It's a family run affair and the mom even gives me crap about using Mike to pick up my order instead of my official name... Michael that the my bank uses on the bill. Only my mom and one ex-wife call me Michael!!! The pork fried rice is my go to, but lately I've been broadening my horizons. The Triple Delight may be my new go to. Cashew chicken was great, plenty of flavor and mushrooms delicious, not cooked to oblivion and mushy. Orange chicken extra spice was good, plenty of spice but somewhat lacking in its sauce and orange flavor. We absolutely loved our dinner from there tonight. We ordered takeout because of the bad weather. My husband and two kids had the orange chicken with fried rice. The chef in this Lee's Summit location must be Caucasian. No self-respecting Chinese chef would let this sweet and sour pork version leave their kitchen. It was literally a bowl of what looked like heavily breaded hush puppies, (No shade on hush puppies intended.) along with a container of veggies in sweet/sour sauce. I picked the breading off and was left with approximately 25% of the original volume. Never seen anything like it. On the call to complain I was told that's how they do all their meat dishes with sauce. OMG! If you still find yourself eating here, set your expectations low. read more

I love their fried rice. The owner is funny and outspoken. The prices are fair. I have never eaten there though. I only get takeout.

So I entered the store and asked for a menu. The woman stated that "the prices are changed, that is why we don't have any menus out." But then she gives me a menu. I was skeptical but it's whatever. She still hands me a menu and I placed an order. She states "that will be 10 Dollars. Do you want large or small?" I ask her well What is ten dollars? She states that the large is 10 and the small is 7 dollars. I request the small. Another of a different ethnicity enters the store and asks me for the menu. I hand it to her and state that the menu prices aren't in effect and the prices have changed. The Asian woman states, no they are not! I asked her isn't that what you just told me? Every time I pick up my order it's piping hot, generously portioned, and ends up tasting delicious. It's chinese takeout, not 5 star gourmet, if you go in expecting to be seated and served with good service you're in the wrong place. They have a good online ordering system with lunch/dinner specials and it works great. Lets you just walk in and wave and grab your food. My aide picked up our call in order that was left on a table with no verbal contact. She picked up an order that she believed to be all ours. Unfortunately she picked up an $8 order that apparently belonged to someone else. The owner called me to tell me she was charging me, then had her manager do the same. I've tried just about every Chinese place in town and this one wins, hands down. The food is always fresh, quick, and tasty. I took my elderly mom with me for lunch on a Saturday. The food was fantastic! I had the Kung Pao chicken and she had the cashew vegetables and we shared crab rangoon and it was all exquisite. Drink choices are water or a 20 oz plastic bottle of soda. No tea, no coffee. The service was ODD. The lady that was working in the front was very curt and businesslike. She was never rude but it was just weird. Like, for instance, I told her that we would like the crab rangoon to start and she literally just walked away. No "ok" , no nod, no "I will have that out soon", just walked away. I was wondering if she heard me and I was pleasantly surprised when our crab rangoon did show up. All of our interactions with her were the same. Very minimal, no smiles or friendly "do you need anything else" type conversation. She just did the bare minimum and as a former retail employee, it made me chuckle because I get it, retail work is so mentally exhausting that you often want to just not be there. We did not get our check (there were only two other groups of two there while we were there so it did not seem busy) and we were ready to go so I went up to the counter and asked if we could pay and I did not get an itemized receipt at all, just a total! Very odd. I have never seen this before at any restaurant! I knew about what our total should be and it seemed a little low so I went with it. She did not do the thing where they give you two copies so that you can put a tip on the restaurant copy so I put no tip on my card and just used cash in the tip jar. Again, very strange! The rice was brown yet not traditional fried rice. I also got a combination fried rice, this was a traditional fried rice. The portions were very large and quality of food was fair for the price.
