I had an awesome experience coming here, I haven't been to the dentist in a while and I'm usually nervous but not today, if anything I came out happy and glad I went. Leo was an awesome assist, he's so positive and brings a light to this place. Also to mention he did great work with the x-rays and it didn't hurt at all (when Ive went to other dentists they made it hurt like hell), also he's so attentive when it comes to working on the teeth. And the dentist himself was very cool and made me feel at ease during the whole process. I was a patient here for a very long time. I was last seen in November of 2023 for a regular cleaning. Was not aware my regular hygienist was out. Which I would have postponed my appointment knowing she was gone. But the reason for the review is I was made aware that I needed a filling for a cavity on a tooth. They wanted to do it right away same day which has never been an issue. But the way I was being told just didn't seem right. So I got a second opinion. X-rays and examination with a Dr. I was told that I did not have any cavities and that my teeth were in good condition. So after the Dr did the examination I had mentioned the specific tooth that I was told that needed a filling. He said there was nothing there. So I called dos Lagos dental after and asked what was going to be done at the appointment and they mentioned a filling and cleaning. I went ahead then to explain that I did not have a filling so I needed an explanation of why I needed it. They told me it was on the top of tooth where x ray would not show. The new dentist even took pictures of the inside of my mouth to show me that nothing was there. So thankfully I got a second opinion so that I didn't get unnecessary work. Perhaps you guys will start taking pictures to show the clients. As I have lost 100 percent trust in getting work done. read more

Our long-term family dentist retired two years ago. Before coming to Dos Lagos Dental, I tried two other practices with multiple issues too long to explain. I have found my new long-term dental practice in Dos Lagos Dental. The work needing to be performed was explained in detail and the insurance coverage gone over. I needed two crowns, three fillings, and a deep cleaning. The quality of care and work done by the dentist and hygienist over a four week period was excellent. Jossie has been my hygienist the last couple of times. She has always been very thorough. I must admit this last time my cleaning took a lot less time than normal. She said that there was less bleeding this time. I usually have gum issues due to plaque build up and gum recession. They are all very knowledgeable and caring. Dr. Nguyen is always very good, and makes me feel comfortable. This last appointment she replaced a missing filling. The shot of anesthetic is my least favorite part. This office looks for money first not care of your patients. It was during lunch hours, and the clinic was empty. The receptionist asked me to wait for ten minutes, which I did patiently, I understand. After getting my X-rays done, I sat in the chair and waited some time more. Then the dentist came in without introducing herself. She started poking my gums with something sharp hardly! I was confused. Why was she poking so hard?not care about the feeling of patients! Fine, I tolerated it. After about five minutes of this, she finally said I needed a deep cleaning. I was full of questions--what's that? she responded with, "You'll need anesthesia; " she didn't bother explaining what deep cleaning was or how it differed from a regular cleaning, then just disappeared.(just got prices information from another dentist, normally deep cleaning will cost between $1500-$3000 while regular cleaning is about $150-$300, see how much the difference your dentist will get between these two options. Most of time you don't need to get such painful treatment) A assistant came in to explain that after the anesthesia, I wouldn't be able to eat for three hours. I was speechless--it was 11 a.m., meaning I couldn't have lunch! But i brush three times a day and has healthy teeth, why was this so complicated and requiring anesthesia? So, I immediately told them that since this was just a recommendation, I would prefer a regular cleaning, as I had work in the afternoon and couldn't do a deep cleaning. To my surprise, the dental assistant said, "No, we can't do that. You might need to go to another clinic!" Wasn't it just a suggestion, not a must? I immediately left. Honestly, i don't think it is code of conduct not to provide option to patient meaning patients always needs to follow what doc said is otherwise, reject the service! why is healthcare being treated like a business these days? It's so frustrating! I went my old clinic today and got just regular cleaning as before, no surprise. I checked the price for deep cleanning which may cost over $2000 -3000 plus very painful during this process for what! therefore I wanted to share this experience to remind everyone that not just follow without thinking because a doctor recommends something, you still need to make your own judgment. Don't put your body through unnecessary procedures/risks/painful feelings if you don't need to. Sometimes, a second opinion from another doctor can be entirely different. So it's essential to trust your own judgment when it comes to medical decisions. Such a disappointing and terrible experience! And also for some dentists who wants to earn more money. The more you want to make money from your patients, the more you will loss of your patients. There are more than 35000 dental clinics in California. God bless you! read more

This dental office has always been great (been a patient for 2+ years) -- warm, welcoming, and full of competent people -- and their approach during COVID has been likewise great. You are protected by standard COVID protocol (protective face coverings, distancing, hand sanitizer all over) as well as temperature checks and in-building air purifiers. They are also terribly kind to late-to-the-game teeth cleaners like myself (put off a cleaning for many moons bc of the pandemic and not a single dental professional shamed me). Wanted to give a special shout-out to my dental hygienist, Anne, for an especially excellent, relaxed cleaning. She's gifted at putting you at ease and is great conversation. I was so disappointed with my experience at Dos Lagos Dental. The services I received were fine, but dealing with the office staff and billing side was beyond frustrating. At my second appointment, they said they had overcharged me at the first visit and that I had a credit. I settled my balance and left only to receive a bill in the mail weeks later for $100 with no explanation. I went in and they couldn't seem to tell me where the discrepancy was. They email later to say that the original percentages were correct and that they didn't charge me enough the second visit. What? I go back and forth via email to go over the #s on the invoice because they're not matching up to what was outlined on my treatment plan. I eventually pay even though I think it's bad customer service. When I expressed my frustration via email they pretty much ignored it and basically were like ok we'll just charge your card then. Then I receive a final email stating it was because they forgot to charge me the second half of my night guard. The story kept changing. A simple apology for the mistake and acknowledging my frustration would have gone a long way. read more

I am beyond impressed with this place. Let me start off by saying that I have not had actual dental work done in over ten years. Last year, I finally acquired dental insurance and went to a place in Ontario, by my work, to get some X-rays done. They informed me that I had ten cavities and it would take around $1800 dollars to correct everything I had going on. Life got in the way and I never ended up going back. Fast forward to last week, I called Dos Lagos Dental to schedule another X-ray appointment to see what I needed done since it had been over a year. I am so glad that I did! Dr. Moon was so informative, sweet, and very gentle. It also turned out that I only had 5 cavities. I am so happy that I never went through with any of my treatment at the other place. I am extremely afraid of the dentist and have panic attacks when I have to go and usually have white knuckles on the chair but they relax me enough to get the procedures done and I don't endure any pain or discomfort. Any procedures that I need are explained to me are explained and run through the insurance so I know exactly how much I will need to pay. I've been coming here for several years now. The first thing you'll notice is the office is very simple. It's modern, clean, but simple. I always get worried when I enter a fancy dental office because I know someone has to foot the bill for the Picasso on the wall. I've had work done by all 3 dentists who work here, and they're all great. The assistants are also very nice and friendly. However, the number one reason I keep coming back is that I trust them. The other dentists in the area always make me feel like I'm going to die if I don't do what they recommend. For example, the other places kept telling me I would die from the mercury in my silver fillings, and I needed to change them out ASAP. I come here, and they tell me they are happy to change out those fillings, but it would be purely for cosmetic reasons, and the silver fillings were perfectly safe. It's the same for the other work they have recommended for me. No hard sell. If I wanted it done, great. If not, no problem. I would just see them back for my next checkup. I have no qualms in saying this is without a doubt the top rated dentist in all of Corona (although I think this part of the city is now called Temescal Valley?). read more
