Matt was a great and fun tour guide! He knows a lot about Door County and the lake and bay, pretty much anything you could think to ask from a boat including history. This is not your fathers boar tour!! We did the lighthouse and shipwreck tour absolutely the coolist. Capt. Matt really has done his homework when it comes to the knowledge and facts about the wrecks and lighthouses. His boat can get you right on top of these wrecks in crystal clear water. Hubs and I went on the Classic Tour with Captain Matt over Labor Day Weekend and we had a blast! The tour is 2 hours long, and started off in the Fish Creek Town Marina. There were 6 of us on the boat, not including the captain, and it was just the right amount of people to keep the tour personal but not awkward. Captain Matt is entertaining, knowledgeable, and overall a fantastic tour guide. We got to check out the Strawberry Islands, Chambers Islands, and Adventure Island from afar (they are privately owned), and Horseshoe Island up close. Captain Matt also took us to see the bat cave, ship wrecks, and the famous light house at eagle harbor. We even got to see a shipwreck up close through the water. He shared with us the history and stories behind all the landmarks, and it was so nice learning the stories behind Door County and how the small towns along the peninsula came to be. The tour kept a good pace, and Matt was energetic throughout, and had the perfect music playing while we were jetting between locations. The boat itself is in great shape, well maintained, and clean. I definitely recommend this tour for those visiting DC for the first time. It's a good way to see the sights and learn about the history, not to mention a great value for the price. Captain Matt also has different tours throughout the area on different days of the week. We really want to check out the Death's Door Tour next time we are in DC. read more

I took my 3 daughters (ages 5, 9, 10) on the "Death's Door" tour, which was about 2 hours long. The boat seated 6 people so it was our family and a mother/daughter with us. Of the 5 days we spent in Door County this was by far our favorite activity. It was much more exciting than taking a slow moving boat tour, and although bumpy (you can sit in the back of the boat if you want a smoother ride), the kids LOVED the speed. Captain Matt really goes out of his way to make the tour entertaining, and he has a great sense of humor. We visited a shipwreck, lighthouses, and a tiny remote island that has been overtaken with hundreds of seagulls. I've legit been on every tour offered in Door County since I was 13. I used to hate them, and I mean hate them. They are ridiculously boring, but I go because everyone wants to go...repeatedly. This time, I was celebrating my anniversary with my husband...we are in our early 30s, so we weren't interested in the same old tour. My husband has only been to DC two other times, one was for our wedding. So I really wanted to give him a good tour since I've seen everything a thousand times in the last 20 years(approx 40 to 50 times today). I found this place and Captain Matt did not disappoint! I finally got a tour that wasn't average! I got a tour that took my enjoyment of learning to a whole knew level! It was exciting, and Matt knew a lot!
