This was absolutely a 5-star experience from beginning to end! One of my two torsion springs broke. At about 10AM I called and got Raphael (sp?) who was very pleasant and professional. He told me there was a set price ($279) to replace both springs. I mentioned the rod, drums and cables were old as well. He said they would check them out when they came out. I was given a window of 1 - 4PM (same day!) and told I would get a call 30 minutes out. I got a call at 1PM from George and he arrived at 1:30. George is terrific. He is very pleasant and personable and really knows his stuff. He inspected the entire system. He said nothing else was in need of replacement, then proceeded to replace both springs and lubricate all other parts. The door runs smoother and quieter than ever. The price? Exactly $279. I accidentally drive into my garage door. After looking at the door I thought for sure I would need replace the bottom panel. As with many reviewers, one of our Torsion springs broke on our garage door. We noticed this Sunday, and called about three different places for quotes. Door Doctor was very clear in how their pricing works, and what the cost would be for replacing all of the springs and not only the broken ones. They came out the next day and had everything fixed in about an hour. Tt all is working perfectly, and was exactly what had been quoted. Also as others have said, we backed into our garage door and made a small dent. When we mentioned it to the tech who had come out he made a minor adjustment, and said it's really only visual and not hurting the door. If we did want to fix the panel, it would be better to replace the doors, since our current panels aren't made anymore, and the new ones have insulation. We didn't get any pressure to actually replace the doors at that point, and I felt great knowing that we received some information without pressure to commit. I have been unable to pair either of my cars built-in door openers to my older garage door openers. I called Door Doctor and the gentleman explained to me that the model I have likely has a frequency incompatibility with my cars. Rather than coming out and charging me to do the work, he gave me the name of an add-on device I can buy from Amazon.com and easily install myself. The fact that he gave me this advice for free and didn't try to sell me on a service I don't need a professional for speaks to the integrity of the company. One of our doors stopped working. Technician came by, identified a broken motor part, recommended replacing vs fixing since it was 20+ years old and likely to break more. Did not push us to replace the other motor, but we did anyways since they were the same age. Had to arrange a second trip to do that as they didn't have all the equipment, but no extra cost for visit. Lubricated up and showed how to maintain equipment better in the future as well. I really want to be a do it yourself-er, but when you Google "garage door spring repair" nearly all of the sites recommend calling an expert. Wow. Wasn't expecting that. Thought you could just go buy a new spring. Not so much. We called, they came, they saw, they conquered. All in less than 24 hours. We used them for an extension spring replacement. Apparently, you can't just repair one, you have to do both, and also not a good idea to leave the old safety wire. After dealing with a no show, and other local garage repair folks who don't return calls and emails, these guys returned our first call at 9PM at night. AMAZING. Guess that's why they're in the service business- to actually serve. Came out the next day, on time in the window prescribed (and gave a 1 hour call ahead to alert when they'd arrive). Again, AMAZING. All work is under warranty as well. One-year for labor and parts and 3 years on the springs. read more

Door doctor came out today to replace a broken spring on a garage door and after the service was done I noticed that the garage door opener lights were much dimmer. I removed the light fixture and noticed that the two LED 100w equivalent bulbs are missing and they were replaced with cheap incandescent bulbs. I am left wondering who would want to steal LED bulbs? Few weeks ago I noticed the door jerk whenever I closed it so I called and they made an appointment for me right away. Like many others, I had an excellent experience with Door Doctor yesterday. Our home inspection report mentioned that the springs were the wrong size, the safety cable was missing, and the sensors to prevent injuries to children were too high off the ground. I had put off fixing these issues, thinking they would cost a lot to fix. I was wrong. Door Doctor has excellent pricing and there was no reason to put off fixing the problems. I called Door Doctor, who had an appointment the next day. I was not available, but I appreciate that they could have been here the next day if I had been available. George S called before he arrived, which I appreciated. I often request that courtesy, and not all companies do it (even if they say they will). After listening to my concerns, George S surveyed the garage and identified other issues with the track (too wide here, too narrow there). I appreciate when a contractor knows his business and can identify other issues that escape my notice. He then worked tirelessly in the hot evening sun to finish the job in a timely manner. At the end he spent time making sure I knew exactly what he had done, and why, and made sure I knew how to test my door's safety features on an annual basis. I really appreciated that.
