Found a little family owned Korean place in Conroe...yes..Conroe the other night. Small cafe in a strip center, looks like it might have been an ice cream parlor at one time. My son had the 10 pork potstickers for $5. Better than others at similar places. I had the short ribs, came out on a sizzling platter with onions and white rice and kimchi sides. Ribs were tender and spicy sweet. I guess the kimchi was good too...my son ate it all. My wife had the beef bul go gi... very tasty, I'll get that next time. Whole meal w/ 3 bottle drinks was ~$30. Everyone needs to just take a moment and appreciate this place. I had friends from Korea growing up and loved everything about the food that they would spend days ..literal days.. making and today I felt like I was back at the kitchen table eating that food! I hade the kimchi jjigae or kimchi soup with extra tofu in place of the rice and I'm in heaven. This place looks like it was a Quiznos converted into this restaurant making it pretty visible to find. At first it really smells very delicious but once inside and ordering food seems like an oily mess. The foods cooking but there's really no vents for the oily smoke to go anywhere other then on you. I honestly walked out of there smelling like some beef and cooking oil. The meat had lots of fat making it very hard to even eat any meat. I was not really impressed, kinda bummed cause I love Korean bbq and this was definitely nothing compared. Probably wouldn't come back again but i have no hard feelings. ******** just an update ... so I received a very rude and pretty cruel message from the owner because apparently he did not like my review. It's good to know that the owner and his family laughed it off and see my review as a joke--- First and foremost Joseph (owner), just want you to know that I don't Yelp to get high scores on nothing, honestly I Yelp because I travel and love to try new foods and that never stops me from working out and enjoying my protein shakes when I'm home. I like to put my honest opinions because I would hate hard earning people who use their money they worked a 40 hr shift for to go throw it at a restaurant where the owner and his family feel the customers are jokes and you talk about them. I walked in and was greeted. I told the younger lady at the register it's my first time here. She told me most people get the box with everything. I decided to go against that and go with the old faithful Bibimbap(plus I need some veggies in my meal to balance out my diet). *points at the picture that's right next to the register and said I will just take that since I hate butchering the pronunciation. I went to the restroom and wash my hands and when I came out was handed the lunchbox. I told the lady that is not what I ordered. She looked at me like I am crazy. The older lady in the back said you ordered this "with the name in Korean" I was like there is no way I said that by name or I would be so proud of myself. At that point I am like don't worry about it... I rather eat this than someone spits in my remake. If the lady would have said sorry about the confusion would you like a remake I would have said it's fine but come on now? How are you going to put words in my mouth and told me I ordered something that I didn't. If you go dust my finger print off that picture I am sure it's still there lol. Anyways. I rather was quite relieved to know that there is a Korean restaurant near by so I don't have to travel to Houston! Was very very happy when I saw this establishment appear on my map! First, I am from Houston and I am Asian. I've had plenty in Houston, New York, all the way to San Francisco, and Vancouver. Quite honestly, you can't get more authentic than this place. Plus, the woman (who I'm assuming is the owner) is cooking all by herself. I had the pleasure of seeing her cook several meals, plus attending to her customers, and not missing a beat, although she does take her time because she cares about the presentation and the way food tastes!!!!!!!!!! I had the Bibimbap which IMHO is the best comfort food ever! The beef is awesome. The chicken is next on my target next time I visit. Do not expect a fancy Ritz-Carlton atmosphere. 04/22/2021 @ approx 1:45pm Very rude staff. We refered to an item on the menu and owners son proceeds to tell us that this isn't " occupied" territory. He asked what meats we wanted. We asked what our choices where. He said what's the menu say... then he walked away in an aggressive manner. It was noisy inside from the music playing and cooking going on. I had a hard time hearing. Other staff member asked me several if I was hard of hearing. I finally heard her and said yes. She appeared to be getting irritated. Love Korean food. But not interested in being treated like this. Frankly felt like it could have escalated had the staff not walked away. Anyway, we paid for our food but I didn't eat it. Owner asked why. Advised that original staff member was very rude. Owner said " He's got issues". We would have welcomed being educated on how to properly pronounce a word. Simply unacceptable behavior. The food is great as we have eaten here before. But the attitude simple killed it for us. Do not recommend simply because the staff has a bad and nasty attitude. A small Korean restaurant locally owned by a mother and son. Inside is a small space, quaint restaurant that also sell Asian snacks. I will start with the positive. The food is delicious, probably the most authentic in Houston. The meat is not chewy and just melt in your mouth. All the vegetables, rice, and noodles is fresh. My 3 year old son enjoyed it as well. Now onto the miss star. The restaurants does not offer unsweetened tea. They have vary of bottle drinks to offer which may be okay for some. The portion size is quite small (I had a noodle dish) and my mother had a bento box. The bento box is good size but not so much when having to share with a 3 year old toddler (next time I will order a separate dish for him). There is no kid menus but that's not too much of a concern since the food is very kid friendly. The menus is simple and if you are not too hungry or looking for a light healthy lunch I would definitely recommend to stop on by! read more

I am so excited there is a Korean place in Conroe! It is a small place, so they don't have a full-on Korean menu like you will see in Spring Branch, but that is an hour away. They are fast, and fresh and delicious! Bonus:it is MSG free. The meat is not super spicy, probably to not scare other people off. If you want it super spicy I am sure they would be happy to add spice to it for you, as it is cooked fresh. The meat has a nice marinade though. read more

I lived in Korea for a short period of time and this is by far the best I had since I was in country. We ordered the Spicy Pork,Beef Bugolgi, and Chicken Bugolgi with potstickers. We had the dak bulgogi as well as the tofu soup on a Wednesday evening. They were both excellent: not greasy and very flavorful. We were pleasantly surprised that the food wasn't too greasy (like many Korean restaurants in Houston). The portions are a little smaller than some other Korean restaurants, but the chef is very hospitable; she asked if we would like more rice. This restaurant has a home cooked meal feel.
