Enchiladas with both the mole and the poblano sauce

Rarely do I get excited after leaving a place, because I know I'm gonna be back! And that is exactly what happened! Elena the amazing server served up some of the best food I've ever eaten in this area! authentic Mexican food! In an incredible setting, the ambience was perfect. I had an amazing meal and I can't wait to come back and bring my friends! When I get some!

Stopped at COA Mexican Eatery on our way back from Canada -- and it was such a win. The sangria was refreshing and perfectly balanced. We tried the burritos and enchiladas -- both packed with flavor, and their vegetarian options really impressed. The spicy salsas brought the heat just right, but the real standout was the mole sauce. Rich, complex, and absolutely to die for. If you're into bold flavors and great veg-friendly Mexican food, COA is definitely worth a stop.

This is my favorite Mexican eatery in the Mount Vernon area. They have top-notch food and service, a very comfortable atmosphere, and they offer tequila pairings with many of their dishes. Their tequila collection is extensive, and if you're a newbie to this particular libation, this is a great place to come and get some advice to try some things to see what you like. They also offer great cocktail drinks featuring tequila and Mezcal among others. Any chance I get to eat here I'm going to take the short detour off of I five so I can have some top-notch food.

Half and half sauce on the three enchiladas with a side of rice and beans!

We went to this place for my promotional celebration. I love the way that they have very authentic Mexican food, not just your run of the mill options. The servers were fantastic, the bartender even brought us our drinks and asked us how our night was going. It was a pretty busy night, but I didn't feel like the staff was rushing around at all, just a very chill place to go to if you can't get in!

The Mocajete is fabulous, comes sizzling in a large black cauldron pot and smoking, so appetizing. What a fun item and tasty too! Food came out so fast House margarita is great. $10. Came with a dehydrated citrus which was so good, crispy and sweet. Just perfect

It's been a hot minute since I visited COA. In fact, the last time I was there they were still in their old location up on the hill. They're now closer to town, on Riverside near College Way. The restaurant is larger, and the decor is on point. Walking inside to enjoy some lunch on a lazy weekend, my daughter and I loved their festive decor and light, bright atmosphere. We were seated quickly, and our server arrived to bring us some drinks. I ordered a negra modelo because, well, Saturday. Everything on the menu sounded good, but the molcajete was calling our name. At $39 for two people, it even felt like a good deal (though maybe a bit extravagant for lunch). It soon arrived in the signature "volcanic rock" bowl that this dish is known for. The contents, a rich stew made of different kinds of meat, was still bubbling it was so hot. The top was adorned with strips of grilled cactus and some seriously jumbo shrimp. It also came with fresh tortillas and a plate of beans, rice, and all the fixins. This was so delicious! My only regret was there was no possible way we could finish it. Luckily, they had takeout containers at the ready, so it made a good breakfast the next day. This would definitely feed at least 3 people. Maybe even 4! I'm glad COA is back on my radar, and I look forward to returning soon.

It's a good chips and salsa! Love it.

The three of us came to COA for lunch after a long time. The interior of the restaurant felt better than before. Our server is a good service. We ordered Chile Relleno, Los Tacos and Three Cheese Quesadilla. After that, they brought me warm chips and salsa. This was so delicious and I couldn't stop eating it. I tasted three dishes. The most delicious one was Chile Relleno, the second was three cheeses Quesadilla and the third was Los Tacos. I just realized that if you look at the menu, Chile Relleno is Mount Vernon Farmers Market Winner 2014. There was also a group of children celebrating their birthday in the restaurant, which seemed to be fun. When you are near here, stop by here and try some delicious Mexican food.

Stopped here for dinner after a day hiking in the Cascades -- an excellent choice. COA won "best Mexican restaurant in Skagit's best contest" in October 2022. COA is well-decorated with a fun vibe -- not cheap Mexican -- and is family-friendly. Attentive table service and elevated Mexican cuisine are made with fresh, local ingredients whenever possible. The large menu and diverse drink selection impress, and the restaurant's name honors the "coa," the tool used to harvest agave for tequila. Complimentary chips and salsa (5/5) were fresh and flavorful. I ordered the chicken tinga ENCHILADAS made with corn tortillas, topped with greens and pickled onions, served with rice and beans -- both poblano crema and mole sauces were excellent (5/5). My son enjoyed the CARNE ASADA (4/5), while my husband found the carne STREET BURRITO tasty but the meat a bit tough (3/5). Our server, Zitlali, was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and efficient. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Oh, the mole! Soooo good! Layers of flavors spicy and a little sweet. Tastes like someone's grandmother made it. Wow. The fish tacos were also great. Not fried, you could really taste and enjoy the fish. Not your ordinary beans, white beans, tasted cooked from dried. This place is the real deal. Wish we had a Mexican place this goid in Bellevue!

The entrance is delightfully well-done, and our faces lit up when we walked into the bar - intricately detailed and authentic enough that a '20s dress code could be reasonably enforced. We were seated immediately, and the cadence of service was immaculate: our appetizer came out just after our drinks, and the entrees appeared as we were taking the last bites of the appetizer. But I wasn't thrilled with my selections. The Rum Punch was served at room temperature and the jalapeño popper chicken sandwich was drier than the description suggested. My partner got the Jalisco Fizz, which she says paired well with the mushroom pasta, and really enjoyed the salmon deviled eggs. At $11-14, the drinks are priced well, but the food is overpriced. The jalapeño chicken sandwich was not a $23 sandwich, and a tempting lobster/shrimp roll was listed at $35. Overall Speakeasy Saloon is worth making an evening of. Dress up and sip on whiskey drinks in the low light with loved ones.

Our waitress was timely and very friendly. Very informative on any menu questions we had. Our food was very good! I had the carnivore plate, and my girlfriend had the bruschetta. Both were very good! This is the second place I've been to recently that has had carnivore options on their menu. Their drink menu is very extensive, they have a great tap list, and a great mocktail list. The only reason they are getting a 4 instead of a 5 is that they were out of several of the ingredients to make their mocktails they had listed on their menu and we went their specifically for the mocktail menu because my girlfriend can not have alcohol at this time. Great place, great food, and great service though.

The place was full during happy hour, which was ending shortly after my arrival, so I quickly ordered a Manny's (no happy hour pricing for craft beers, sadly), and their happy hour spicy Asian shrimp. The beer arrived cold and, soon, those beautiful, sizzling hot shrimp were sitting before me. It was the perfect appy to tide me over until dinner later, and just the right blend of crunchy and spicy. Highly recommend! Soon my friend arrived and we caught up on old times while she enjoyed a glass of chardonnay and I had another Manny's. I did look over their dinner menu, but the prices felt a little high (as with most places nowadays). Judging by how good those happy hour shrimp were, though, I can definitely see myself trying some of their other food when I return. Oh, by the way, the service was awesome and super friendly. We sat at the bar and were well taken care of.
