I tried Schlotzsky's for the first time the other day - it was pretty good! It looks like they're more known for their Sandwiches, but I decided to try out their vegetable 10 inch pizza. It's a pretty massive size and the amount of vegetables they put on the pizza is pretty generous for an individual pizza. I would definitely recommend trying the vegetable pizza, the workers were very friendly and there were a bunch of different condiments you can put on your sandwich/pizza inside. read more

Love coming here for a cheesy warm sandwich loaded with chicken and toppings. The fiesta chicken has become my favorite! This review is for our experience yesterday. We were in between errand destinations and chose to get food at a place neither of us have had in over 12 years.   I truly didn't remember enjoying Schlotzsky's in the last state and town where I went there last but I most certainly did this time around! ^_^    Customer service at this location was good and comfortable for my partner and I, and once again-we coincidently chose a super slow day of business so our food was as fresh as could be.  The only sad part about it all was having to specially request no cheese on my sandwich. -__-  It bothers me every single time even though I've been needing to do this for many years now. Still sucks though. Would any of YOU give up cheese if you medically had to? lol..  Terrible!  But anyhow,   we had a lovely early dinner yesterday here and recommend it to those passing by in that area.  The style of bread was different than I was used to at deli places I suppose. Spongy, but not in an off putting sorta way. It toasted up really well, and the pastrami I got on the dark rye bread I chose was really flavorful and rich! My partner tried their ham & cheese if I'm not mistaken and he too agrees the bread caught him for surprise. He personally didn't care for how sharp the edges of his bun was while taking bites. I can see that. It didn't bother me any, but it did for him. We frequent this location and something is very wrong! I don't know what happened to this location in Lee's Summit. Ordered 2 The Original. They came with plain bread not the cornmeal or the jalapeño cheese we ordered. The add ons were a joke, one banana pepper and tiny piece of onion. One piece of ham, if there was more meat you could not tell because there was a tablespoon or more of mustard. Lettuce 2 tiny shreds. Maybe an olive, if there was signature sauce the mustard masked it. I don't remember if there was cheese. Mustard is a condiment not a sauce. The sandwiches looked nothing like the pictures. My wife and I went here for Father's Day. It was a very good experience. The restaurant was not very busy. So the staff was very attentive to us. The sandwiches we ordered were prepared perfectly. They were delicious and fresh. And either my wife or I had had Schlotzsky's in years. And great memories came flooding back. We will certainly return to this location. Schlotzsky's has been one of my favorite sandwich places. The only thing is, they can't seem to keep one open near me since the Blue Springs location closed up, I've visited this location in Lee Summit when I'm in the area. They have the same consistent, great quality sandwiches. I decided to try the salad today, which really surprised me. It was really delicious and had lots of strawberries, nuts and lettuce. All served up with a great salad dressing and a piece of garlic toast to boot! The ladies that are working at this location, do a great job and are very friendly and get your food out to you right away. The place is clean, and there's plenty of seating. I am a regular whenever I get the craving for a Schlotzsky's sandwich. I was finally able to convince my wife she should try Schlotsky's for her 1st time. Since she's not much of a sandwich person, She found the pick 2 with salad and soup (Ceasar with loaded potato soup) and decided to try it. I love me an original deluxe, usually on sour dough with jalapeños added. I decided to try a different bread, jalapeño cheese. We ordered online for a pickup order and upon arriving 15 min after the order was placed, walked in and the food was ready. Got home and was extremely disappointed with both the sandwich and pick 2. This was probably the worst Schlotzsky's sandwich I have ever had. 1st off the bread didn't look anything like jalapeño cheddar bread, not even sourdough. After the first couple of bites, something tasted off. Checking the sandwich, it turned out it was the jalapeños that tasted old. Also, the lettuce (wilted) and tomatoes (mushy) tasted and smelled old. Ripped the sandwich apart to save the meat for making my own sandwich. My wife did not like the Ceasars dressing and the loaded potato soup was missing, well potatoes!! Sad experience for her trying Schlotzsky's for the 1st time. I had the turkey sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup, my husband had the pizza. The soup did not have the cheese flavor I expected, so I don't think they used real cheese, probably a processed cheese sauce. The sand -witch was fine , but the meat was a bit wet for me. I like the texture of Subways meat better. As for the pizza, it was a great size for a single person that eats a lot or a couple. My husband wished it had a bit more sauce though. I stood at the front counter for 5 minutes before someone came to greet me and take my order. The soda machine needs to be cleaned more regularly, orange soda was dripping off of the ice dispenser. I need to remember to read Yelp reviews before I go back to a restaurant I haven't been to in a while. If I had it would have saved me from the trouble. So for you Yelpers, here's my latest experience and it has to do with service and the very little response from the so-called manager I spoke with. To begin with, the past few times they have messed up my sandwich order because it seems that they don't have the same menu as the original Schlotzsky's here or in Overland Park. The wonderful Angus beef and cheese with Provolone and sauteed mushrooms and oniions? They don't have it. So I have to make do with what is available. We drove to this location last night and arrived at 9:30 and the place looked closed. All the chairs were up. However, we drove to the door and saw that the place closes at 10. So, my husband and I went in. We went to the counter and no one came. I waited while my husband went to the restroom. I continued to wait and wait, and then I called out for some help. There was a young man in the back, who I assumed couldn't here me. I almost gave up, having the feeling that teenagers were running the place, and wanted to go home early. I wasn't far from my suspicions. After about 10 minutes a girl came idling to the counter and took my order. We got the food in a timely manner and was as good as you would get from this place. At about 10 O'Clock, my husband was finished and I wasn't far from being done, maybe just a few bites left. The girl who took my order came and told us that the place has closed and that when we were finished we needed to let her know, and she would let us out at the side door. Suddenly I see about three people up front, as if they mysteriously appeared, and where were they before? One of the guys, was an Asian kid who gave me a dirty look as if asking, "why was I still there?" Not a minute or so after he gave me that look did the girl come back, which was about 3 minutes after she had been to the table, and she told me, "We have closed, so you will need to be finished by 10:10." I was about to take her up on the offer and add ten minutes just to be a pain because I had only two bites left and felt incredibly rushed, especially when I had to wait ten minutes for someone to take my order. I called and asked for the manager today, and he was a sorry excuse for a manager. Proposed all sorts of excuses as to why these people behave this way, inciting youth and well "the guy is foreign and it's a culture thing." I'm sorry, I've been to plenty of Chinese restaurants and Japanese restaurants and never get the dirty get-out-of-my-face look. He told me that it has been an issue where people have complained about this same Asian guy before, and the issue with no one being up front? Well, I guess they don't care about their over-priced Cinnabons because he said it has been an issue with their workers going to the back and staying there. He acted very cluelss, and so I don't see this second Schlotzsky's staying around either. read more

This is a memory from Univ of Neb.- Lincoln. I love the original sandwich plus extra olives. The bun is what makes it different from other baked sandwiches. We love Schlotzkys food. We were in Lees Summit for a wrestling Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 5 2023. We were happy to know there was a Schlotzkys across the street and made plans to go there for dinner before heading home. We ordered our food and picked out a table for 6. There was a person sitting alone in a booth near us. We received our food and we're having a private conversation when the afore mentioned person jumped into our conversation and started swearing at us with F____ being his favorite. My 8 year old Grandson started crying, my daughter-in-law asked him to quit cussing because there were kids around. He did say he didn't mean to upset the kids but then his tirade just escalated. We went up to the counter to get to go boxes for our food and told the employees we were leaving because he was ruining our meal. He threatened my son to go outside so he could hurt him. Who knows, he may have had a weapon. All this time the Employees did nothing. (They know the guy) We left and took our food to a picnic area across the street. I called to speak to the manager today and he was one of the employees there last night. He was rude, condescending and said it is not his job to control the behavior of customers. The Blue Springs location, which just opened, is the worst excuse for a sandwich EVER. I ordered a Beef and Chedder, medium and a large drink...$12.00+. I appreciate the gluten-free options at Schlotzsky's, especially the available soups, however, the past couple of times I have ordered through the drive-thru and requested no croutons or bread stick with my salad, due to gluten intolerance, this request has been forgotten or ignored and I have returned home only to find these items contaminating my salad. What is even more disturbing is that the last order was taken by a manager/assistant manager who was training someone on the drive-thru. If you are going to offer gluten free options, please be sure to train your employees to listen well to the order and accommodate the gluten free request, otherwise, the consumer is disappointed and is unable to trust that their order will be correct. read more

Excellent as always. Went thru the drive thru, all the food was warm, delicious, they always get my special order right.

My roommate and I really enjoy Schlotzsky's sandwiches, particularly the Bacon Grilled Cheese with tomato soup. We also enjoy the fact they have Cinnabon, if we ever got the chance to eat it. We have tried ordering cinnamon rolls 3 different times from the Tudor Rd establishment but they were forgotten each time. I called to let them know how many times this mistake has happened and they wrote my name down so I could receive a free cinnamon roll to make up for it. When I went to redeem this, they said that because I did not come and get the cinnamon roll within 2 weeks, the offer would be invalid. I understand they don't want to keep track of a piece of paper with a random name written on it until that person shows up, but this deadline was not communicated to me on the phone. When I explained this, the cashier was nice enough to give me the cinnamon rolls anyway. She gave me the bag and said Cinnabon was in there, but once again (for the 4th time, if you're keeping track), they were forgotten. Some could say I should just check the bag before I leave, I agree, however I think Schlotzsky's should be a little more attentive with their orders. read more

Ate with my family last night and watch a customer/couple come in and be denied reasonable service. They ordered food did not come out for 30 min. When it did come out it was for only one of them and it was cold. They asked for refund and left. However the manager never washed hands from food prep to register. I really want to enjoy this place, but for the price if their sandwiches, which is well more than any other fast food place and lesser quality than any other real restaurant , it's hard to justify visiting this place. I have always enjoyed Schlotzsky's very much. When they closed in Independence years ago I was very disappointed. The line was shorter and thinner as time went on and I knew their days were numbered. In the new Lee's Summit location the customers just keep coming and I hope that continues. When a special request is made - i.e. no onions, they need to be more careful about following that request. They may cause an incident with a severe allergy when being careless and face consequences that could be serious. This must be covered during training! Besides that, the food is terrific, especially the bread. I'm not a sour dough fan, but it is as good as sour dough can get for me. The rest of the bread is wonderful. The meat is fresh and tastes amazing. The lettuce and tomatoes are fresh and make the smoked turkey taste great. The French dip is a great sandwich and their soups are perfect. If they wanted to expand their menu, French fries would be a perfect addition. I have been known to drive to McDonalds or Sonic to complete my meal.
