He has a tremendous wealth of knowledge in all areas (he had been a Mt. Sinai Neurologist for much of his career) and yet is willing to admit if you stumble upon an area he's not well versed in-althgouh there aren't many. He has turned his long time allopathic career into an alternative one, and accomplishes the same results with supplements-which generally come without the side effects of allopathic medicine. He does kinesiology testing ( muscle testing) and not only prescribes the supplements, he tests them before you buy them to see if they will work-and you can see the results with your own eyes in a very univasive way.. I have sent him follow up emails to ask a question and he replies, in a timely way. He came highly recommended from a very famous person who has written about 100 books on health and nutrition, and he told me " Martine Feldman is the best diagnostician in the United States". I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is well into his 70's and my only hope is that he doesn't retire anytime soon. I even brought my two 7 year olds to him, as well as my husband. Dr Chatpar and his staff were stellar. A comprehensive history was taken after which Dr Chatpar appeared. He was genuinely warm. There was never a sense that he was trying to escape the room or that he had anything on his mind but his patient. He suggested Prolia as the treatment and he assured us that he wanted us to ask him any questions. He listened to our concerns and adjusted his advice in consideration of our hesitation to commence Prolia infusion until protected by a covid-19 vaccine. Although we expect our doctors to be honest, we still expect professionalism! Wow -- BMI 41 Your BMI puts you in the OBESE category. I do not do tummy tucks on people whose BMI is above 30. A breast reduction may be appropriate, but not sure a tummy tuck will help you. You need to get on a diet and loose a lot of weight before I would ever touch your stomach. Usually people whose BMIs are over 40 can be candidates for some form of gastic weight loss surgery too. Another one of his postings... Ha Ha Your BMI is 40, which makes you obese --- if you go on a diet, I bet your tummy will be flatter. Lipo may help --- but it will be a drop in the bucket. As you can see this is RUDE! Most of all, Dr. Douek really listens and respects his patients and their wishes. When I found out my baby was breech and desperately wanted to avoid a c-section, Dr. Douek did everything within his power to allow me this opportunity which included a successful ECV at 38 weeks to turn the baby. When I was approaching 10 days past due date, I expressed my desire to avoid an induction and Dr. Douek offered me the option of a membrane sweep (allowing me to come back 3 times in the same day, a few hours apart, with the last time being close to midnight- long after his employees had left!) This allowed me the opportunity to go into labor naturally with my water breaking later that night! When my labor lasted very long and the baby has some difficulty descending, never once did Dr. Douek rush me or try to push me down the path of a c-section where other doctors definitely would have. His approach was, if the baby is tolerating well and you're willing to keep trying, we're in this together! In the end, we were able to get to the finish line together and I was able to deliver my baby naturally. I know in my gut that if I had a different doctor, my outcome would have been very different. I was so satisfied with my entire prenatal care and birth with doctor Douek, and am so grateful to him for giving me such an incredibly positive birth experience! He is a rare breed, and I'm so lucky to have had him take care of me during my first pregnancy!

The doctor and his staff are no BS, which I think some yelp reviewers have taken as not caring, though he and his staff were perfectly polite and helpful with my requests and concerns. He begins every appointment with a consultation at a desk and then the treatment is in a different room. This strikes me as a workflow filled with care. I had ample time to ask questions and he answered them honestly. He was happy to use the phrase "I don't know" when he didn't, a phrase which some doctors don't seem to have in their lexicon. His prices are extremely reasonable. He was in network for me, but the potential out of pocket costs are accessible. Tisch Hospital charges $4,000 for a rabies shot out of pocket. He charges $400. It's rare to go to a doctor without any worry of ruinous costs. He and his staff have what I would describe as New York attitudes, by which I mean they are honest, to the point, and don't BS you. If you require an extra calming doctor who will tuck you in to bed and kiss your forehead -- I completely appreciate if you do want that -- this is probably not the doctor for you. If you don't need a forehead kiss but just want cost-conscious, informed treatment, he's your guy.
