I just had Door Pros fix my garage door opener, and these folks are amazing. First off, they got me a morning appointment the next day so I could get it fixed before leaving on vacation. Mason was incredibly knowledgeable about door details, and educated me as he fixed a sensor wiring problem and tuned up the loose chain and squeaky door so it runs quieter and smoother than it has in years. He did this all for his $139 visit-price, without any unnecessary ad-ons or surprises. I'm used to home-contractor visits turning into a game of poker as the contractor tries to figure out what kind of charges he can swing, but Mason was nothing like this. He told me about the wear he could see, and let me know when I might expect to need to replace different parts, but wasn't trying to push unnecessary repairs. We had our beautiful garage doors installed a month ago. The installers did a great job, and our new doors are so quiet! One of the doors came with the wrong glass, and Door Pros took care of that. The installers who came out to replace the glass were also very professional, and did a wonderful job of cleaning up. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and the remote in my car stopped working. Our garage door motor went out on a Friday night and we were going away for three nights the following Monday morning. And we needed to have someone come out immediately to replace the motor. We called Door Pros early on Saturday morning and they were able to send a technician out on Saturday afternoon. The technician diagnosed the problem and replaced the Genie motor with a Liftmaster motor in a matter of two hours. Tyler, the technician, did a great job and explained everything about the new garage door system to us, including how to install the app on our phone and setting up the communication with my wife's car so that she could open and close the garage door directly from her car without having to use the remote control. Door Pros did a great job for us. One of the two big springs across the top of the garage door had snapped, so the garage door was pretty much stuck. They got to our house when they said they would (within the 2 hour window). They replaced two springs for a few dollars more than what we were quoted by another outfit for just ONE spring. Throughout the job, the installer was pleasant and professional. And the garage door works and sounds great. We definitely will call them again for any future jobs. Garage door spring broke this AM so was unable to get out of garage. Needed fast service to free me and Door Pros responded. Called at 10:30AM and they told me there would be someone there between 1PM and 3PM. Dwight called me at 1:45 and told me he would be there in 10 to 15 min which he was. I set up an appointment with them a week in advance to repair the garage doors on a piece of income property, but they didn't show. When I called and spoke with Glen, he said he had no record of the appointment. I'm a highly organized person and I'm certain I made the appointment with Door Pros for the exact time and date--especially since it meant that I had to drive 45 minutes to the building location, wait through the entire two hour window Door Pros provides for appointments, and then I had to drive 45 minutes back home. When I asked to schedule a follow up appointment at a specific time, because my week was so busy, Glen refused to do give me a precise appointment time. He seemed to believe that because the appointment was not in his system, I must have never made it. I was certain I had made the appointment with Door Pros, because I always dialed their number from one sent to me by my realtor and the calls were in my phone log. Nonetheless, Glen wouldn't show any flexibility to make up for his company's possible mistake, a possibility which he seemed unwilling to admit, but which I am quite certain of. I can understand how any company might make a mistake like this, but being so obstinate and unwilling to accommodate a customer after the fact, just seems like a bad attitude toward customer service--one I would expect them to replicate with other aspects of their service. I decided I'd be better off hiring another garage door company, rather risk continued poor customer service. Door Pros seems to get many positive reviews, but that was far from my experience. read more
