Confession. I was here last night and the young lady mentioned about their menudo. As a self taught cook in all things authentic I know what goes into making a good menudo. I told her that I will be back to try it and it didn't disappoint. It was full of flavor. The ingredients were all there and the lime,cilantro,onion and chili were all good as well. The style of the restaurant caught me a little off guard but in a good way. It's good Mexican food like you would expect but the menu had Asian food like sushi on it which made my wife happy. She had a carne asada burrito and it was great and she says the sushi was pretty goo. I don't do sushi so I have no opinion. We've been coming here for years, and in general the food is pretty good, though it has been slipping in terms of quality since Covid. This review is more about the attitude and value for money of the place. The staff regards customers with indifference, to put it charitably. Additionally, the menus don't say what is included in or on dishes, and everything is an additional charge, such as guacamole or sour cream. I don't actually mind paying, but if you pay five bucks for a large side of guac to split with the table, and they bring the equivalent of a half of one avocado spread thinly on a 3 inch tiny plate, that feels like chiseling. Ditto if you pay two bucks for an ounce of sour cream in the shot sized container that everywhere else gives for free. Ditto for being charged extra for a to go box. To top it off, they don't itemize the bill, so even though the math ain't mathin', there's no way to know. Rice and beans are the cheapest things you can make, yet they dole them out like they're precious. I could go on, but as I said at the start, the food is reasonably good...but all told the experience ends up being unpleasant due to issues like the above. Everything about this place was great, the food... have been here on multiple occasions and every single item I've ordered has been delicious. From the Enchiladas Suizas to the Mariscos everything was very fresh,hot, and made to order! The Tacos de Camaron are so good I've been known to place two orders and one to go. They have ice cold drinks and they serve complimentary chips and salsa ,not to mention they come with frijolitos too. I make it a point to dine in as often as I can. My husband orders tacos from here pretty regularly. It is his favorite tacos in town. Yesterday I had the opportunity to try their tacos. They are delicious. The food here is awesome. I'm not sure how they get such tasty and fresh fish and shrimp to this part of the country miles away from the coast or any big city! The shrimp aguachile, ceviche tostadas, and fish tacos are all fresh and tasty. Super authentic!! It could've been 5 stars for me but I knocked a star off because they were not up front at all about the price changes. There is a small printout on each table that's easily missed that says that the prices in the menu may not be correct and have rose due to inflation. It's understandable but there was no warning for any of the items and when we asked for a small cup of salsa for the chips, we found out that that cost $3 per cup. The shrimp aguachile says $14.95 on the menu for a small but we were charged $19.95 (the price of the large) and some other items increased as well. It would help if they were just a little more up front about the price changes so that it avoids an awkwardness when the bill comes. read more

Winnemucca was our last stop on our way home from vacation. We setup our RV and then looked for a place to eat. We wanted somewhere close to the rv park and this place got good reviews. The food was DELICIOUS and I highly recommend. I had the green enchiladas with spicy pork and my husband had carne asada. I'm a picky eater and I ate everything!! We've been coming here for about 10 years and it used to be very, very good. Now it's decent but not great - unless perhaps you're a fan of the seafood and appreciate a good tilapia. My Chile relleno was over cooked, limp, watery and no taste. Eva's veggie burrito tortilla seemed to have been microwaved to a plastic, uncuttable wrap. The Barbacoa had good texture but also pretty tasteless. Even the tortilla chips seems thick and a little burnt. A quick stop into Winnemucca and found this little gem of a place. True authentic Mexican food. I had the full grilled tilapia tacos in their homemade grilled tortillas. Almost like fish quesadillas. First time here and it was kinda late in the evening. The staff were very welcoming and super friendly. All the tables and surrounding areas were dirty with food and sticky when we arrived. The food was decent but bland and the margaritas were definitely not very good. Mom ordered the margarita and nachos grande with beef. The margarita didn't taste like it had any alcohol and the beef was shredded beef or what seemed like roast beef on it. It didn't taste horrible. Dad ordered the strawberry margarita and the chimichanga. Again it was not the norm as it came out with lettuce and tomato on top with a little shredded cheese. Dad says none of the salsa was spicy enough. Both kids got nachos and a red cheese enchilada. Na how's we're very bond but good with chips/cheese/beans. The enchilada seemed off and tasted more like a tomato sauce than an enchilada sauce. All in all I'd eat here again but definitely have lower expectations. read more

They were great about letting us order and insisted that we take our time and the food was amazing. We had the chili Verde and it was like the best Verde sauce I think I've ever experienced.
