I get it almost every time. Sadly, the last time I went, I got my usual, and it was not good. The description on the menu says it has "assorted veggies," and if you look at the photo of this dish on their online menu, you can see it has lots of colorful vegetables including baby corn, green beans, carrots, mushrooms, celery, sweet peppers, etc. Yesterday, I was underwhelmed and surprised. There was chicken , yes, but the "assorted veggies" was five pieces of celery and 3 mushroom slices! All drowned in a ridiculous amount of sauce. Really gloppy and unappealing. And, it was barely warm!! When I expressed my disappointment to the waitress, she tried to tell me that only the "Veggie Lovers" had vegetables. NO. I've gotten this dish for years, and it always had lots of vegetables. The waitress did then bring me a small dish of steamed carrots and a broccoli floret, but I will think twice before I recommend Thai Spice to anyone again. Evidently, the quality has really gone downhill. So sad. My friend ordered Pineapple Fried Rice, and she said it also was short of the usual ingredients. This was the Thai Spice on Douglas.

I really enjoyed this restaurant!…read more I saw that a friend had eaten there and have been looking for good Chinese food in Lee's Summit. This is good Chinese food. I dined in and enjoyed the very hot Crab Rangoon and amazing sweet n sour sauce. It was thick! Loved that it wasn't runny. I ordered the Mongolian Pork, extra spicy with pork fried rice. Both were super hot and delicious. Very impressive! Loved the sauce and fresh veggies. The restaurant is clean and well run. I would totally return.

Ordering was a bit frustrating--you have to do it through DoorDash even for pickup, and it doesn't let you customize much. I tried to add shrimp to my fried rice by leaving a note, but I had no way of knowing if they saw it. Turns out they did add it (with a $4.50 upcharge), but I didn't find that out until I got home and opened the container. It would've been nice to be notified or asked to confirm the change as it says it will and asked your preferred way to be contacted. As for the food--it was just okay. The fried rice was super yellow and didn't have much flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was fine; the breading was a little doughy for my taste, but nothing a few minutes in the air fryer couldn't fix. It's hard to mess up sweet and sour chicken, but nothing about it stood out. They estimated a 25-30 minute wait, but my food was ready 15 minutes early and they sent a text when it was done, which I appreciated. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. If you're craving good Chinese food, I'd look elsewhere.

This place is great! We live in Lee's Summit and have never been here…read more Our niece was visiting town and said she wanted some barbecue, so since they have a toddler, we looked up something close to their Airbnb on Yelp and found The Filling Station. Like another iconic joint in the metro, this one is a former gas station. The brisket at that place is a little bit better. However, everything else that I tried here is spectacular. The sliced brisket was just a little dry. It wasn't bad. The sausage was amazing. It is housemade with green onions and incredible. I generally don't care for sausages that are different, but this one is exceptional and everyone at the table tried it and loved it. The pulled pork was fresh, which is super important and delicious! Wonderful smoky flavor and super tender. They know exactly what they're doing with pork. I'm gonna say that the beans here are the best in the metro. I'm very particular and I don't like beans that are too sweet like Slaps. Those gag me. The Filling Station beans are absolute perfection. Other reviews say the same. The creamy coleslaw was wonderful! My wife put it on her pulled pork sandwich and I had a little bit for dessert because it's sweet. The homemade potato salad was also the best I've had in a long time. We can't wait to return!
