RUDE!!! Food not good. I called in a to go order and ordered 2 cheese quesadillas for each of my kids, one was missing. No big deal! My husband went in. He came back and they said that they combined the two kids orders into one box. No big deal. I opened the box and there are two tiny pieces of tortillas and cheese (no where near enough for a small 5 year old kid). I went back in and told them. The girl at the front said, "I was the one that took your call. I told you how big the quesadillas were, what's the problem?!" I told her that I would like another one. She charged me full price even though I didn't want another side that comes with it. She went behind the counter and when her co-worker asked her what happened she said, "I don't know what her problem is". I couldn't believe it. When she handed it to me, I said thank you, she said "Yeah" flipantly and literally walked away. I walked away knowing I had been kind...maybe she was having a bad day. Got in the car and handed out the food. No one in the family liked it. The was not worth this hassle or treatment. Ended up paying $56 for 3 quesadillas, a burrito, and the WORST customer service. We just had the most delicious meal here. The place is always clean and comfortable. Staff is so welcoming. I had the special tonight. It was enchiladas suizas. So good!! They made it with a freshly grilled chicken, and the tomatillo sauce had some kind of chili in it that really delivered a great kick. It really was like something you would get at a great Mexican cook's home. Fantastic. My daughter had the grilled shrimp in garlic and she raved about how fresh and tasty they were. The waitress greeted us with enthusiasm and a great big smile. Helped me make my final choices for my order. The guests across from us were celebrating a birthday. Everyone was having a great time. Lots of laughter and cutting up happening. The food delivered hot and very tasty. I felt like part of the family even being my very first time there. Arroz con Pollo, best thing on the menu. I have eaten a variety of dishes from their menu and I will order order Arroz con Pollo weekly if my pocket book could afford it! The veggies aren't over cooked ans still have a little crunch and their rice just brings it all together in the perfect dish. The service always varies, but it's usually good and quick. The food was edible but next to fast takeout it was some of the worst either myself or the Mrs has experienced in a long time. Service was decent. Ambiance was well, you had to walk through a low budget casino to enter it and the outside patio was a few tables with umbrellas on the parking lot. Nice place. We were hesitant because of the "star status" but the reviews were good so we decided to give it a shot. Really good food. Fabulous complimentary pico de gallo. The chicken quesadilla was very good. Rice and refried bean's extremely plentiful. The veggie quesadilla was great. Crisp veggies and not greasy at all. First time here, chewed a piece of hard black rubber that was in my beef burrito and was only asked if I wanted another one. No apologies, at all. The food here was descent and the pricing was very reasonable. I had a taco salad and everyone else in my party had burritos the size of their heads. However, the chips and salsa were excellent. We were waiting for Tesla chargers to free up which is in the same parking lot. Now because it's a small town and there was a solar eclipse, someone made a queue with a number system and everything. And when I mean someone, the man looked like a project manager and was literally some guy that was also waiting for the chargers too so we had lots of time to eat, use the restrooms (in the casino in the same building- very clean) and let the dog relieve himself. The camarones mojo de ajo were so good in the past. Was in town for Thanksgiving and wanted to try the Korean restaurant but they were closed so came to dos amigos. I ordered it to go. First off, I forgot that the casino there smells like literal ass. It's like the sewer line has a vent into that casino then you have stale cigarette smoke. It travels into the restaurant because there are no doors separating it. And you have to walk through the casino to get to the restaurant. The food was mediocre. The shrimp were so cooked into oblivion, they were jerky. So while the flavor was there, there was no juicy-ness or snap to the shrimp. The shrimp were so bad we didn't even finish them. A first for me here. My dad said the last time he went in an ate the food has gone way downhill too. Unfortunately this is taken off my "must visit" when going to see my parents. We went to Dos Amigos in Winnemucca as a party of four. For two of us, the food was the worst Mexican food we have ever had in a restaurant. The taco and tostada used shells that looked like they came out of an Ortega package, or from a Taco Bell kitchen. The sauce on the enchilada had strange cinnamon overtones. The broth for the chicken tortilla soup had very little flavor. Only El Macho Gordo Burrito was any good, and raised the rating from zero stars to one star. It was truly a gordo, and I would order it again, but I could not recommend ANYTHING else. Service was friendly, although not terribly efficient, but the place was pretty busy and our server may have been overwhelmed. There *must* be better places to eat in Winnemucca. read more

Decided to dine in at this restaurant as it was right next door to the hotel we were staying at. The restaurant was pretty full on the night we arrived. We didn't have any wait time and were promptly seated. The server was attentive at the beginning but then became less observant after the entrées arrived. Often times our drinks sat empty and our napkins were all used up. For dinner we ordered the Pork Tamale, Shredded Beef and Chicken Tacos and the Beef Fajitas. The tamale was cold and dry. The Tacos had good flavor but the shells tasted as if they were from a fast food restaurant. The Fajitas were very over cooked and lacked flavor. The portion size was a very good value for the money but overshadowed by the overdoneness and lack of quality in the food. I might give this restaurant another try but the quality of food and service is going to need to improve to earn my business again. read more

I was stuck in Winnemucca for work and ventured here because th IHG hotel was the only thing with vacancy. This place is attached to a casino that smells so awful of cig smoke I've just veered the other direction when I stay at the hotel on other occasions I was pleasantly pleased with the bean dip and salsa, outdoor seating, and giant micheladas. The garlic shrimp aka camarones al ajo de mojo was served grilled and usually its got a sauce with it [ at most places ]. It was still cooked great and flavorful. Not impressed with the refried beans and rice with frozen veggies in it. But was edible. Loved the outdoor seating and sunset views. read more

The last time I came here, I thought this was just your average Mexican restaurant serving all the usual things, like tacos, enchiladas and burritos along with that basket of chips. But I come to find out, that on Sunday's, they serve up a wonderful Mexican food buffet for $14.99 including drinks and dessert. I was staying right next door at the Holiday Inn Express and was able to just walk right in from the hotel lobby. Go thru the big doors opposite the front desk. This Mexican restaurant is inside a small casino, just a little smoky, but the restaurant is fine. Arriving on Sunday around 1:00pm, the buffet is served till 3pm and starts I think around 11:00, we were seated right away in a nice booth. I wanted to check out the food first before I committed as I'd never been to a Mexican buffet before. I love buffets, not so much that you can so totally stuff yourself, but you get to try a lot bigger variety of foods than if you were just with 1 other or by yourself. If this was gonna be just the usual Mexican American rice and beans and tortilla wrapped meat and cheese, I'd of passed. The food is set up in the bar area, which seems about the same size as the dining area. Booths are in the bar area too. There was a ton of food out, everything from the usual, enchiladas, green chili verde, tacos, tostadas along with rice and beans. What impressed me was they also had, Mexican style BBQ ribs, fried butterflied shrimp and chicken wings and even real sizzling hot plate beef fajitas. There were also some real authentic Mexican foods I didn't recognize and some I did, like the Meneudo and Pizole soup. Interestingly, there was fried chicken with french fries as well as what I think was Mexican style chicken fried steak and gravy. After seeing all this, hell yeah we're doing the buffet! Non Alcoholic drinks are included, and to my surprise, when I ordered a Coke, I was brought a real Mexican Coke in a glass bottle, cool! Up at the buffet is see drinks too, Horchata and a Cantaloupe melon fruit drink, all house made. Serving Horchata, a blended rice, sugar and cinnamon drink, I can tell this was for the real Mexican people as were many of the food items. Funny, the regular menu is served too at the same time, and the many Mexican families were all doing the buffet and the non-Mexicans were all ordering off the regular menu ... hey you get a free basket of chips! Just an observation. I don't speak Spanish, but I was sure loving the ribs at this buffet, and the Horchata was really tasty! We must have gone up 3 times, filling our plates with tasty ribs, chicken, BBQ beef meat, even Linguini al fredo pasta! We were too stuffed to even do dessert! The food was all tasty and there wasn't anything too weird, though I didn't try the Menudo. Service was super friendly and no communication problems at all. Now I just wish this restaurant was closer to where I live! If I'm ever out here in Winnemucca again, and I probably will be, I'm definitely planning on a Sunday visit here! If it's close to closing time, don't bother! I generally do my best to avoid dining within 1 hr of closing but, didn't have options & being attached to a hotel & casino, I didn't think it'd close so early. I'll back up and talk about my first visit.... Service was good. They were a little busy. I went with combo fajitas, cheese dip, and a margarita. Nothing exciting to report but, I'd order the fajitas, again. No complaints on my first visit. My second visit was less than desirable. The service was still good but, she was doing her side work to get out and part of me gets that. The food was not! I ordered a combo, and everything on the plate was Luke warm, at best. I asked to have it reheated, and thanks to the open kitchen, into the microwave it went. Nope! Mexican dishes are generally place in a convection style oven to get that hot & melt just right.... At that point, it didn't matter. Guess it's back to Texas where I'm always satisfied with great service and great food! read more

Service: Kinda a rush get you in and out. Super pushy!!!! Seating: booths and tables. Food oh god the food. Let's see where to start. Fajitas: super over cooked and chewy. Taco's: Hard shells are the store bought stale kind. Soft taco's are soggy. Tamales: Nothing but Masa and no meat. Super dry. Enchiladas: microwave, tortilla wrap around cheese Salsa: decent Pinto beans: decent Roasted jalapeños : decent (wish they were spicy ) OMG and the quesadilla: Absolutely microwave homemade. Horrible Drinks were decent. (I only had beer) If given a choice I would pass on eating here but with being connected to my hotel I kept trying different items and was disappointed completely. I was at the hotel for 8 days. I promise there is no bashing or ill will. I'm just being honest. Grab a hot dog at the casino bar. Better menu and cheaper. Better service also. read more

She barely dealt with me, and all the employees we're by the kitchen laughing and messing around. I barely got any service. I contacted the management by email, and they promised to address it. We decided to stay the night at the Holiday Inn Express next door to Dos Amigos. It was so nice to have a convenient restaurant to sit and have dinner. Our waitress Monica was so sweet and attentive. Great waitress Monica. The food was very good. We each had a combo meal, me one item and hubs had two. I had the shredded meat taco and it was delicious. Hubs had the chili releno and shredded meat encillada. All of the food was good and reasonably priced. The only suggestion I would give is the cup of beans served with the chips and salsa should be mixed. It was unattractive watery beans. Good flavor but looked strange and didn't stick to the chips. read more

We had to stay in winnemmuca because our car broke down, and this was single handedly the saving grace of our whole experience here. The food was phenomenal, the drinks were delicious and the service was exceptional. Our server gave us great suggestions. We had the shrimp fajita and it was incredible. The shrimp and mushroom appetizer was so ridiculously good we ordered a second one. I will make a stop here every time I drive through winnemucca. read more
