Dosa Place is a hidden gem and the exterior looks humble. The owner was friendly, attentive and introduced their signature dishes to us with patience. The options on the menu were various but they ran out of lots of ingredients when we arrived at a late lunch time. We ended up getting their Cheese Dosa with Masala to share and our favorite Indian donut Gulab Jamun as dessert. The dosa was fried crispy and matched with the flavorful Masala sauce. It was not too spicy so it's perfect for me. The Gulab Jamun was decent but it could've been better if it was served warm.

A decent Dosa place close to Niagara Falls. I come from a South Indian family so I have high standards for dosas (Indian savory crepes). I ordered a paper butter roast dosa. If you are familiar with dosas, you know that paper dosas are these extra thin crispy crepes. The masala (potatoes and peas cooked in Indian spices) came on the side and I also requested spicy powder on the side which I like to mix in with the other accompaniments. Dosa traditionally also comes with Sambar (lentils cooked in a stewy style) which was also provided. I thought the dosa tasted pretty good but they could work a bit on the sambar and masala part. I think it's a good option if you are in the area and are craving some South Indian food. They also gave me a complimentary cup of rasam (spicy soup with Indian spices) which was very nice of them. Honestly, the rasam scored higher in my head than the dosa so if you are just craving something warm and comforting, you know where to go!

Seeking vegetarian food? Or vegan? Dosa Place could be for you. Seeking steak? Chicken? Fish? Dosa Place is not for you. This is a traditional vegetarian Indian restaurant. If it ever had eyes it's not being served here. Almost half of India calls themselves vege. So they have lots of vege options. This is a large space at the end of this plaza nearest to Tops. Far enough away from Tops doors that parking won't be an issue. 10 booths, 6-8 4 tops, 4 2 tops and two larger in the back. Well lit. They ask you to wait to be seated. Presumably because it's busy, which when I was here it was. Mostly with Indians actually, i think that's a good sign. Easy to read takeout menus. I gather this is the same family that had a place on NFB previously. I did not go there so cannot compare. I had a masala dosa. To go. Well wrapped and generous portions, both the filling and the dipping options. This is a spicy dosa but they have much more mild ones too. I really enjoyed mine. I'll be back for another one soon. Maybe with a fellow yelper who likes Indian food.

Have you had a dose of dosa yet? If not try them out! Growing up in India, we had south Indian food quite a lot. Special occasions with a large group of family members always took place at a south Indian restaurant as the food is economical, fast and delicious. South Indian food is quite different from north Indian. It is usually vegetarian, much lighter and spicier than north Indian. Dosa is a large crepe made with a mixture of ground lentils and rice. The batter is allowed to ferment overnight which gives it a slightly tangy, sourdough like taste. It is usually eaten with sambar(a lentil and veggie soup) and coconut chutney. At dosa place they also serve it with a spicy chutney. Ive been to Dosa Place a half a dozen times now and my experience has been mixed. Ive tried several of their dishes. Some things have been really delicious and others just meh. The onion rava dosa(crepe made with semolina) is by far my favorite. I also enjoyed the Mysore masala dosa(regular dosa with a spicy paste spread on the inside.) The paper dosa is ginormous! It is crispier than a regular dosa. The Dosa place special is a good deal, and so is the Thali special. Ive had both and I found the quality of the vadai(fried lentil cakes) and idli(steamed rice cake) not so appealing. They seemed a little tough and stale. The inconsistencies at this restaurant made me deduct some stars. The restaurant is clean except some clutter in the back, going toward the restrooms. I am sure I will return to Dosa Place again, mostly to satisfy my craving for south Indian food. But, now I know what to stick to on the menu.

Best Dosa I've ever had. The sambar is out of this world. Ordered one salted lasso. And fruit salad with ice cream was the cherry on top.

Hi, I am trying to reach the place on phone but looks like the number isn't working. Is it still…

My husband went by yesterday and it is closed and emptied, a shame as we loved the food.

Insomnia hit the morning of our trip and I researched for hours on what to do at the Canadian side. Easy answer, wonder pass and hit all the spots as the thunderstorm was in and out throughout the day. We exhausted all our efforts and ended the day at 7pm. WAZ NEXT??? Dinner time!! Found Inchin's and went directly to it! It's a smell ish shop compared to other inchin's bamboo gardens we have been to throughout California but the restaurant interior was well decorated and waiter ready to please! We are no amateurs when it came to indochinese food as I'm of Chinese descent and my wife and her parents of Indian descent. All of us fresh of the boat 25-30 years ago! This Inchin's might be small but the food and hospitality speaks volumes! Every single dish was spot on and the food came quick. Granted we were the only table on a terrible stormy night midway through severe flood watch, the staff treated us with positivity and enthusiasm. My vegetarian side of the family had the pani puri in shot glasses (phuchka) classic Hakka noodles, kadai paneer, veg biriyani with side of paneer paratha and tandoori rotli. I also enjoy vegetarian food but I couldn't resist getting some wings. The portions are appropriate if not slightly excessive for us Americanized FOBs, and we ordered accordingly as to not have a single left over! Even with years of indochinese AND being fellow Inchin's franchise goer, the pani puri in a shot glass was a great new experience for the whole family! Presentation was top notch, and it gave a new sense of occasion. My wife and I cheered each other like alcoholic shots and felt like teenagers again! These shots were not only stylish, but they were sobering in flavor and crunch! Paneer paratha was unique and tasted like scrambled egg paratha of some sort. It's similar to popular Taiwanese version of scallion pancake with egg! Masala wings where I ordered with specification of less oil came out perfect as did the rest of the meal. As the night went on, we exchanged stories of the past and relatives before heading out into the terribly windy and wet night again. Nothing could have given us a better mental refuge of the outpouring and flashes of lightning than the flood of flavor and hospitality from Little Inchin's on the other side of the Falls. Come in for some mom and pop experience of a lifetime and buckle up for a journey to flavor town. Their payment machine was broken and I couldn't even tip them tonight when I wished to double what was customarily charged for a table of 5+. This review is the least I could do.

The raspberry chutney had so much flavor and went really well with the veggie pakora. It's really unfortunate that I live a good 9.5 hours from Canada, because we left this morning and I already want to go back just to go to Inchin's again.

It was a bit over a 20 minute walk from the touristy area (think Cliffton Hill), it was filled with people, and we felt very safe. We ordered lamb curry, butter chicken, and chicken tikka masala, as well as naan and a lassi mango drink. Everything was delicious! We asked for medium spice and it had a little bit of a kick to it. I learned that my preference should be chicken over lamb because chicken allows the flavors to really shine, while the lamb competes a bit for attention. The naan was exactly what we needed to sop up the sauce, and the rice was absolutely perfect: light and fluffy. In addition to being absolutely delicious, I want to shout out this business for their kindness. A few homeless folks stepped in, asked for a plate, and stepped outside to wait. The gentleman who was at the counter simply nodded. They proceeded to put together a set of to go boxes with food for each person who asked. It was a simple process, not disruptive to anyone eating at the restaurant, and an extremely intentional act of kindness for their community. I hope their business prospers, and they can continue to help those who need it.
