    Black bean enchiladas

Dos Agaves was a very welcome surprise on our way out of the national park. It's an unassuming building from the outside. On the inside, it's a clean and nicely decorated restaurant. Our waitress quickly brought us warm tortilla chips and salsa. The salsa was really good. It had substance to it and enough heat to make you keep dipping. The food was very good. Our party of 4 ordered enchiladas, burritos, and a chili relleno. Everyone was pleased with their meal. I would recommend Dos Agaves to friends and would happily stop in if we are ever in the area again.

After a day full of long hikes you can work out an appetite. This Southern California girl was pleasantly surprised to find this Mexican restaurant. The place is a gem. Really authentic Mexican flavors. Not only were the flavors popping but everything was cooked perfectly without over drying either the rice, or the meats, which were seasoned to perfection. Even the beans taste home made. Not only are the flavors on point and tastes like grandma cook them, but the portions look like you just visited grandma and she herself serve the plates. Really generous servings. The margarita and the chips and salsa were a nice addition while we waited. Bathroom was cleaned which is always a plus.

The menu was limited due to a kitchen fire. However, the food was amazing and friendly staff. Would recommend!

They were serving tables, clearing tables, dusting, just any activity besides seating us. We asked what the wait was going to be and they said "hold on." Meanwhile, they only had about 3 tables going and there were tons where they could have sat us. We finally got a table, but no service or even water for 30 min. I ordered a hibiscus marg and it was okay. I don't think it had alcohol in it. My friend got peach sangria, which ended up basically being Sunny D with grenadine. Her glass was cracked, so we asked if we could get a new one. Like 20 min later, we asked the server if her new drink was coming and he said no. He then gaslit us into thinking we broke the glass and would need to replace it. So weird. The food was fine. Very average. They aren't very flexible with substitutions and aren't aware of allergens. I got poblano shrimp and the sauce was watery and the beans tasted like lard. They forgot two of our dishes and got things really confused. When the bill came, we asked to see it because we were worried they would charge us for the meal they never brought out or the glass shard sangria. They said no LOL. We said we weren't comfortable paying without reviewing the items on the bill, and they had one of our group go behind the counter to look at it on the computer. Very odd. They really didn't know how to work their POS. We sat at a table next to a huge overflowing box of wires and cords. The whole aesthetic was really off, the servers were rude and unhelpful, and the food was like an even lower quality azteca/ixtapa. Not surprising for the location, but def not worth a stop.

Delicious food, wonderful service, and homey atmosphere…read more *Dear Yelp, here are a few more sentences to meet your new "85 characters"requirement & for the people who enjoy reading reviews rather than getting outside & experiencing what this world has to offer. Remember what life was like before yelp? We just went places 'cause they looked cool, tried restaurants 'cause they looked nice or someone recommended it... but now, most of us go on Yelp. Why? To read novel length reviews from wannabe journalists? NO WAY! Most of us just want to look at the menu before hand, check out the prices, & know if we'll get food poisoning or not. Either way, you read this long rant, thanks, I hope I made you laugh :)

Monroe, Washington, April 2026…read more This colorful building is located on the main street in downtown Monroe. The minute you walk in you are greeted immediately. An older gentleman and a younger guy were quick to tell us we could sit wherever we wanted as it was a Sunday evening. Booths line the wall and there are about four tables in the middle of the restaurant. Very small, but very colorful and extremely friendly staff. We were quickly asked for a drink order and they brought chips and salsa. The chips were a perfect thin yet crunchy texture. The salsa was very flavorful. It had chunks of onions and lots of cilantro. However, I wish the salsa was spicier. We both ordered chicken and beef enchiladas à la crema. The presentation was nice and I'm so glad there was no lettuce decorating my plate. My whole beans came in a little tortilla cup but the rice lacked flavor. It taste more like a puréed risotto. The enchiladas were covered in the cream sauce that also had cheese. There was no flavor to the cream sauce and the chicken was extremely dry. I liked the flavor of the whole beans. They don't give you a full basket of chips when you sit down. So we asked for more as they were delicious. But then we received only a quarter of a basket this second time. They don't post prices of the soda or the drinks. When we inquired to see a bar menu, they said they had none that we could order anything we want. We asked the price of a particular drink and he said don't worry. When I receive my bill, my non alcoholic bottle of Heineken was $7.25. I think that is outrageous for a nonalcoholic beer. I will give this place three stars because the chicken was tough and dry. The cream sauce was boring and the salsa needs spice.

The first time my wife and I came in, we shared the fajitas and they were absolutely incredible. Everything was full of flavor, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Their homemade beans alone are worth talking about -- seriously some of the best I've had. We came back again today and I tried the enchiladas with the creamy poblano sauce... and wow. Hands down the best enchiladas I've ever had. That sauce was rich, flavorful, and something I'll definitely be coming back for. On top of the amazing food, the customer service has been top notch both times. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and really makes the experience even better. And I can't forget the real fruit coconut margarita -- absolutely to die for! Fresh, beautiful, and just as good as it looks. This place is officially one of our favorites. One of the front desk staff recommended El Molcajete Mexican Grill, about a 5 minute easy drive away. Parking is right out front and there is plenty of it. Handicapped too, with no stairs or steps to get in or out. Nice, clean, welcoming and I LOVED the carved Mexican diningroom chairs with the hand painted agave plants. The artwork on the walls was mighty impressive too. Very pleasant. It was not crowded the night we went and it felt like a local, "regulars" crowd. Older, with lots of experience with the giant Margaritas served. I think there was at least one at every table. Husband tried the CAMARONES A LA DIABLA ($23): grilled shrimp with hot red sauce. Served with lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, onions, rice, beans, avocado slices and tortillas. It was HUGE. The plate it was served on reminded me of the turn-table plate from a microwave oven! I tried the TACOS DE CAMARON ($23): grilled shrimp folded in three corn tortillas drenched with red sauce. Served with lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, rice, beans and avocado slices. I actually would have just ordered the regular street tacos if I had known mine was going to be drenched in red sauce. Both meals were tasty but neither of us could finish the huge portions. Staff is friendly & efficient. Food arrived very quickly too. There are two TVs on the wall, both tuned to some sporting event. I believe the sound was off as I also heard Mexican music quietly playing in the background. Nice place if this is your vibe for Mexican food (aka Tex-Mex). You won't leave hungry or unhappy, especially if you have a giant Margarita!

It was clean, but it feels like sitting in a fishbowl. Service was fast, and the margaritas were huge and very strong, which almost felt like a strategy to help you enjoy the experience more. Unfortunately, the food didn't deliver. The salsa was very bland with no kick, and the chips were barely better than bagged. One bite of the enchiladas made it seem the sauce was from a can. While the ingredients were all fresh and everything was plated and prepared nicely, it all lacked flavor. The fajitas were the same, very sweet, lacking flavor and underwhelming. Almost tasted like teriyaki sauce. It's disappointing to go out and get a meal that's worse than something you could quickly make at home. If you're coming from Poulsbo, Los Cazadores, or El Huarache are much better options.
