Dr. Hong is an amazing Doctor. Talking to patients in her waiting room is just the tip of reality. Pregnant moms from pregnancy to birth rave about her care, professionalism and manor. She began seeing my wife in May 2025 after she suffered for years and underwent numerous scans and procedures across many cities, specialists and doctors. Dr. Hong was both diligent and proactive after locating a growth. Following a positive carcinoma biopsy, Dr. Hong ensured my wife was assigned and treated by one of the best surgeons in the field, (Dr. Pham of USC Keck). I wanted to review Dr. Hong after my entire pregnancy experience, in hopes it would help someone. SHE WAS AMAZING. The one thing you should know - appointments were always very quick and rushed. Yes, very true she is busy (but takes time to do the necessary stuff). However, if you need more attention for serious matters or concerns, she WILL take the time. I also liked to ask after every appointment, "What are we doing for the next appointment?" just to prepare and questions I might have ahead of time. I also got pregnant at a mature age and she was so supportive throughout my entire pregnancy and made me feel comfortable. She was respectful and listened to my opinions and wishes for delivery (never pushy). Overall, she was always closely monitoring everything and was very attentive and clear. Dr Hong is a very busy doctor so don't expect long visits with her. Although the short time I did spend with her I felt her kindness and it was refreshing to see how much she loves what she does. She still has that spark of joy and awe at the miracle of life and that is heartwarming. She allowed me to face time my hubby during my appt and even gave him an ultrasound show. I wasn't supposed to get one that day. She encouraged my athletic lifestyle during pregnancy and listened to my concerns about having a geriatric pregnancy. I personally want to deliver at a birth center so I had to leave her after my second trimester but I'm confident she would have been a great doctor during my birth process. read more

Dr. Hong is an amazing doctor. I was told my chances of conceiving were slim to none. But after getting pregnant, not once--but twice, she helped us deliver our babies safely. She monitored us closely and I felt like I was in good hands. After delivering my second, I had some complications due to fibroids, and she performed a hysterectomy. Dr. Hong is very nice and well experienced I'm sure just Not a Fan of the god damn bills!!!. Not only does she order all kinds of Tests during a Pap smear that are expensive and had she ask me would know I don't even need those tests. Tired of receiving bills months later for Labs she ordered!!!! Months later!!!! The real kicker is having to fight for a specific test for something that runs heavy in my family. When I brought up specific reasons she gave me no hope like all the tests I actually wanted she was like nothing works so oh well. F THAT! I will definitely be going some where else. read more

I came to Dr Hong in a panic when I first got pregnant. Because of how well I was treated I decided to stay with her for the remainder of the pregnancy. I was hoping for a natural delivery. Love Dr. Hong! She's personable and candid when speaking with you. She always takes my concerns seriously and I never feel shy about asking questions. Everything went well with my pregnancy so sometimes I felt a little rushed out the door, but I get it--lots of other women to attend to. Also, she really cares about you. I called in with a concern and even though she was about to go on vacation, she squeezed me in before she left. Nice, concise physician, with excellent surgical skills and attention to detail. Kind person and does genuinely care about her patient outcomes. VBAC tolerant (not VBAC friendly), but very upfront about her practice preferences so it truly is your choice to remain with this provider. At times rushed in the office, and felt my personal concerns were not a priority. Bring written down notes and/or a support person if you tend to forget to ask questions/express concerns if you feel rushed. I saw Dr. Dorothy Hong, MD several times a few years ago, but was not a YELP user then. I've often thought of her, though, as she made such a positive impact on my quality of life, so I write this as my "Thank You" to a well-deserving doctor! I had some fairly challenging things going on and Dr. Hong always exhibited much kindness, patience, and compassion regardless of the challenges we faced. When she performed an outpatient surgery on me, she came around to reassure me before I went under, and again to greet me and explain how everything went when I came to. The results spoke for themselves - I was CURED of a horrible problem that had caused me much suffering for many years! How can I express it all without writing a book? I had been seeing Dr. Hong very often for about a year, which resulted in surgery that she performed over a year ago. Without going into too much detail, Dr. Hong was extraordinary. I was a challenging case for her and she devised a treatment plan for me and was there for me every step of the way. She spent tons of time with me and cared for me like no other doctor. She is an amazing, gifted doctor and I recommend her to every woman that I can. First OB visit with Dr Dorothy Hong, I am in my third trimester, I transferred to her when a nurse from Methodist Hospital told me what a good doctor she is. My old OB wasn't affiliated with the hospital I want to deliver and is not a fan on natural birth. I decided to come to this office. Appt was at 10:45 but got there at 10am to fill out paperwork. took me back around my appointment time. Nurse was very nice and funny, she made my day . Room is very clean and bright(white)(love the room lighting). Nurse informed us how the doctor was doing time wise and we waited in the room about 10-15 min. Dr. Hong is very professional yet friendly and actually asks you if you have any questions and she takes her time with you. Love the fact she even asked my mom and relatives that were in the room with me if they had any questions. She went over babies health completely which my old OB had never done. So far very good and very satisfied! I gave a 4 star just because it was my first visit but will update! BTW the whole staff is very professional and friendly great patient care!!!!! read more

Dr. Hong was our OB-GYN for the birth of our son. She was responsive, kind, but blunt with the information that we needed to know. I really enjoyed the time that we spent during our appointments. We wanted to try for an unmedicated birth. Dr. Hong was supportive of our goals, and gave us advice to make a birth plan that was reasonable and met our goals. I would get pregnant again JUST to have her take care of me! She's amazing and always sweet and patient! I had my son 3/9/16 and am a first time mom, she made me feel so comfortable through my whole pregnancy and she's incredibly personable given she has so many patients. She gives you as much time as you need to talk to her or ask questions. Honestly she just is literally everything you'd expect and want from a dr. Dr Hong has been our OB GYN for five years - she is AMAZING!!!!! Trained by mid wives, she and her staff have helped my husband and I bring two beautiful babies into the world, when we would have otherwise been in peril trying to make it through our pregnancies. I have an auto immune disease and crippling hyperemeses. Both conditions combined, created early labor, and other pregnancy complications both times. Not only is Dr Hong the type of Doctor who actually talks to her patients, she fights for them, and has time and time again gotten our insurance to release more medications for us and she and her staff were always there for us and quick to respond when we had a crisis. Dr Hong is amazing with helping with family planning. She not only watched me for postpartum after birth but has helped us to not have children when we wanted to stop. With her, we've had two amazing and compassionate c sections, our tubes tied and prior to our second pregnancy, an IUD. We highly recommend her - she even stitched the incision site, twice, perfectly through my hip tattoos, making it impossible to tell there was a cut at all. read more

Dr. Hong is such a sweetheart of a doctor! I can't begin to tell you how lucky I am to have her as my OB-GYN. Not only is she approachable, easy to talk to, comforting but she's knowledgeable, highly experienced yet without an air of arrogance or rushing you through your visit. Dr. Hong delivered our beautiful son into the world and when the pediatrician (at the time) refused to do our son's circumcision, Dr. Hong stepped up and said, "I'll do it. No problem!" Let me just say that she did a superb job along with his belly button and sewing me up, too! When our son turned 1, we brought him in to see Dr. Hong and also so that he can give her flowers to thank her for delivering him into this world in such a beautiful way.
