We really enjoyed our meal here. They had three different fixed menus. We weren't sure if we wanted the second or third option but we opted for the third (Festival menu) because it had the cauliflower caviar, dry aged beef and turbot fish. It was a lot of food, and the middle menu would probably have been the better option, portion wise. However the turbot fish was amazing and it was part of the festival menu. The dry aged beef was a thin slice of beef, that tasted like Iberian ham, could have done without that, also Festival menu only option. The cauliflower and caviar was OK, but again the three extra dishes were not so amazing that I would do the Festival tasting menu again. The middle menu would have been perfect. Overall we enjoyed our experience. The service was outstanding, one person in our group only spoke English, but the servers were able to explain all the dishes in English, which was nice. The carbona really stood out. It was great! The turbot and squid were probably my favorite dishes. One dish we devoured so fast I didn't even get a photo. We could barely walk out when we left we were so full. It was a lovely experience in Barcelona. I recommend this place.

This place serves food of dreams. I cannot begin to tell you how worth it you will find this meal. It should be your Barcelona special dining experience of choice. We did the medium sized tasting menu and felt like we went on the most amazing culinary journey within those 11 dishes. It was only 80 euros per person for a beautiful tasting menu. The worth was phenomenal. The service was amazing, so thoughtful and paced just right. It's a rather formal high end restaurant with tasteful decorations, and they were still even able to accommodate a booster seat for a toddler in our party. The food though, I could talk to you endlessly about the food. The idea is that they take you through a journey in time, so the dishes progressively become more sophisticated in cooking method. Some of my favorite dishes were the earlier ones. I'm not going to reveal too much to you but the mackerel, figs, and one of the ice creams at the end were my favorite bites in all of Barcelona. Please make reservations to come here. What is also amazing is that there is availability to make reservations a few weeks beforehand or even walk in if you are planning your trip last minute. If you are looking for a unique, delicious, culinary experience, come to Dos Pebrots.

    A feira tuna

My favorite dinner in Barcelona. Fun, tasty and not very expensive. Highlights: the pine-nut omelet, the black onion, and the quail. It is probably easy to be pescatarian here, but hard to be vegetarian. Full detail: We had an early reservation, 7:30ish, because it was the night of Correfoc. Had a big lunch, so only ordered five dishes and desserts. Stayed about two hours, with dishes coming out every 15 min or so. Servers spoke good English and translated menus were clear. Wine was not pricey and there was a good by-the-glass selection. I had a medium-bodied red and she had a gran reserva cava. First was the camaron "dentelle," or tortilla de camarones, which was thinner and more crisp than I thought it would be. Next came the "a feira" tuna, which we ordered with bread, which was different from what I expected -- the description suggested it would be dried and rehydrated with oil, but I'm pretty sure it was just fresh tuna, seared -- which was tasty. Then things got really good. The black onion, its insides coated in an ancient Roman fish sauce called "garum," was a treat. There was an entire toolbox of utensils you could choose from to eat it with. Garum tastes almost like caesar dressing, but simpler. Wish we'd tried dishes with oxigarum and aenogarum, the vinegar and wine-mixed versions! Then came the pine-nut omelet, prepared tableside with narration. I don't want to ruin the surprise, but I'll just say it was a really tasty medley of ingredients. Fine for pescatarians. (I'm vegetarian, but relax my rules when I travel overseas.) Last came the "faraon's (pharaoh's) quails," a well-seasoned bird. It was almost like a tiny, all-dark-meat chicken. Use your hands; they provide wet-naps to clean up. For desert, we had the "mato" and "tocinillo de cielo" (beacon from heaven). The mato was a bit drier than we expected, but not bad, and the tocinillo really hit the spot. Its flavor was uncomplicated, more or less straight sweetness, but it was not quite a custard or anything you've had before; it was unique. The bill was around 60 euros.

Super fresh fruit and vegetables to activate the taste buds

Outstanding. One of the most memorable meals I've had in a long time (not to mention Albert Adriá and his family also sat next to us). The tasting menu had some of the most delicious, well-prepared, creative, and inspiring dishes I've experienced. The courses were timed perfectly, had incredible range from super subtle umami to soul satisfying slow cooked comfort food. Plus, when does one ever get to try pig nipples paired with pork stock? I was afraid at first but the dish was great. Service was fantastic, treated us really well even though we were from out of town. Our two wines were perfectly chosen to cover the two halves of the meal. Highly recommended.

I wish I could give this restaurant a 10 out of 5 because the whole experience was EXCEPTIONAL in every way. From service to ambience to food. The menu was so well curated and truly special in a city where food is already outstanding- this one is just that much better. The food - the chefs are so focused. As you watch them working in the kitchen you can see that they are not only skilled and talented but that they are truly invested in making each dish perfect. It was like watching an artist in action. Each dish was beautiful to look at but the flavours and textures themselves were extraordinary. The service - each dish was presented by the server with a complete explanation of the origin of the dish as well as the ingredients. If you are thinking of going - don't think about it. Just go! This will be the highlight of your dining experiences in Barcelona.

Wow, what a culinary journey. Stumbled upon this place by accident. Such creative and innovative food. I must say is the first time I have had my tastes challenged for a long time and in a good way. Likedit do much, took some friends back there a few days later and had the set menu. Tye the risotto with rose petal tempura.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

We were happy to enter the cozy La Alcoba Azul and seated by a smiling host immediately & presented with menus. The interior looks almost like a wine cellar with brick vaulted ceilings. The offerings are best described as fusion tapas but there are a few traditional bites as well. Our waiter presented us with an amuse bouché of pumpkin hummus topped with roasted pepitas on an herbed toasted baguette crisp. DELICIOUS! We confidently ordered the tomato tartare with avocado cream, basil, olive powder and rosemary olive oil caviar as well as a half order of cured Iberican meats featuring chorizo, loin, sausage and ham, an order of the hummus with black olives, parsley, pine nuts and pita triangles. All were terrific! We especially enjoyed the meats and tomato tartare. I enjoyed a red sangria that was satisfying and happened to be topped with cinnamon...a first and welcome addition for me. La Alcoba Azul is a spot we'll keep on our tapas go to list! You shouldn't hesitate to visit.
