    Where's the calamari? For $18 a ripoff .
    D A.

So we came from SanDiego and the car rental agent recommended this spot. Ordered the calamari and beef on weck and the smoked Gouda pasta . Well first came the Calamari seriously the smallest portion of calamari I've ever been served for that price a complete ripoff. Never had a beef on weck and probably never will again nope not for us. Then there was the smoked cheesy pasta my daughter got that was like $30 . She was struggling to finish it not because there was alot but because she didn't like it. I tried eating it and it just wasn't good. Left like half of it , this place was a fail for us. Worst meal on our trip luckily it got better !

Another recommendation from our hotel. Really good food and plenty of it. Ordered the local, Beef Weck and the Cajun Fish. Neither of us could complain. Lots of food & neither of us finished. Huge portions! We don't drink, but it looked like there was quite the beer selection. Our server was helpful and was quite attentive. Great vibe.

After shopping for deals at the outlet mall, we were hungry and looking for somewhere new to try. The Griffon Gastropub was the winner! Just down the street from the mall, we were seated right away. Interior is on the darker side. Love the tin ceiling. The menu provides a good variety. A few items are on the pricey side. Our server was Allison. She was great! My daughter had the chicken and waffles, my husband had a Griffon burger and I had a salad with mixed greens and grilled chicken. As a starter we had the Mexican street corn dip. The food came out quick and it all was delicious!

Phenomenal mac n cheese We stopped here for lunch. I ordered the mangia steak sandwich and upgraded to gluten free smoked Gouda shells and cheese. I'm sooo happy I made that upgrade because the mac n cheese was incredible. The steak sandwich was ok. I think the dish was overall a little too dry for my liking. I probably wouldn't order it again. My fiancé ordered the OG chicken sandwich and he enjoyed it. We took the caramel apple cheesecake to go. It was alright, a lot more bland than I expected. The apples were still slightly hard and I just don't think it paired well with the cheesecake. I loved that they had a variety of gluten free options. The host was extremely friendly when we walked in. I would come back and get a burger next time!

After returning from a cold walk around Niagara Falls, we decided to check out this establishment per a strangers recommendation. Wow we did not get a chance to have a waterfall view, the food, service, and ambience more than made up for it. Our server was very kind, welcoming, and attractive to our needs. She made great recommendations based on popular items and our food choices. All 3 entrees were phenomenal and exceeded our expectations. The braised sirloins that were cooked medium rare came out tender and had a smokey aroma, not dry at all. The fries and sweet potato fries were crispy, airy and had the perfect amount of sweetness (with sauce on the side!) I'd highly recommend to anyone visiting the falls :)

Very attentive and good service. The drink menu has a lot of options and sizes which is great. We had the waffle chicken and the $2 chicken wing special which were good portions and tasty. This is a bit of a nice surprise beside the outlet mall. The one "issue" I had was the name "pub". I did not want to come because I did not want to drink and normally a lot of "pub food" is so-so. I'm glad my better half insisted to come and we discovered this great lace!

Stopped by on a Friday night and got the Cajun Crunch fish fry that is only served on Fridays. The fish was delicious and was served with Miami Spice fries which also were delicious !!! The meal came with a garlic butter biscuit which was my only disappointment...in my opinion very blah. I do love good bread or rolls with meals and it is not that difficult to provide. I was excited about getting the biscuit but was not impressed at all. Service was good !!!

Steak Tips with charred broccolini, bacon jam and a crema sauce.

23oz beer (Belgian Dubble) and the Steak tips with charred broccolini and bacon jam made for a delicious dinner. Server was fast and friendly, also very attentive. Liked the old school tavern feel, with an upscaled touch. Overall very positive experience, I will be back to try more beers and food!

Potstickers 8/10 Teriyaki chicken. They were okay, I definitely didn't taste any teriyaki flavor inside. The Asian dipping sauce was too spicy for me, and very thick. I would have preferred a regular dumpling sauce. Beef on Weck 9/10 Pretty good. The kimmelweck roll was nice because it wasn't as much salt as some other ones typically have. Fish Fry 8/10 Good haddock, cooked well. The beer batter was good, however, it was like watery and soggy on the inside closest to the fish throughout most of it. Tartar sauce was good, homemade. Pickle coleslaw I did not like. Garlic butter biscuit was okay, similar to red lobster but not as moist. French fries were fantastic.

I wasn't overly impressed with just a couple vegan options, BUT the corn fritters & crispy tofu were amazingly GOOD

We had a incredible time, after having some rough waiters in Canada we came down with our family of 11 and they sat us immediately. The waitress, who had a pony tail and was incredibly sweet to us was excellent. The chicken and waffle was the perfect blend of seasoning and cooking with the maple syrup being incredible. She gave us donuts to go and they were incredible, I would highly recommend.

Getting out of work late (9pm) on a Sunday, I thought I'd try a bar with a varied menu for dinner: I hit the jackpot! I'm sure other Yelpers have posted pictures of the menu; I'll just add my food and atmosphere ones. Although it was crazy busy - every seat, booth, and barstool was taken - the bartenders were friendly and efficient. More than once I saw them remember the drink preferences for the regulars. Top notch service. I chose the duck wings with Asian sauce, and the corn fritters. It's on me, it's my inexperience with the menu, but when they came out together, I thought they looked exactly alike. Both were fried and had a sweet, gummy sauce.

What kid friendly food do they have?

They have a kids menu that includes a cheese burger and chicken fingers. I think also Mac n cheese. They also have a pub menu, so my daughter often gets pizza rolls.

Hello! Do you all take reservations? Thank you

I booked a table through their website. Cheers!

I wanted to try other items, but only 2 types of fish fry and chicken fingers were available. The fingers were like anywhere else. They give you the sauce on the side, not shaken in it. If I had known, I would have ordered extra since I love them saucy. The potato barrels, which are tater tots are amazing! They were crispy and delicious! You can tell they do a lot of fish, since mine also came with bread, coleslaw and tarter sauce. It was ok by me - I didnt want the blue cheese anyways. I was told the beer battered was delicious, but the fries were on the cold side. The cajun fish fry was was lightly battered and a little fishy. The people who ordered to really enjoyed it other than that. They usually get baked, so the batter was a nice change. The coleslaw that came with it was delicious and the bread stick was great! They seem like they do great business since when the order was picked up at 430, the person on the phone was told 630 at the earliest. I'd try it again and hopefully when the whole menu is available.

I got into Canada early, so I decided to go have some lunch. I walked in, and immediately felt like I just came home. The bartender, this lovely young woman named Onya, came up and took my order. I ordered a black and tan. She suggested I go for the smooth black and tan which I did. It did not disappoint! I may have to have my black and tans like this for the rest of my life. I ordered a cup of the buffalo wing chowder, and she said it's one of the most popular items on the menu. I asked her to bring that out first before my Classic Caesar salad. Let me tell you something about that soup. Now I'm not a big soup guy, but I do like chowders, and this was the absolute best I've ever had. Had. I've had clam chowder all over the United States but man this one absolutely nails it! It has that buffalo wing flavor which just perfect and not overpowering. I should have gotten the bigger bowl of it instead of the cup. Now let's talk about the Caesar salad. It was absolutely perfect! It had the perfect ratio of dressing to lettuce, not just poured on top like most places but actually tossed. Onya said she did it herself, so massive kudos for her going above and beyond the call of duty. Overall this meal hit on all cylinders and did not disappoint. I will definitely be back here a couple more times while I'm in Canada. If you need to find me, you know where to find me. The bottom line? You really need to get the buffalo chicken wing chowder. It is absolutely an amazing soup and will change your life. And if you like a good classic Caesar, you can't do better than this one!

She was running the bar by…read moreherself and absolutely handled it -- attentive, friendly, efficient, and professional the entire time. I wish I remembered her name, but thank you. You made the visit. Now, when you market yourself as the Original Buffalo Wing, that carries real weight. There's history there. There's pride there. And honestly, there's an expectation that comes with it. If you're going to carry that banner, you have to be better than Buffalo Wild Wings. That's just the reality. The identity of the place is built on being the original. The wings were good. Solid flavor, classic presentation, cold beer, sports on the TVs -- it checks the boxes for a fun wing spot. But were they clearly a step above other national wing chains? Probably not. And that's where the expectation gap shows up. That said, it's still a good place to grab wings and a beer. Bring your buddies, bring your family, bring your girlfriend -- catch a game and hang out. It's casual and comfortable. If you're in Niagara Falls and want to experience the history behind the name, it's worth a stop. Just go in expecting a solid wing-and-beer experience rather than something that completely resets the standard.

We were visiting from California and came to catch the soccer game on a Saturday early evening. The…read morebar wasn't busy when we sat down, which makes the experience below even harder to explain. Service: 1/5. This was a team effort in the worst way. A skinny bald gentleman who appeared to be a manager was dismissive from the start, walking away mid-sentence before we could even order, multiple times, always rushing off only to go stand at the host desk. And when he did bring our drinks, he literally slammed them down on the table. From the person who's supposed to be setting the standard for the staff --seriously? We sat for 15 minutes without anyone taking our order, meanwhile, a table seated after us got their food before we'd even ordered. When we finally flagged down a server with long blonde hair and mentioned the wait, her response was "who gave you your drinks?" - deflection instead of an apology. We also tried waving down a server with dreadlocks, who acted like he didn't hear us and walked away. To be fair, there was one other bald staff member who was genuinely kind and helpful - he was the lone bright spot, and the difference between him and everyone else was night and day. Food: 3.5/5. Credit where it's due - the food was good. Breaded pickles, original buffalo wings, and the habanero dry rub with ranch, which was genuinely good. The Bloody Mary was flavorful and they had Yuengling. About $82 with tip. Ambiance: 2.5/5. Spacious sports bar with TVs everywhere, which works for game day. But there was water leaking from the vents onto the carpet the entire time we were there - that's a maintenance issue, not a vibe. Bottom line: the food holds up, the service doesn't. If you want Anchor Bar wings near the Falls, do takeout -- skip the dine-in experience entirely. Will we come back? No. Would we recommend dining in? No. To management: scroll through these reviews and you'll see service complaints going back a year or more, same issues, same patterns, still unresolved. Whoever has been running this floor has had more than enough time to fix it. Replying to reviews with apologies isn't the same as addressing the problem. Actually retrain the staff, actually hold the floor manager accountable, and actually fix the leaking vents. Until then, this location is coasting on a famous name it didn't earn.
