The Doorkeeper, Jeremiah, rescued us from a botched up job done by some one else about 4 months ago. I highly recommend this guy. He proved to be a 'door keeper', for sure. He was very consciously focused on getting my problem solved, with professional level of expertise at each step of the way, while doing it quickly as possible, and at a cost that was much better than anticipated. The repair process of the broken/twisted track mechanism went so well, that I next requested more extensive work to replace both of the torsional springs on this double wide door, as well as the adjacent single-car garage door. He always uses the highest quality springs and rollers, and ended up doing a replacement of a total of 3 springs, cables, long stem safety rollers and straighten out a vertical track. And he did it without the usual price gouging tactics I incurred by/from another previous garage door serviceman. The 'other/previous' repair was the replacement of a broken torsional spring on a double wide 8' garage door, plus replacing of the 2nd (un-broken) torsional spring as a precaution/maintenance thing. But start to finish the whole repair process was filled with red-flags that were ignored under the pressure of the 'emergency situation'. On the other hand, Jeremiah, the owner and 'technician' turned out to NOT be some 'unknown independent contractor' that works through some dispatch center somewhere 'out of town', or even out of state,...Do I need to say m Jeremiah has a work ethic that reminds me of the 'good old days' when having a 'family or locally owned business' actually meant something, and not just something that was designed to misrepresent how that business is organized and operated. This guy is on my list of most recommended to anyone that has a garage door that might need repair or fixin. I contacted my property management company with regards to a hinge that had snapped on my sectional garage door and needed to be replaced on Memorial Day. By Tuesday, I received a calk back from Jeremiah representing "The Doorkeeper" Garage door and service and repair. Jeremiah was very friendly worked around my work schedule on Wednesday to meet the repair request. He was understanding of my schedule and he also provided me a timeframe as to when he would be here. Jeremiah arrived on time for the repair and was ready to tackle my request. He was friendly, courteous, and ready to answer any questions that I would have. Jeremiah performed a pre-work inspection of all the hinges to make sure they were seated properly in place and were intact. Jeremiah noticed that there was a screw missing in a hinge assembly (I had not even noticed it) and offered to replace it. He was very thorough with his work and only took about 20 minutes. Following the repair, Jeremiah walked me through the work that was performed. He lubricated all moving parts and made sure the garage door was in good working order, the door sensors were functioning properly, and that all bolts were tightened down. Again, Jeremiah was very thorough and answered any questions that I had. The level and quality of work he performed was excellent and I was extremely pleased. There was a noticeable difference after work on the performance of the garage door which was now moving up and down like new! Within 2 hrs (due to distance and rush hour) of my call I had Cameron at my door, within 5 mins he identified the problem and gave me several options. Highly technical and knowledgable about my garage door and the root cause of my problem. I did not feel pressured nor feel that I was being taken advantage off due to the emergency. he even put his boss on the phone to reassure me. Called that my garage is making a noise and answered right away, gave me an estimate with what is going on. Then called somebody else and the estimate was half. I got charged $25 for an estimate and parts that don't exist in my garage door, Jeremiah wanted to change the genie gear and BUSHINGS( those 2 parts don't even exist), claiming that he is the only one that knows about These 2 parts. The moment I told Jeremiah that I want to get a second opinion, he got so nervous and almost left the house without the service call check. It was kind of funny. Got home at night and the garage door would not open with the remote, but I could manually open and close it. When using the remote, the motor would hum, but the door would not move. I appreciate that The Doorkeeper was able to come out the next day. However, the least expensive opener they tried to sell me was about $400 + $125 install. When I said openers at Home Depot started at $120, the rep said that they use commercial openers. He also told me that I needed to replace the door tracks and quoted a cost to lube all. I ended up going with Home Depot. Installation cost was the same, no new tracks were needed and they lubricated everything at no additional charge. read more
