Came here after reading the glowing reviews. Needed a Hamilton Quartz and Tissot Quartz watch's batteries replaced. Nothing big but I wasn't wanted it done with care. Owner jumped right into swapping it out, when his partner (brother?) came in, he jumped into my second watch. $5 dollars per watch, partner made sure to set both times and dates for me before handing it to me. $10 cash. As I'm noticing now, I know I had a dirty backplate/edge, saw him cleaning that off for me. They take pride in their care. Son took over the business from the dad. Business has been here since the 70's. Definitely coming back with my watch and jewelry needs. They told me their specialty is custom jewelry work but their mainstay is repairs. Fast forward 4 years later, I needed to have the prongs on my engagement ring repaired. The service here is the best. I felt comfortable leaving my ring here to repair and when it was return it looked just as beautiful as when I first received it. I also had a pair of earrings custom made. It was based on a pair I was gift many years ago. I wanted to an upgrade as the metal started to erode and irritated my ears. They were able to recreate my earrings by creating a mold/cast from my old pair. Pretty happy with how they came out and I found that the cost was reasonable. Extremely satisfied! I walked into this business on Monday evening and was immediately assisted by Sarvan. I brought him 2 vintage gold chains passed down to me by my grandma and he graciously helped me measure the chains to adjust them and create a layered look with the strawberry necklace that I already owned. I received a call from Greg on Tuesday morning letting me know my jewelry was ready to pick up! When I picked up the necklaces, they were perfectly adjusted, polished/cleaned, and I was given back the excess gold links in a small bag. I couldn't believe how fair the pricing was as well! I had two diamond studs I wanted set on earring backings that were the press and click type where the backing won't come off without pressing in the earring clasp. Sarven ordered these for me and called me with the quote for the purchase and set. His workmanship is great as I wear these earrings everyday and they're still sturdy and in tact. The backings are also sturdy where they won't come off without a hard press (I lost a diamond earring once from a poorly designed backing that just fell out when I was wearing it ) which is exactly what I wanted. Great work, honest jeweler!! Sarven even recommended me a sturdier metal (white gold instead of platinum) to ensure extra security for my earrings. Thank you Sarven. My gold dragon bracelet broke and I needed it to be fixed. I googled my local jeweler and came across Gem City. My first time in the store the 2 gentlemen were very kind and helpful. Turns out both their fathers were jewelers and taught them the trade. This is a good thing! Upon inspection of my bracelet they informed me that the chain was basic metal and not good quality. For $80 they took off the old chain and replaced it with a 14k gold one and it only took about an hour. I was so impressed I came back the same day with a wedding ring and wedding band I inherited from my grandparents. The wedding ring need a stone, needed to be cleaned, polished and resized. The wedding band just needed a good cleaning and polish. For $500 they put a really nice .5ct diamond that fit the ring very nicely. They had it done in less than 24 hours and I was highly impressed with their work and the price was very reasonable. These guys are the real deal and very kind and helpful for what ever your need may be. I highly recommend this jewelry store. Now let's just hope she says yes! read more
