I've been a patient with Dr Rose for about 9 or 10 years I love how knowledgeable she is and efficient and friendly the staff is! She delivered my girls and stands out in every way. I hadn't been in the office for quite a while and there have been a lot of changes, new suite, new staff, bigger in a lot of ways. I definitely missed the friendly/family style of the old front desk, now it's much more business/professional. Dr Gau made up for it though, I think she's taking over a lot of Dr Roses patients and I think Dr Rose chose well. Though I've only met Dr Gau once, she still made it a point to make it feel like she was happy to see me and has the same sort of interested, attentive, confident posture that Dr Rose has. I would highly recommend this office, because of Dr Rose and Dr Gau. My wife started her pregnancy healthy, but during her second trimester she began experiencing significant swelling and rapid weight gain. We raised these concerns during her prenatal care, but Dr. Rose attributed the changes to my wife's diet. At eight months pregnant, my wife's blood pressure suddenly skyrocketed. We went to the ER, where we were told she had preeclampsia and that our baby needed to be delivered that same day. Our son was born a month early by C-section. Thankfully, he is healthy and growing strong. Looking back, I strongly believe the warning signs should have been taken more seriously and investigated further rather than being attributed to diet. The experience left me feeling that my wife and son were put at unnecessary risk. Another major concern with this practice is the lack of continuity of care. My wife was not consistently seen by the same doctor throughout her pregnancy, which made the care feel fragmented and, in our experience, contributed to concerns being overlooked or not followed up on appropriately. This was one of the most frightening experiences our family has ever gone through. I was asked to go to the ER by one of their providers, as I was experiencing some issues that were concerning. ER stated it was important that I follow up with Rose after 2 days to recheck bloodwork with OB provider to ensure my low values were trending upwards. I followed up with Rose's office the following morning and received a message that I was scheduled for a follow up appointment with them. Upon arriving they could not find my appointment and I was very understanding and asked if I should schedule an appointment to see the doctor for a follow up. I was advised to go back to the ER (where I already spent $1k out of pocket) if I felt I needed to be seen. On my drive home I called to see if the provider recommended that I follow up with my GP until my appointment with Rose in May (the soonest they can schedule me). There were 3 receptionists in office and no one in the waiting room, yet I had to leave a voicemail and never received a follow up call or message. Suffice to say I followed up with my GP who listened to my concerns and went over my ER visit information and did follow up labs. I am now being seen by cardiology on an emergency referral due to heart palpitations and low potassium levels. I trusted this facility as they stated they are equipped to deal with high risk pregnancies, yet was dismissed when I tried to follow up based on doctor recommendation. I trusted these specialty providers to take care of me and my baby, and all trust has been lost. If they don't care about my health in my first trimester, surely I cannot trust that they will be able to ensure my safety, or even have concern for my well being, for the rest of my pregnancy or during birth. Highly disappointed how a woman's facility could leave me hurting emotionally, medically and financially. I'm 52 and desperately looking for Rx: HRT (especially since I got nowhere with my GP female doctor, because blood-work "normal"). When scheduling, I informed of prior "lack" of care and asked if I needed blood-work, and front desk said No. After waiting 4 months to be seen, Dr Ghau spent less than 5 minutes with me, asked the same questions their paperwork required and said there was "Nothing to do, get blood-work." They ran my insurance AND charged me $300, for Absolutely NOTHING!!! I informed front desk that I specifically asked about blood-work and they said they would talk to their front desk. My experience with Rose Women's Health have been great. All the front desk staff and appointment schedulers have been easy to work with. There have been times they had to cancel my appointments but it happens. It's frustrating but no need to take a step further and write terrible reviews. I have been seen by both Dr. Rose and Dr. Gau and they are both very wonderful and knowledgeable. As a healthcare worker myself, I rarely see good reviews regarding hospitals and clinics. What people tend to forget is that doctors, nurses and medical staff are also humans, and will have good and bad days. They may not smile as much or may seem rushed to get things through on some days. Many people "perceive" these subtle things differently and some will take it personally and write nasty reviews and I find that to be very unfortunate. I express condolences to those that may have had geuninely negative experiences. But before you write up a review that could hurt the clinic, maybe think twice before you do so, because women are complicated, and pregnant women are extra hormonal and emotional. Healthcare burnouts are real because people expect great customer service, but hospitals and clinics are not part of that industry, so that's technically not part of their obligation. read more

I had such a positive experience with this OB office throughout my pregnancy and delivery. I primarily saw Dr. Rose and Dr. Gau, and both are fantastic. Some reviews mention Dr. Gau being "friendlier," but I want to highlight that Dr. Rose is just as wonderful -- she's professional, confident, and highly competent. For a woman to be highly competent at her job can sometimes be unfairly perceived as "cold," but I never once doubted that I was in the best hands. When I had insurance changes during my pregnancy, the office was very willing to work with me, which I really appreciated. Dr. Rose ultimately delivered my baby, and I'm so grateful she did. She was attentive throughout my labor, checking in with the nurses multiple times. When my labor stalled, she suggested a few options. We ended up going with her advice, and then everything progressed quickly -- after just 15 minutes of pushing, my baby was here! What I also loved about this office is that they never pushed me to go one way or another. Instead, they gave their medical perspective and let me decide what I was comfortable with. If you want a smart, medical-forward, no-nonsense team that you can trust for a safe and routine pregnancy and delivery, this is the OB office for you. I have been a patient for years, and while I'm not enthralled with often being shunted to a nurse practitioner because the doc is very busy, the NPs have always been smart and knowledgeable. And while I've never thought much, one way or the other, about the support staff, that opinion changed today with Gabby, who knew me and remembered feedback I had given in the past (about typical doctor-office things that lots of medical practices do that I feel could be improved). She actually called me back and listened to my opinion, and she said they would incorporate my feedback into their practices. That's super rare in this world--especially in the medical field. I would not recommend their care for pregnancy. The doctors are extremely dismissive - I have been interrupted, ignored, and insulted throughout my care. I noticed when my husband accompanied me, they would treat us even worse. As a first time mom, I had some questions (not even a lot) and they made me feel stupid for asking. Dr Rose even said to me - I do this all day, I don't know what I have told you or not. I am always repeating myself so just use your common sense.. I was about to go home after giving birth and just wanted to know what to look for if there was any issues with my body that just went through a lot! She also didn't believe me on the issues I was having postpartum - the checkups afterwards are a joke!! She didn't even ask me how I was doing.... Only looking for postpartum depression like that's the only thing that can happen after giving birth... They just seem to want to collect the money and are going through the motions and are not passionate about the pregnancy/postpartum journey. I am fortunate to have had a successful birth. I can't imagine getting care from rose women's health if I had more needs/questions/complications/concerns. I know I am not the most needy of patients that they have experienced. I had two of my babies with both drs here. The experience was ok, but if you want to feel like your providers really care about you, then this js probably not the place. It's more like you are one in a thousand they need to see and it's very impersonal. Some people might not care about this. But the reason for the 1 star most of all, is that I have struggled with really challenging anxiety and moods mid cycle, and didn't have a primary care physician that I felt comfortable with, so I tried twice to seek help from my obgyn (Dr rose or gao) and expressed my struggles, as they are related to my cycle, and the first time the front desk said because I wasn't postpartum to just see my primary care Dr. I attempted a second time, begged for an apt, had family drive an hour from Riverside as I have no help for my kids otherwise so I could have this apt, I check in, and they turned me away in the room saying the doctor probably wouldn't be able to help me. Needless to say I will never come back to this office and I am devastated that I trusted them with my babies and my Health care and most of all so disappointed that they treated me this way after years of seeing them. My experience with this office has been very disappointing. On two separate occasions while pregnant I would leave a message with the MA regarding a health question and I would never hear back from the doctor. Although this is annoying what really made me feel like i needed to write this review is my experience at my 6 week check up after having my son. During this appointment I had to bring my baby into the office with me and the office staff made me feel like my baby was not welcomed. The nurse who checked me in actually told me to hurry up bc the doctor was waiting for me while I was walking in with my baby and stroller. The nurse had back short hair and I didn't grab her name. Omg i Love DR.Horton!! I'm coming with her forever, im so happy I finally found a obgyn i Can trust and feel comfortable, and at home with. It's so scary to have different changes going on and then of course the black hole that is google searching your symptoms lol So isn't dr recommended here, I was set up with an appointment within 3 days of my call which is super fast and convenient compared to other places, and the Mmmm also a relief because if other places schedule you out months ahead that kinda shows they're not going to be easy to reach if you have concerns down the line. I arrived to my appointment, parking is ample , the office is super clean, and very festive for the season. Reception and nurse staff are very kind and warming. Then within minutes the kindest most genuine caring Dr comes in, oh my god Dr.Horton is the most almost magical Dr I've encountered. She's sooo genuine and caring she really took her time with me, she's extremely skilled and knowledgeable but at the same time so empathetic and caring, I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have found her. I will be coming with her for ever! Thank you so much Dr, and staff I look forward to coming back for check ups :) highly recommend! * Oh and to address other comments I saw on Yelp, yes they don't accept some insurances and I believe it was $250 for a consult/wellness check however I will say it's Worth every penny. I just left her office crying. Dr. Rose was extremely dismissive. She wanted to know more info on why I refused to have a mammogram instead of what I was feeling. I told her because trauma should not be done in the breast area. She said there was no trauma with mammograms" which is a lie. She then asked if I was in the medical field. And what my sources were. Years ago i saw Dr Gau and i had the worst care i have ever experienced in my life. I complained of extremely painful periods that were every single day. I started birth control that she gave me mind you when I addressed the concern of depression as a side effect, All she told me was "well you don't look so happy right now anyways" and it made my symptoms worse, I was in the ER all the time and when I told her that I spent the night in the ER all she told me to do was to use a heating pad and take some Advil and go to the ER if it gets worse, but my life was unbearable. She mentioned the word endometriosis but told me surgery was not an option because I am way too young and to continue taking birth control and that was my only option so it's my choice if I'm going to stay in pain or not, I got a second opinion and I actually had an excision surgery for endometriosis afterwards with the most experienced surgeon in the world and I was diagnosed with stage two endometriosis my organs were all glued together, and my surgeon told me if I waited my disease would have progressed and caused silent kidney loss. The fact that I have more knowledge about endometriosis than a gynecologist is very scary, if I had listened to her and followed her advice as a doctor, I would have lost my kidney and I would have become infertile because she failed to care for her patient, and gave incorrect medical advice read more

If you need your annual gynecological exam and dread going to the doctor, look no further. Wendy, the nurse practitioner, at Rose Women's Health is the person to see. She made the appointment pleasant, yes I said pleasant and really not so bad. Wendy is so caring, understanding, and very gentle! She really listened to my concerns about menopause, changes in my body, and what I had been going through. She was so empathetic and was very interested in what I had to say. She made some very good suggestions that have improved my life in a very short time. The receptionist and staff members were also very helpful. I had to have some reports sent over to the office and they made that happen by Monday! They greeted me and helped me get checked in. One week after my appointment I received a call that the results were inconclusive. They scheduled me for another appointment 3 days later to have the exam again. Only 2 days after my exam I could stop worrying, it came back normal. Rose Women's Health is professional, courteous and very sensitive to your needs. If I could give Dr. Gau and Dr. Rose more stars I would. These two amazing doctors delivered my baby boy this month and I felt like I was in the best care possible in their hands. From the first visit I had the office was very clean and so welcoming. Jacqueline was amazing and made me feel very comfortable. All the front receptionist were so welcoming, and answered all the questions that I had. I had to have a C section done and I felt like I was in the best care possible with Dr. Gua and Dr. Rose delivering my baby. Both doctors are very open on answering all questions you have. Do Not See Doctor Gau.....or Doctor Rose They will treat you like garbage if an insurance claim doesn't go through I feel that women need to know before deciding to come here. Long story short -Back in 2023 I was seen for a yearly procedure...the procedure wasn't done, but they billed my insurance for it -I called in July to have the procedure done. I got denied even though there was no record of the procedure. Instead of taking fault, they canceled my appt 3 times. -Finally got booked for Oct. Came in for the appt. Was notified that I won't be seen unless I pay 300 dollars...I was surprised b/c I wasn't notified back in 2023 of this bill. Come to find out, my Insurance did cover the bill, but Nicole covered herself and billed me for the mistake instead. (Hence why my appt wasn't canceled anymore) (THIS ISNT EVEN THE WORST PART) (Mind you, I didn't cuss at anyone or disrespect anyone. I simply asked why I was getting billed and to check for record of this previous procedure) -Got seen by Doctor Gau. She was talking poorly about me before entering my room, not knowing I could hear. (Regarding not wanting to see me if I didn't pay) (Side note: they took my card down already to pay the bill) (Paying wasn't the issue, which is why I didn't question it/fight it...I figured I'd pay it and deal with the insurance another time. (I really needed this procedure, so it wasn't my main concern.) -During my visit she kept talking about her staff, the payment, checking her watch, and kept cutting me off every time I wanted to discuss my health. -She still hasn't given me the form I need to have my previous records sent over. I asked Nicole to have me be seen for my follow up with Doctor Rose. She denied me and said Doctor Rose would call. Never heard anything until after this review. I asked Doctor Rose what the issue may be if they have everything they needed to get their payment. She then mocked me,laughed at me, and told me she will not be doing my follow up appointment. (She deemed me as a patient who couldn't pay.) BUT SHE HAD MY CARD. I only wanted to be seen so I can get my results ASAP and then never be seen by them again. She kept asking me why I wanted to be seen by her. (So regarding her response below, there were not multiple attempts to assist with my billing to medical care.) Basically the patients needs are not top priority. Extremely stressful. They gaslight and manipulate and have no issue treating you like dirt. I've had nothing but good experiences at this facility until today. I've been coming to this place for quite a few years. I make my appointment a year in advance. My first appointment was canceled, I re-scheduled, it was also canceled. I re-scheduled again. I arrived for my appointment today, checked in online entered the office and checked in with the office staff and was immediately notified that they had to cancel my appointment. The office staff said that I could see a nurse practitioner but would have to wait an hour and a half. I could not believe this but eventually Dr. Gau saw me as originally scheduled. Just had my annual check up with Jennifer Li, she's just as amazing as Dr. Rose and as always super friendly and knowledgeable. They offer the best medical advices by informing and educating us if we should have any questions. As well as some of their amazing staff members Azi and Kristen! Azi and everyone has a friendly smile and personality, and that makes the appointments more pleasing. If you need an annual check up, it's easier to find an appointment with Jennifer, as Dr. Rose is usually very busy. However I've been seen by both Dr. Rose and Jennifer during both of my pregnancies and never had any issues. If anything they are very honest and transparent. Which is one of the most important aspects I seek in finding a great doctor and how their practice operates. I love my OBGYN's office! So I've been hesitant to write this review but I feel it may help other first time moms and people in general to speak up for themselves and to not let their providers bully them. A bit of context before I begin, From my first ultrasound i was told that I needed to loose weight (145lbs) because I was a geriatric pregnancy and at risk of pre-eclampsia if I didn't loose weight. I also had placenta previa for the 1st 3 months of my pregnancy and was on strict bedrest due to it. Additionally I am also anemic (later found out i have Beta Thalassemia trait). I saw the doctor the first few months of my pregnancy and then started seeing the NP who was extremely rude to me and used scared tactics. She was also very careless and inconsiderate. I came in and told her I had trouble walking and breathing and she had me do a stress test by walking back and forth in the hall. She then proceeded to touch my chest and say well.... "You are breathing hard" No sh#! ... Im pregnant one and thats why i came in... she then proceeded to give me a referral...Im sorry talk to me give me the possibilities of what this could be most likely just pregnancy...but none of that just heres a referral and that its....so cold In regards to my anima, it became obviously severe during my pregnancy, but I not to the point where I needed to have blood transfusions. Well, I wasnt the best at taking my iron pills, so when reviewing my chart, the NP thought it'd be a good idea to scare me into to seeing a specialist. She told me that if I didnt see the specialist I would have a seizure on the delivery table and possibly die....I was done at that point.... I took my 32 wk pregnant self to another OBG who I absolutely LOVED and took great care of me and my baby after delivery.... My son is now 3 years old but the stamp this experience has left on me will last a lifetime. read more

I am beyond disappointed in this practice. I have had the worst experience with the office staff in trying to schedule appointments. First of all, I have had multiple irregular paps in the last few years. I had issues scheduling my annual check-up in 2022 in trying to schedule and getting canceled on and trying to reschedule and getting canceled on. When I finally got an appt in 2022, I booked out a year in advance for my 2023 appt. That appointment was then canceled. Made a new appointment, and it was just canceled. I would think that someone with multiple questionable results from paps would be somewhat of a priority, but clearly not. The office staff was rude and annoyed when I kept calling to reschedule. Definitely reconsider if this is a doctor you want to stick with. When pregnant, it was fine, but after that, they really don't care about scheduling you, regardless of whether you are an at-risk patient or not. So frustrated with this business! read more

I've been meaning to write this review for some time now - in summary, if you're looking for an incredible OBGYN who genuinely goes above and beyond, schedule an apt with Dr Gau. I gave birth two weeks ago and couldn't imagine any other doctor guiding me through the process or being there for my husband and I on the day of delivery. Dr Gau is empathetic, relatable, extremely knowledgeable and a doctor I genuinely look forward to visiting. I understand as a new patient however they then start bombarding me with text messages and emails that they canceled my appointment. No one even called me just kept telling me to call them and then when I did call they try and schedule me now for March. read more

I had high hopes for this place because of the reviews. Making the appointment the receptionist seemed incompetent. My assumption was right as she misspelled my entire name even after giving her my ID. My billing that I received from them also had a wrong name. Regardless the visit itself was below par. Took 10 minutes in total for the visit with Dr. Gau. She was not that welcoming and when I asked her about my concerns and why I was there she gave no information in which I was not aware of. I was charged $362 for the visit which my insurance covered most but it sucks for those who aren't covered and receiving this service. I was going to change my provider closer to my house but I'd rather endure the drive to St Joseph's than to visit here again. The only saving grace was my nurse practitioner who seemed to know more than the doctor and had better social skills. I do not recommend. read more

Horrible bedside manner. Saw her three times and each time was worse than the last. First visit - she tried shaming me for not getting the covid vax while I was just a couple weeks pregnant and responded with "the pandemic isn't going away because people won't get vaccinated". (Time sure did prove how horribly wrong that statement was. Yikes!) Upon my second visit where we did our first ultrasound and my husband came with. As first time parents who were very excited for this appointment he started asking a few questions, 'will we hear the heartbeat? Can you tell if it's twins?' Stuff like that. The nurse (nurse practitioner maybe?) was so curt and rude with her "I'll answer your questions at the end" response that it just sucked the joy out of the room. Last visit my husband asked Dr. Rose what circumcision technique she uses. Her response, and a direct quote, was "the technique I use is removing the foreskin, unless you want to do it yourself." What?? So rude. Such an odd response. No I don't want to do it myself. I want to know if you remove it right then or if it's a clamp technique or some other technique we hadn't heard of so we can make an informed decision. I wanted to share my experience that will shock everyone. First, I saw the NP who was attentive and caring. I've been experiencing excruciating pain after my appendectomy. She stated, "we will figure it out but will start with an ultrasound." After having an ultrasound the results showed that this was for a gynecologist to take care of. I saw Dr. Rose and the moment she walked into my room she was so upset to see me. Asking me why I was there and not at the surgeons. She stated "it's right there where your appendix was removed right there!" I couldn't believe she would talk to us this way. I told her I don't know where it is. How am I supposed to know that. I was sobbing telling her I need help that's why I'm here. I told her I felt the results of my ultrasound shows that I should be seen by her. She did an exam and stated " I could feel it you need to see him!" After the examination it aggravated the pain even more. She had no compassion. Because I had an appendectomy in January and been having pain that became worse she stated,"no you need to be there not here." I asked her "are you sure the results aren't for you?" She stated, "no I will call the surgeons office to see you." Her expression and how she was handling her eyeglasses putting them on and off while she was shouting and my husband and I. I never expected this from her, never. I felt she practically kicked us out of her office. When I opened the office door to leave the manager Nicole was right in front of me and she ignored me in my face. She looked away. She was always nice and friendly. I couldn't believe how I was feeling. I'm in excruciating pain and being treated so bad. It was so painful physically and mentally. I'm still in pain due to how I was treated by Dr. Rose. I saw my surgeon he felt that the results do not show anything he could take care of but he stated, "Dr. Rose called him to take care of." I underwent a painful procedure which showed no complications after appendectomy. This is for Dr. Rose to take care of. He took pictures inside my abdomen to show her I needed to go back to see her. I had an unnecessary painful procedure where I ended up in the ER hours later. This is an unbelievable experience I had to endure. At this time, I'm still recovering but the worse thing is that I never had anything resolved. read more

About 2.5 months into my pregnancy I called to see if I could make an appt for a last minute ultrasound because I had a lot of bleeding and was worried I was having a miscarriage. I've had the best experience at Rose Women's Health. Both Dr. Rose and Dr. Gau are well-trained and empathetic doctors. If you come here for antenatal services, you will see both of them alternately so that they both get to know you before whoever is on call delivers your baby. I want to highlight my experience with Dr. Gau because she happens to be the first provider I saw and also the one to deliver my baby. My first visit to the office was very pleasant; Dr. Gau did my ultrasound and pregnancy confirmation, and she was so excited to show me my baby. All the staff also showed a lot of care and joy, even though I'm sure this is something they encounter many times a day, they still made me feel special. My subsequent visits with each doctor were also very pleasant, and they always addressed my questions and concerns. When it came time for my delivery, Dr. Gau orchestrated everything so well that birth was much easier than I expected. I also recovered quickly and only took a few days of ibuprofen for pain. Having her deliver my baby gave me a lot of confidence and courage when the moment came. The office itself is also always so clean and welcoming, and the staff are professional and friendly.I couldn't be happier that I came to this office for my antenatal care. I will highly recommend Rose Women's Health to any pregnant mothers. read more

My experience at this doctor's office was nothing short of a disappointment. Despite making an appointment six months in advance and after confirming my insurance coverage beforehand, they denied my insurance when I arrived at my appointment. The sheer incompetence and lack of organization left me utterly frustrated. Waiting for so long, only to be turned away, is unacceptable. I wasted 6 months time wait for an appointment only to be turned away. I will be spreading the word about their unprofessionalism. Avoid this doctor's office if you want professional service. read more

Terrible terrible terrible admin staff. I called months in advance and reconfirmed twice that they took my insurance and I was, "in-network." Both times I was told yes. They also, "double checked" and days before my appointment I get emailed a form saying that my insurance is, "out of network" and the cost responsibility. How so inconsiderate to wait days before when it took months to get this appointment and now I most likely wont be able to be seen this year for my annual thanks to the poor trained admin staff. Terrible facility! If your staff is this poorly trained, I can only imagine what that says for the doctors there. read more

(Per my wife..) The service here is great. The drs are very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend! The biggest complaint is the new receptionist. She is not very nice or approachable. She doesn't seem to know how to do her job.. does not make appointments, forgets to follow through (or doesn't know how) to email needed documents. I hope she learns, and also learns how to be a nicer person, considering she's the first person people talk to upon arriving and before leaving. But... if you can look past that.. because really she's not the reason anyone would be going to this office, it would be the medical care, then this place is a great option! read more

Normally, I do not write many reviews. but for this, I thought to share my exp. about billing. We (me and my wife) visited them few weeks ago and they did some checkup ( whatever required) and then after 2 weeks when the result came they called us to handover my wife reports to us and said everything looks good, you need to visit us after 2-3 months. we came home and now last week or so I received I bill and by looking at it I was surprised. 1- the charges were high even though there was insurance deductible. 2- we have been charged for 2nd visit also where we just handed us, our reports and prescription, that's it. I have never seen that at any place where they charge you for handing over report and prescription, when I compliment about this they told this is how our procedure is, we charge for every visit. My point is I am not happy with their un-necessary billings and high cost. so if you are looking for fair pricing, kindly do not consider going there. Thanks read more

OBGyN had to call any other doctor to do C-section instead of herself. It was strange to know the OBGyN was an 'assistant' on the surgery, as told to us by a nurse. The nurses did not have confidence in the OBGyN. read more
