because he had an attitude. I have the proof. The original charge was 31$ (plus that ridiculous $50) and when i just checked my account today, the $50 charge was gone but i had been charged $6 more on my bill, which means this SHADY establishment is up to no good with your card.

Friends and I stopped in for a quick dinner. Sat at the bar - all got the JB burger medium. Burger was great - a little messy. Fries were so delicious - shoestring style, salt and cracked pepper. Wanted to try the malt aioli but our server was a bit busy. Tried the Not so Mojito NA mojito - was really tasty. I loved the fresh garnishes and bar set up. Will definitely be back. Slightly elevated from casual dive bar dining, food was made with love for sure!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place had a great vibe and atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we first walked in, the music was really loud, but I guess that's expected in a bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]People were playing pool in the middle of the room, and plenty of people were talking and enjoying themselves all around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drinks were reasonably priced, and the bartenders were friendly and quick. I ordered a small plate, which was decent, and they have good prices on food as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, I have no complaints except that it was very hot towards the back, and only one big fan gave us a little breeze once every so often.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Other than that, it was a fun and lively place to spend a Saturday night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The variety of music played throughout the night kept the energy up, and everyone was having a good time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Love the low key hipster old school Fishtown vibe. This place hasn't changed in 15 years or more which is much appreciated. I got the short rib which had mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. The half chicken was excellent with great flavors. The blackened octopus salad was probably the best octopus dish I've ever had. The salad was refreshing and the octopus had so much flavor and large portions. The ginger rush drink was kinda sweet and had rosemary and a blood orange. It was very good! We had a great time and will be back again when visiting the old stomping grounds.

When I heard JB brought back their veggie burger I knew I had to go back. Glad that they listened to their customers and made changes. The burger was delicious and I plan to continue supporting this business.

Attended a new wave, Depeche Mode themed dance night and had a blast! A total blast! The music was slamming all night long and had to force myself off the dance floor to rest and hydrate. This event was on the 2nd floor so didn't explore too much on 1st level. It got super packed and was lovely and kicking all night long. Friendly staff, great ambience. Well most certainly go again!

The BURGER!!! It was so good and juicy, I wasn't super hungry but devoured it. Nice and greasy, good quality meat. The shoestring fries kind of tasted like McDonald's, which is a compliment in my book. My friend enjoyed her tuna tartar and found it light and refreshing. Neither of us liked our Moscow mules, which were way too sweet. Atmosphere is cool, kinda dim and has a New Orleans candlelit vibe.

We wanted to sit outdoors and the host was kind and friendly to keep us informed on the wait time. Our waitress was unfortunately pressuring us to finish eating and leave with comments like "still chewing?". There were a few empty tables around us and it was in the early afternoon, so the restaurant wasn't closing soon and I was confused. The salads were both delicious and the drinks were tasty.

How's the parking situation at about 8pm on a Saturday night?

It's super close to the MFL Girard stop. Parking is tough and most streets are permit parking only. The PPL is out in full force on Saturday nights. Pay attention to street signs to avoid a ticket!

As a Northern Liberties resident, I've visited Fringe Bar several times and have generally enjoyed the experience before my recent experience with the manager. Unfortunately, my visit on June 13 around 4:30 PM completely changed my opinion of this establishment. My friend and I were seated and waited nearly 20 minutes before our food order was taken. Our server explained that their ordering system had gone down.... We were understanding and patient but to be honest it felt like she forgot. About 10 minutes later, we finally received our drinks, and our server shared that management had continued assigning her additional tables despite the issues, making it difficult for her to keep up. We sympathized with her and gave the staff plenty of grace. After waiting another 30 minutes, nearly an hour total since arriving, we still had not received our food. What made the situation even more frustrating was watching another table that arrived roughly 30 minutes after us receive their meals before we did. At that point, I approached Henry to ask about our order. I explained that we had been waiting for nearly an hour and that guests who arrived significantly later had already been served and they needed to hurry up with our food because we were hungry. Before I could even finish speaking, Henry interrupted me, stated that he would comp the food, and told us to leave. All I wanted was an explanation and asked that our order be prioritized after such a long wait. Instead of attempting to resolve the issue, Henry immediately escalated the situation and effectively removed us from the restaurant. The interaction felt dismissive, unprofessional, and completely lacking in customer service. Even another manager appeared surprised by how quickly our order was canceled and how the situation was handled. The entire experience left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. Mistakes happen. Delays happen. What determines whether customers return is how management responds. Unfortunately, Henry's arrogance, poor communication, and inability to handle a reasonable customer concern ensured that I will never return. The attached photos include timestamps documenting our visit and the lengthy wait and a photo of Henry so you can avoid him. DO NOT COME.

We were coming from the festivsl and hadn't eaten much all day, so we decided to start with ordering food. We waited at three different bars before finally ordering, only to be told they were out of the item I paid for. When I tried to reorder, the bartender completely forgot I had already paid and never put in my replacement order. After finally realizing that she hadn't put my order in after 45 minutes, I asked for a refund. Her way of making it right was giving me a dry, unsauced 6-piece wing (which wasn't what I ordered - my replacement order was a 12pc wing tossed in "cav's sauce" which was around the same price as the egg rolls I ordered and paid for). I asked for a refund AGAIN and she said she'd have to get a manager. The bartender avoided me and the barback ignored me. At this point I was livid. After never getting my proper order, watching people around me eat and leave, being ignored, and NEVER speaking to a manager, I raised my voice out of frustration. Instead of her trying to rectify the situation, she calls security on me. I was escorted out by security without a chance to explain. Even after showing proof that I only ate part of the food because I was STARVING and explaining the situation calmly, the manager refused a refund. Unprofessional and disrespectful from start to finish.

You'd be unlikely to find this unless you knew to look for it. The main feature of this bar is the cocktail menu; it's creative and ambitious and yet very approachable, with helpful adjectives for each cocktail. The Mango Sticky Rice made my jaw drop; not only did the juicy mango come through, but also somehow a sense of starchiness, while being entirely balanced with the liquor. Definitely some of the best cocktails in Philly. And the music and vibe is so cozy but lively; the live records spinning create a warm atmosphere that is not sleepy nor dancey, instead you'll find yourself tapping your feet and swaying in your seat while in deep conversation or just enjoyable contemplation. I have to shout out Carl and Brianna, who made our evening especially unforgettable. They guided us seamlessly through the menu, were so knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The only sad thing is that my favorite bartenderess is no longer there, but the staff is still awesome, and the music is always on point, which keeps the vibe strong. Just a heads-up: this cocktail bar is upstairs from Sassafras, and the menus are completely different. If you're looking for a true craft cocktail experience, make sure you're upstairs at 48 Record Bar. The atmosphere is great. I usually go on Saturday nights around 8 p.m. and have been lucky to grab a seat, though it definitely gets more crowded later.
