Great doctor, gave me all the test I wanted and even more. She would call me and explain everything on certain results. This office is very nice and I dont know what is up with all the negative comments, the front office can get busy but they are respectful and informative and they answer all their calls which I can never get a hold of my primary doctor or other specialist and I usually can get in within a week! This is a long overdue review. Dr Leung has been my OBGYN for over ten years. She has helped me with my health highs and lows and has always been very straightforward and honest with me. I know for some, it can feel a bit abrasive, but I truly appreciate that quality about her. When I finally became pregnant after years of infertility, she did everything to make sure my baby and I were healthy. We have built such a great rapport over the years that I fully trusted her when she made the call for an emergency c-section during my labor which literally saved my baby's life. I am so, so grateful to have her as my obgyn. To touch on her office staff- yes, they can be difficult. Yes, you really have to be your own advocate. 0 STARS I have now gained the courage to write this review about Dr. Leung. Even writing it now makes me anxious. A while back, I went to see Dr. Leung because I found out I was pregnant. Like many have stated, they make you wait in the waiting area for a long time. Anyways, I ended up having a miscarriage. Dr. Leung did a D&C on me. Right when I got out of surgery, I was in the recovery area and she came to see me. She told me that I bled so much and this was the second time she has ever seen that. Don't forget, I am still trying to come out of the anesthesia while she is telling me this. She could have waited to tell me this when I was feeling a little better. I should have listened to my gut instinct about her that time, but I was vulnerable and scared. A few years went by and I was pregnant again. This time I was very anxious because of having a miscarriage before. Went to see Dr. Leung again. My pregnancy looked fine until my second follow up visit and found out there was no heartbeat again. I was devastated and so scared. I was scared because I didn't want to bleed a lot if I had to have another D&C. I told Dr. Leung that I was scared and having anxiety about it, and this is what she told me. "If you are so scared, why don't you go jogging so it can come out." Who in their right mind wants to go jogging knowing that that you are miscarrying let alone go through the trauma of seeing it come out??? I was so appalled and disgusted from her response. So insensitive and unprofessional. That response from her was my sign to never see her again. I found a high risk amazing dr. who was a blessing to me. I finally got pregnant for the 3rd time and my dr gave me progesterone at the beginning of my pregnancy and I was able to carry my son full term. I now have 2 healthy boys. I will never forget my experience that I had with Dr. Leung. Till this day, her negative words have stayed with me and caused me so much fear and anxiety. Her bedside manner is awful and she has no compassion. Stay far away from her. If you are looking for a Dr who cares about you and who truly listens to you, she is not that Dr. I hope my review helps someone and makes you think twice about seeing Dr. Leung. Never did I imagine that having an insurance change in early pregnancy would be such a nightmare. Today, this office relieved so much anxiety for me. I can't wait to meet Dr. Leung in a few weeks! My husband and I changed insurance on 1/1/22 from Kaiser HMO to United Healthcare PPO. I turned 13 weeks on 1/3/22 and have had such a chill pregnancy so far. All parental bloodwork at Kaiser, ultrasound, and genetic ultrasound all came out normal and baby was measuring on time at both appts. I probably called 30+ places this week and was told the doctors weren't taking new OB patients or wouldn't take me because I was too far along ... even after I'd shared how chill my pregnancy has been. Not only was this place able to accommodate my scheduling needs by getting me in at the end of January on the exact date I had been scheduled to be seen with Kaiser, but the receptionist actually called me back and was SO nice! I called right after opening and their scheduling system was down. She stuck to her word and called me back in the afternoon and got everything booked for me. She she was so sweet on the phone. I can't thank her enough for answering my prayers and easing so much anxiety I've felt being 13 weeks pregnant with no OB! Will update my review in a few weeks after my first appt here! read more

Dr. Leung has been a fine doctor, and I believed her. I was a patient for a long time. Due to something Dr. Leung found, I scheduled to have a procedure with her. A few weeks later, they told me that they don't take my insurance anymore that they had to re-schedule. I re-arranged myself with it. Then, they called and moved me again. So, I re-arranged myself with it again. Then, they called and moved me again!!!! So, I re-re-arranged myself. At that time, I was making sure that the date will be sure. The staff told me the date will be sure. Then, guess what, they called me again to move me again!!!!!!! I have another procedure scheduled, and this booking is not going to move like this. I had to move the other procedure first since Dr. Leung's office moved me. The other procedure will never move. It's booked, and it's booked!! I understand the time frame may change or possibly the day change, but not 3 times!!!!! This time, the staff said the date will be concrete. But she said the same thing for the last time. I wasted a month doing this. I could have gone to another doctor, but since I have this long relationship with Dr. Leung, that I wanted to go with her. When, they called me for the first time, they even asked me if I want this procedure. (????) If the doctor says something may be going on, don't you want to check it? I'm so disappointed with this. Those stars are pretty much for the doctor. Firstly, you have to pay to park. I already think that is criminal, but for a doctor visit is doubly so. However, it is a sad reality as a Pasadena resident, and she is the only female doctor in my HMO group, so I'm stuck. Secondly, I don't know why they bother with appointments. I am always waiting, at minimum, half an hour after my appointment. At that point, seriously, why bother? The staff always appear to be doing the work of 3 people, I'm just not sure what. Be advised, do not bring your children with you. There are signs everywhere telling you not to, but also the rooms are very small (large enough to fit a table with you on it, a chair, a stool for the doctor in front of the table, and a small sink and cabinet under it). The doctor is great; personable but direct, and for an annual exam is quick but thorough. She also does IUD insertions in office and does rotations at Huntington Hospital. read more

She is kind, empathetic, and truly takes the time to answer all of my questions to give me peace of mind. I also want to give kudos to Nurse Esther and Roxanna who have gone to extra lengths to accommodate me with scheduling and give advice. I have been a patient of Dr Leung for over 18 years. She is a good doctor, she delivered my daughter and I have been coming to her since. Her office staff is so rude and unprofessional. Every time I call her office they answer with an attitude and not friendly at all. Today I was on hold for almost 20 minutes and when she finally answered she said she couldn't hear me. I hung up and called again, no apology or anything. They changed address and so I was only asking for new location. This is not the first time I get bad customer service and unfriendly service. I am in my fifth month of pregnancy and have been seeing Dr. Leung since the beginning. If this review was based solely on my interaction with her, I would be giving 5 stars. However, her front desk staff is extremely rude and I have considered going elsewhere because they have been disrespectful and unhelpful. On July 1, I had a change in my insurance and have struggled to see Dr. Leung. With my change in insurance, multiple reps from my insurance and group told me I did not require prior authorization to see an OBGYN while pregnant. Dr. Leung's front desk staff, Nadine, insisted I could not be seen without a referral and when I asked for help sorting out my issue she refused to help. I ended up having to cash pay for my visit, despite having insurance. Dr. Leung later voided the charge but I am still being told I will need authorization to return. It is has been a nightmare trying to get care as a pregnant woman in the middle of my pregnancy. This should not be acceptable. I have looked into the issue myself, as I myself work in healthcare and found the following information on CA.gov, which confirms what my insurance company has been saying. I share this post in hopes that Dr. Leung's office will reconsider their policy to allow timely access to pregnancy services. read more

Dr. Leung has been fine in the past as my OBGYN. Been with her for a couple of years. Her staff on the other hand is incredibly incompetent. The front desk almost always has their phone turned off- even during the so-called "office hours" listed on their outgoing message. The message directs you to a website that does NOT exist (see picture attached- it always says that AND it's spelled out the way the office phone outgoing message spells it out). AND the voice mailbox is ALWAYS full. I finally had to call the exchange and in full transparency let them know it was NOT an emergency but that I needed to order medical records and asked how do I do that if I can't reach them. The exchange admitted that other callers experience the same exact thing when calling for this doctor and offered to take a message for them. I asked if the doctor was out of business- the exchange assured me that the doctor is aware of the issues that callers are experiencing. This leads me to believe that the doctor does NOT care. So as a "doctor" I guess I could say she's fine but as a medical professional overseeing a staff, it's clear she doesn't care. And it's extremely clear that her staff doesn't care. So that leaves us at one star. I left the message with the exchange, but am not holding my breath I will ever hear back. I wish I knew how to leave a one star rating with a medical board of some sort. I mean, look at the other low star reviews this doctor gets. Clearly there's a problem. read more

Staff were patient and nice, but generally seem understaffed. Dr Leung's English was hard to understand, and she speaks fast and loud. I felt like I was talking to a police officer investigating me, not a doctor who seems to care about her patients. She wanted a biopsy, but no nurse assisted her during the procedure. She seems unorganized with tools doing all by herself. Instead of helping me relaxed during the procedure she kept saying aloud I was too tight, almost sounding like scolding me. Sure enough the result came back not sufficient and she said I need to do it again and this time she will put me to sleep. I would never feel comfortable with her performing something on me while I'm under anesthesia - that's how uncomfortable she made me feel. I'm changing to another obgyn. Also this is one of the stingy doctors who make you pay for everything even to get a copy of the blood exam. read more

This has been the worst experience ever! It's really too bad since I chose specifically Dr Leung because 11 years ago she delivered my first son and I had no problems with her or the office. That is NOT the case this time around. It's very unfortunate. I started my pregnancy with Kaiser and all was going well. I had the opportunity to switch insurance carrier at 25 weeks due to employment renewal. And that's when I decided to go back to Dr Leung. Mainly because I wanted a personable doctor to deliver my baby and not a random Kaiser Doctor. So I chose to change my insurance and go with Dr Leung. All based off my precious experience with her 11 years ago. Well that was the biggest mistake! Her office this time around is definitely RUDE. That is the truth! All the reviews here saying that is true! This office has also been an insurance nightmare for me! Stressing me out at 37 weeks when I do not need stress... all due to insurance. They expect my full deductible to be paid in full prior to my delivery which is in just a few days. They said it's just in case my insurance doesn't cover certain procedures. When I spoke to my insurance they don't understand why this is happening since all the claims so far are being covered at 100%. All expect 2 which the office submitted with the wrong codes and that falls under the physicians responsibility Not the patient. So they cannot charge me for that. Now that I called them to tell them that they have to resubmit those claims properly they said they need to look further and call me back. So here I was making payments to this office to go towards my deductible only to find out none of it is actually going towards my deductible! It's just for them to keep. This makes me wonder, are they double dipping? Charging me AND getting paid by the insurance! That is bad business! It's no wonder Dr Leung says she can't cover her overhead. Her office employees have no idea what they are doing! Then I have medical forms needed to be submitted to the state to get my disability. Well I gave this information all to the office lady who takes care of this, 3 weeks ago now! The signs in the office clearly say to allow 5 days to get these submitted. Well now, it's been 3 weeks! I have reminded her twice before and each time she says she will get to it now. Well I called today and turns out she has been "extremely busy this last month" seriously?!?!? Why tell me she will submitted 2 weeks ago and here we are now 3 weeks have gone by and now it got over looked because she has been busy?!? Isn't her job submitting medical Forms to insurance? I don't get it? I asked if it will be submitted today.... she said she will Try to get to it. TRY?!?! Seriously?!?!? Then How about I say oh I can't pay you guys today because I'm busy trying to get her to submit my disability forms?!?!? So now here I am not getting my disability payments because they have not submitted my forms after almost a month now AND on top of that they are expecting me to pay a deductible ahead of time!!!! Al I can say is I REALLY wished I would have stayed with Kaiser!!! I would have saved myself so much stress in this last 2 months of pregnancy when my baby definitely does not need this level of stress!. No you do not to pay ahead of time, insurance reassured me of this. I paid $500 ahead of time and once they got insurance payment they were supposed to refund me... they did not. They doubled dipped and took my money and full insurance payment. Shame on them! I have called several times to collect my money with no luck and no one to help! read more

Dr Leung have been very nice so far and updated me with my results. She left me a voicemail and instructed me to swing by her office to pick up my additional blood test request. I went there today and the receptionist gave me so much attitude telling me I should've called so I can set up an appointment. I don't need an appointment, I just needed to pick up my request as what Dr Leung said. I really wanted to give her a piece of my mind but I just left instead cause it's not even worth it. These people need to have an additional training when it comes to dealing with their patients. So disappointing! read more

Although I am grateful that Dr.Leung helped me to deliver a healthy baby, the overall experience has been awful mainly due to her staff. Roxanne is the nurse who is in charge of paperwork and any EDD/ employer related documents. Not only does she have the most condescending tone no matter how polite and nice you try to be, she has not submitted any of my paperwork correctly. She mistakenly submitted my leave for 20 days post c-sections inst 56 days, then when Dr.Leung gave me a one week extension, she signed off the date to be one week earlier than my original return to work date. She pays no attention to your questions and will tell you that she is busy and can't get her work done because they're short staffed and she has a lot on her plate as if that is your responsibility. I respect Dr.Leung and know that she absolutely knows what she is doing. However, she does not enjoy working with her patients and she will make that very clear. She is not a flexible doctor and the office is not either. During the end of my pregnancy, I was told to come in once a week for my NST but only given one option (Monday at 8:00am) because they didn't have enough rooms to accommodate and kept emphasizing that they're doing me a favor by letting me do my NST in their office. Clearly their office size is too small to accommodate a service like this but it puts a lot of stress on the patient especially if they have a full time job and kids. Although it's not her job to be sympathetic towards her patients, she does not care about your postpartum depression and has made it very clear to me that it is not her problem. She will spend more time talking and complaining to you about how stressful her job is rather than asking you questions about how you're doing. I am thankful that my baby was delivered healthy but I do feel that there was a lot of unnecessary stress that was added on to my pregnancy due to all of the above. My experience started off great: I went to Dr. Leung to discuss long-term birth control. The office staff asked if i minded seeing the other doctor and since I had never met either of them, I told them it was fine. The other Dr (whose name I wish I could remember!) was fantastic!!! We discussed my options and both thought Nexplanon (the arm implant) would be the best choice for me. Fantastic! I was told that the office just needed to check with my insurance and they would call to schedule my appointment. Weeks go by and I don't hear anything. They finally called telling bg me I have to sign a consent form for the device before they can order it. Ok, send it over! More weeks go by. I emailed to let them know that i checked with my insurance and it's 100% covered. They tell me they'll check on this. More weeks go by and I finally get a call to schedule my appt for insertion bc the device had arrived at their office for me. "so call us when you're menstruating." I asked if I could make the appt now for when I would be. She rudely said "well if you think it's that predictable, then sure." I'm on the pill. It is. They gave me a Tuesday appt and I asked if there was any other day that week and they said no. Guess it was a good thing i didn't wait to make the appt then! It only got worse when I got to the office and they were completely unprepared and it was difficult to get a straight answer. They made me go across the street to purchase my own bandage because they didn't have one. Dr. Leung rudely kept telling me I should get an IUD instead because of my age (?! Huh?). Then she kept complaining that she couldn't tell where to put it bc I have tattoos on my arm. Just an awful, awful experience all-around and I will NEVER go back to that office. read more

I was admitted to Huntington Hospital after my water broke and unfortunately Dr.Leung was the OBGYN that was on rotation under my insurance at the time. After being admitted, I was sent to an area where they basically prep you and get you wired up so that they can monitor you and the baby. Shortly after, Dr.Leung came in and checked my cervix but it was extremely aggressive and painful which resulted in blood gushing down my legs once I stood up to go to the restroom shortly after, along with what I believe were the remnants of my ruptured sac. I didn't enjoy her impatient I-know-everything type of tone/attitude either. I had such a pleasant experience with all the other nurses, doctors, and staff members during my 27hr labor and delivery that made up for that brief care I received under Dr.Leung. I'm just really thankful that she was not present to deliver my baby. read more

Dr. Leung is a great doctor who is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. Dr. Leung's pap smear and exam were the least painful/ most comfortable I've experienced. I'm glad I finally found a doctor who doesn't make me dread annual OBGYN visits! She took the time to clearly explain when I had questions. When addressing my concerns, she provided me with options/ her recommendations and was not pushy, which I liked. Within a week, I got a call with test results. Her office staff are all friendly and professional, from making appointments to communication and paperwork. I received a reminder call the day before my appointment. The reception area was set up for social distancing, hand sanitizer was available, and the receptionist wiped down the clipboard before giving me paperwork to fill out. My appointment was actually on time, which was very helpful and refreshing, compared to other doctors' consistently 1+ hour long waits I've experienced. I read some reviews that her staff are rude, which I don't agree with. I think maybe because they talk quickly and quietly, it throws people off. I just asked them to repeat what they said if I couldn't hear or understand, so it wasn't an issue for me. I would rather they work efficiently to accommodate all the patients, than make everyone wait longer. 10/10 awesome OBGYN doctor! This is the only doctor in my health group who listened to my concerns and took me seriously. She didn't question me and actually suggested more tests that may be beneficial to me. Dr. Leung is kind and took the time to call me after the results were in. I am surprised that Dr. Leung does not have a higher rating. Dr. Leung and staff were wonderful throughout my first pregnancy. I loved Dr. Leung's sincere care and time to explain everything to my husband and I as this was our first pregnancy; her humor also helped make visits much more relaxed. She always took her time to answer any questions we had during our visits. We loved the fact that Dr. Leung was always very informed and gave us straight forward answers and facts to our questions. We were never made to feel as though we were uninformed or had a dumb question. An extra bonus of visiting Dr. Leung is that at every visit for the first two trimesters she will always give you a print out of the ultrasound to check on your bundle of love! I know from friends that this does not happen and we were very fortunate to have a print out from the visits. The office staff is friendly and kind so I'm not sure what the reviews are about their attitudes because we never had any issues with anyone there in person or over the phone. The ladies were always more than helpful when accommodating appointments for my work schedule (I could only have afternoon visits) even when I had to make last minute changes. We loved our visits with Dr. Leung and staff and are so happy we chose her as our OB to deliver our baby girl. Do yourself a favor and ignore the old awful reviews for Dr. Leung, none of them are true. You'll love the care you receive for yourself and your little one. read more

Run, FAST. My first sign to run should have been my first encounter with the front desk staff. They aren't very knowledgeable unfortunately and can be very rude at times. I had to call my doctors office on my first appointment in order to be seen as their office did not have the right paperwork. My issue with this is, how was I able to schedule an appointment weeks in advance and no one noticed my referral needed to be fixed in order to be seen? No one noticed until I arrived for my appointment time and they told me I didn't have the right referral and I couldn't be seen. The doctor is condescending. I have never been so uncomfortable with a doctor before. I dreaded coming here knowing I'd have to deal with the rude staff and then condescending doctor. Not worth the headache, especially if you're pregnant. Find another office that cares and actually has staff that is approachable. And most importantly an office who cares about you and doesn't only see you as a $ sign. read more

I rarely give one stars, but let me just tell you about this terrible experience. I made the appointment on Zocdoc.com (great website!) and was looking forward to seeing her with the high reviews. The appointment was rescheduled the next day to an earlier time without my consultation. That's fine. I'm a flexible person. I showed up 10 minutes early to the appointment only to find the door locked. When I knocked, an assistant opened the door and informed me rudely that the appointment had been cancelled because the doctor was on vacation. When I asked if I could reschedule one on the spot, she informed me to call back later. I know it's administrative appreciation day, but come on. Really? What is your core role? This is ridiculous. Wonderful. Amazing. Gentle. Attentive. Compassionate doctor. Following a painful autoimmune work up, I needed /need serious medical help. Dr. Leung went beyond the normal call of duty, as she has always done to help me. Vasovagal reactions are a terrifying side effect caused by internal carotid artery aneurysm problems. Since my first post-neurosurgery pap, I have turned blue, become ill, and sometimes stopped breathing during an exam or medical procedure. (Sorry doctors, dentists and practitioners!) Dr. Leung, who is aware of my past hospitalizations, makes special arrangements and takes special precautions to keep me safe from harm and hospital. TIA, another side effect of ICA disease, can be effected by hormones like estrogen and progesterone. My progesterone-inspired TIA episodes led to the discovery of my aneurysms. Dr. Leung, who is willing to talk complicated neuroscience with my neurologist to keep me episode-free is a lifesaver to me. Her waiting room smells like pine trees and Christmas candy in December. Her walls are covered in photographs of beautiful newborn babies and lucky mother's arms. I stare at useful female anatomy diagrams while waiting for a few minutes to be seen. Dr. Leung is all smiles as always. Her smile is exchanged for concern as she talks me through a reparitive procedure and forbids me from leaving without rest. If I were planning a family, she would bring mine into the world. I hope to have her in my life to provide me with beautiful pictures someday. +crosses fingers+ If like me, you need help with post-procedure trauma requring cutting-edge neuroscience techniques Dr. Leung will take great care of you. I would give this OBGYN 0 starts if it was possible. Although Dr. Leung was very much helpful, I would say otherwise for her front staff. I truly believe that some people do not belong in the healthcare profession. The front desk receptionist who's name is Roxanne had nothing to offer except a condescending attitude. Perhaps if she was not sitting all day being absolutely miserable she could learn to use a copy/fax machine or something useful. I would never recommend this office to anyone. I raised this issue to the nurse who took me in and was told that I was not the first person to raise concern about the front desk attitude. Perhaps if you are receiving so many complaints, it is time to let go of someone who is supposed to make patients feel welcomed when already under a lot of stress. read more

I've been wanting to update my review here for quite some time, but I wanted to wait until I completed my last procedure so I could report fully. Dr. Leung is amazing. As you can see from my last review, I've been a patient here for the last 3+ years now. I've always been able to get appointments for my annuals in a timely manner, my ovarian cyst issue was resolved, and most recently, Dr. Leung and her staff helped me with my first pregnancy. I was living in Brazil when I found out I was pregnant. I decided to come back home to the US for the pregnancy and delivery. I passed through LA on my way to the east coast where I would be from Thanksgiving through Christmas - I only had a two day layover, and the staff here squeezed me in so I could have my first pre-natal appointment, despite them being very busy the week of a major holiday. It would be another 6 weeks until I was able to move back into my house (which I was renting out) and living back full time in LA, so I really appreciated them seeing me. While staying on the East Coast, the office answered my questions in a timely manner. Once back in LA, the service from the staff and Dr. Leung was amazing, and I couldn't have asked for anything else. Throughout the pregnancy, my blood pressure was elevated. Dr. Leung kept an eye on it, but also was strict with me which I appreciated. She had me monitor my blood pressure at home daily, watch my salt intake, etc. Yes, she is my doctor, but my health is also my responsibility, so she made sure I had the information to take charge of that. As the pregnancy progressed, we also saw that my baby was measuring ahead of schedule. For example, at week 28, he was measuring at week 32. She ran all of the appropriate tests to make sure he was healthy despite his size. As D-Day approached, we had to have a very real conversation about the risks of giving birth vaginally to a big baby. At week 37, the ultrasound machine was showing he was already about 9 lbs, with three weeks still to go (at least)! We were made aware that ultrasounds are not accurate of course. She gave us all of the information we needed to measure the pros and cons of having a scheduled C-Section as opposed to trying to deliver him vaginally. Like most couples, my husband and I imagined ourselves laboring for hours in the hospital before triumphantly pushing a baby out. A C-Section changes all of that of course. But because of the testing that Dr. Leung did, and because she sent us to another doctor for a more accurate ultrasound, we knew that both the safety of myself and the baby were #1 - more important than living out any weird birth fantasy that could have ended in an emergency C-Section anyway. At the end of the day, WE TRUSTED HER. The day of the surgery was calm and stress free. I was definitely nervous going into it, but she made me feel calm. She delivered our healthy 9.6lb, 22" baby successfully and quickly had me closed up and in the recovery room. Looking at him now as only a few days old, I could not imagine waiting to go into labor in another TWO WEEKS and try to pass him vaginally. He'd easily be 10+ lbs. She absolutely made the right call. Plus, the surgery site is quickly healing up! As I recovered in the hospital, she checked in on me every day. When hospital staff was being a little dramatic about our baby being "too" sleepy, she was a realistic breathe of fresh air and reassured us he was fine. And he is. As for the office staff, they were very patient with me. There were several times where I called in the morning and said things like, "I was in the hospital yesterday, and i have to see Dr. Leung today." They'd always find a way to get me in. They answered all of my questions, and they took care of my husband and I. Again, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. read more

To all that are leaving the bad reviews about the staff and their attitudes, Do you think that maybe you caused the rudeness? Have you been snappy and rude and don't like it when it gets thrown back at you. These poor girls are only human too. This world is understaffed and overwhelmed right now, so try some compassion and patients. I had the unfortunate luck to be treated by Dr. Leung at Huntington Hospital after having a miscarriage few years ago. I was only 4 weeks along but it was my first pregnancy so I was so scared and devastated. At that time, according to Dr. Leung it was unclear if I had ectopic pregnancy because the ultrasound showed I had a cyst near my ovary or what could be the ectopic pregnancy. She was very fast to suggest surgery to remove my ovary and fallopian tube. Mind you I am otherwise an active, healthy, young woman. I told her I knew I had cyst and asked if I could just wait for bleeding to stop. I Asked her if she could reassess my ultrasound and labs after more hours, she then tried to scared me by telling me that I could bleed out or get infection. My husband and I, asked to stay one more day in the hospital see if bleeding stopped. The next morning bleeding was almost none and labs were improving. Dr. Leung then came to tell us that I had to be discharged if I was not getting surgery and that I was leaving at my own risk. I mean I don't understand, the pressure of surgery, even after I Told Her that I had no more pain and almost no bleeding. Her tone, her dismissive attitude were all triggering. My husband was shocked and annoyed, we just wanted to get out. We were traumatized by her harassment in such vulnerable time. I came back to review because I hope nobody gets unnecessary surgery from this doctor. read more

I was not planning on writing a review, but I am 20 weeks postpartum now and as I reflect on my pregnancy and birth journey, the hardest part of my pregnancy was how I was treated at this office. I am convinced that confidence and a good rapport with your OBGYN and their staff is extremely important. I saw Dr. Leung for for first 35 weeks of pregnancy before I decided to change to a different doctor. And deciding to leave Dr. Leung was the best and kindest thing I did for myself and my family. Below is why I decided not to have Dr. Leung deliver my baby - I'd had a miscarriage a year prior, so I felt extremely nervous going into this pregnancy. Dr. Leung is certainly not the warm and fuzzy type, but I thought that her years of experience would help me to trust her. Here is a summary of my experience: 1. Her office staff was almost always unkind to me. I had a challenging pregnancy with catching the flu, placenta previa and 2 UTI's (one that resulted in hospitalization), and when I needed documentation for my work, her staff were less than accommodating. They never smiled at me when I signed in for my appointments. And one of them was so rude to me that I cried when I left the office. Pregnancy can be such a vulnerable and challenging time in a woman's life - especially after having a miscarriage. Being treated with kindness makes a huge difference. After I changed OB's, my new doctor's office staff was ALWAYS kind to me, and it seriously made a huge difference to be able to leave my appointments with a smile on my face. 2. Every appointment felt like I was meeting Dr. Leung again for the first time. She never seemed to remember what we had discussed at our last appointment. Even after I had been hospitalized with a UTI, she didn't remember that I'd been in the hospital. I'd complained about pain a week before ending up in the hospital and she brushed me off. My husband tried to advocate for me by asking questions about the pain I was having, and she made him feel stupid by telling him that as a man he won't understand. I'm not making this up. I believe if she had just bothered to listen to me, she would have caught the UTI and I wouldn't have gone through the terrifying experience of hospitalization and thinking I was losing my baby. 3. She made me feel like I was doing something wrong because my baby was big. I told her at every appointment that by husband is 6'1", and my father is 6'4", and that big babies run in my family. And still, every time she measured by baby or saw how big my stomach was, she sighed in irritation and told me I was going to need a c-section. I left every appointment feeling horrible. I did NOT have gestational diabetes and I was not eating poorly, and yet she still treated me like I was doing something wrong that was causing my baby to be big. When he was born, he was LONG and lean. His size was purely genetic. And I felt even more angry that I'd allowed her to make me doubt myself and feel so awful for pretty much my entire pregnancy. My decision to change my OBGYN at 35 weeks was the best decision I made during my entire pregnancy. My positive experience with my new OBGYN only confirmed that. If you are looking to have a positive and uplifting experience, I do not recommend Dr. Leung. Their yelp reviews cited poor office staff dynamics and Dr. Leung being unkind, and I decided to give them a chance anyway. One would think that these reviews would prompt them to do better, but that isn't the case. As a new mama, I advise all women to do themselves a favor and find an OBGYN that will be good to them with office staff that treats them with kindness and dignity. Pregnancy can be hard enough - don't make it harder by settling for care that is less than you deserve. read more
