HIGHLY RECOMMEND** I had gotten 3 estimates with Tiptop being the last estimate. Joel came by to do our estimate and was so efficient and knowledgeable. I was really impressed. He was almost was too fast(in the best way) in the since he knew exactly what he was doing and taking about, I was slow to catch up lol. He gave me a few different options. Whereas the other 2 companies gave me a very cheap Band-Aid option or completely new door/system. We decided to go with Tiptop and do middle ground fix as Joel said our 19 year old garage was still in good condition, we just needed to strengthen it up. Our technician John came right on time. Time window was 10am-12pm. He was fast and went to work quickly. When I asked questions he too was knowledgeable, friendly, and his work was VERY clean. He even the extra mile and showed me how to live everything Including the motor chain and door hinges. Now that our door is strengthened, all hinges replaced, new sensor, cable reattached, we can work on replacing everything to a new system in stages. Instead of the big price tag all at once. Our black tension spring failed sounding like an explosion on our single car garage. This was so loud that my wife cell called me saying it scared the heck out of her. We were happy to welcome Phil of TipTop Door Service the same day. Phil had all the parts necessary to repair our small garage door in an hour. Having also a double car garage door he suggested we replace their 25 year old springs as well. Yup, he had the necessary springs for these too. Not only did he replace all three springs but serviced both doors with special lubricant. Now they are much quieter. Lastly, just before he left he installed a unit to accept the newer frequencies so my 2012 vehicle can open the garage door using the cars visor instead of a separate remote. Absolutely amazing service! John was very thoughtful, took the time to explain what he would be doing. He assessed the situation and figured out the problem right away then gave me an estimate. He did explain that he would be doing a thorough inspection and would let me know if he found anything else but would not do any additional repairs without my prior approval. Repair was done within 20 minutes then did the additional inspection including lubrication if needed areas. Previously opening and closing the garage was SO LOUD. After the lubrication it reduced the noise by more than 50% without any additional charge. I would recommend them to anyone for fair, honest and quality work. Refused to deduct the initial $85 show up fee as they said they would. Was $200 less elsewhere AND a better motor and experience. To no fault of theirs when they came out in December my garage door was momentarily working so they greased it up and stated they still need to charge me $85 for the appointment. They stated they would reimburse that if I purchased the new motor through them. I reached out for them to purchase the motor. They responded quickly and said they would be here tomorrow. The next day when they came, they had no notes as they said they previously did and were not prepared to install. I did confirm the rate was the same as it was in December. The next day they show up, increase the rate and refuse to deduct the initial fee for showing up. As if that were not enough, they were very unprofessional. While on speakerphone I heard them complaining about another customer as well as giving the current technician a hard time about telling me how much the motor cost. It was very uncomfortable. After trying to calm the Owner down and repeating myself four times that I'm only asking them to do what they originally agreed upon he suggested that I go somewhere else. I agreed. I said this is unprofessional and walked inside. They kept calling and stayed onsite a bit knocking on my door. They also stated I needed a more expensive Genie replacement. Turns out I did not. The LiftMaster is what another vendor is using and is overall a better motor and $200 less than what they were charging. Update: They did apologize afterwards and refunded the initial charge. Then called asking why I put this review up. Because it was my experience and wasted time. I had to hang up- then received another text- again very unprofessional.

He was very friendly from the start. He asked me for some additional information and to send some picture and videos which helped him out. He then gave me some available appointments, I picked one, and he gave me a 2 hour time window to arrive. He texted when he was on his way and it he arrived right in the middle of that window. Then right on queue, while demonstration the problem, the door problem got worse and then would not even go up. Thomas asked me several questions to help determine which was the best option, from several options that he presented. I found that to be very helpful and I appreciate that. He gave me some price estimates, told me how it would take, and he waved the $30 service call. He did a lot of work for me and finished before the time range that he quoted. He fixed the door motor issue, put in a new wall button, new keypad, new wheels, and lubricated and adjusted the door. He was also nice and helped me repair a broken ladder with some parts that he had on him. The whole experience was great, from soup to nuts.
